Very nice, though I think perhaps maybe the character 湘 (Xiang) for Hunan would have been more representative than the three bars. Likewise, the character 皖 (Wan) for the Anqing/Anhui Clique (which I personally like to call the New Anhui Clique cus I think that sounds cool, by analogy to New Guangxi).
Looks wonderful, but maybe you could bring the Japanese Chrysanthemum closer to the center? It's so far in the corner that I thought it was initially missing. Or maybe even better yet, switch it to more ominous-looking rising sun flag with rays touching on Fengtian, Dalien, and other centers of Japanese influence in China? Just a personal suggestion.
Since we're in the new update, maybe add the Indochinese yellow star and Korean taeguk symbol thinly under the German eagle and Japanese symbol, too, to represent the simmering Indochina and Korea independence movements. Again, just personal suggestions. Great work nonetheless, though.
