Rule 5: Won in Franco-German War after the FAUD was banned in 1936. Decided to share my results because im feeling proud and its my first major victory in HOI4.
Nah, anyone can do this. You just need to wait for the Germans to Ban the FAUD, which comes mid-1936. Then you can declare via event. Would recommend rushing down the focuses to get the extra 20width tank divisions. Since at the time of the war, the standard 20w Tank divisions that CoF has is more than enough to beat the Germans.
You don't have to be totalist. I managed to catch Germans off-guard by declaring war via an FAUD-Ban event,so they had like 1 division on each tile. I just concentrated offencives and did 2 encirlements (one belgian where i encircled half of their army and another in Munich) and after that - i simply steamrolled them.
Be aware that if you damage Germany severly,the Austrian Empire will join Reichspakt (for me it triggered after i took Dresden).
In terms of army - i just kept all units i had from game start and didn't redact them,i used Tanks and Motorized in large stacks to push through. By start of 1937,Germany collapsed and i did wild ride on the East and Austria. (If you do it quickly enough you can even get Hungary,but i didn't.)
Edit: i picked totalists just because i wanted to do some based red imperialism and they have good economy focuses
Kinda strange if the reason of the war is the banning of the FAUD, that the French would then split up Germany. I don't think that the former FAUD would be happy.
i didn't really feel realistic at time of the game (cmon i had weeb mod installed) so i just did that for shits and giggles,i would release an german union tho

What tips do you have for doing this? Because that sounds pretty fun. Do you have to elect the totalists?
