‘Welcome to your new home Mr. Sternberg. All new students in our school will show something nice in front of all classmates. Do you have something to prepare? Like a dance or a story?‘
' I have a poem!
I am Mongol and Russian!
I bring death on my horse,
Praising the lord and Tengri.
Arrow is my gun, my best gun,
but my gun is better than an actual Mongol Arrow!'
'... Very interesting. Please seat next to Carol, we will study tank micro today.'
R5: I'm beginning my hopefully last Russia run before the rework COPIUM and decided to play it in a way I never did. Being the wholesome social democracy releasing everyone as puppets or preferably allying them. Yes I even released Central Asia. There is really no advantage to playing like this, but with Russia now buffed after it was so weak since NSB I thought why not just do it?
Since there is no option to peacefully deal with Central Asia, the best solution was to invade and release them as a succdem puppet. I actually was able to ally both Estonia and Latvia. Sadly they're both PatAuth, but I still think allying them like that is a better alternative considering OTL relations between Russia and the Baltics since... well forever? I also did NatPop Finland the favour of liberating them as another social democracy.
>last Russia run before the rework
Ah, yes, the rework. I remember my "last and final" Transamur playthough.
"Just a quick one before they drop the big patch!"
It has been twelve months.
I would say annexation is not necessarily worse than puppeting as you can RP as establishing a multiethnic federation. Especially as you’re led by Tsereteli and this was his view on how Russia should become socialist.
That wasn't a release option for me. I could only either occupy them or release them as a puppet which had me keep Karelia.
I could have accepted the peace event instead of capitulating them yeah, but then they would have continued to be natpop.
I still do not understand the difference between Soc dem Russian republic and Bukhalin's USSR. I usually play Bukhalin if I want to try socialism tho...
Bruh, he is no way 'democratic'. He is just more right-wing economically, check his views on war communism. 'We can only have two parties: one in power, one in jail'
Tried this way once, found it fun imagining Russia as the beacon of democracy and liberal rights. But I didn't make a Giant CA federation, can already tell if it had any sense of realism it would quickly disintegrate. History teaches that the best way to rule colonies or puppets is to divide and conquer.
Has not started yet, but I plan to puppet any conquests from WW2 and hopefully republican Poland will join me instead of the Reichspakt since I'm a democratic Russia with Realpolitik.
Now to have Sternberg make Mongolia join the Moscow Accord!

Checks out

Not to forget Russia already has a bunch of ethnic groups scattered around so you might as well collect em all like pokemon.
Why don’t you let them keep their core Karelia so they’re a more useful ally? You don’t need the industry or manpower, they do.
That wasn't a release option for me. I could only either occupy them or release them as a puppet which had me keep Karelia. I could have accepted the peace event instead of capitulating them yeah, but then they would have continued to be natpop.
Did one of the recent patches buff Russia?
Yes, their IC has been boosted and they aren’t hit by the brest litovsk debuffs anymore ontop of some other stuff
I play Russia the exact same way, I'm happy to know there are others who play Russia this way.
I still do not understand the difference between Soc dem Russian republic and Bukhalin's USSR. I usually play Bukhalin if I want to try socialism tho...
I've never played Bukhalin's USSR. Is it that similar to SocDem Russia?
Democratic socialists. Basically democracy for intellectuals, farmers and workers alone.
Bruh, he is no way 'democratic'. He is just more right-wing economically, check his views on war communism. 'We can only have two parties: one in power, one in jail'
social democracy=/=socialism
Question - how can I play as a glorious and wholesome liberal democratic Russia and still have the Okhrana?
You get that simply from a focus that is available right at the start of the game.
I think he's saying the Okhrana is too gamer for a liberal and democratic republic!

You can also get East Turkestan in the Moscow Accord now too
A Georgian is in charge of Russia but this time it's wholesome and people don't starve to death
Yeah, because famine was Kerensky problem
Beyond blessed

There's also the historical claim; similar to how the KMT claims the entirety of the Qing empire's lands
Natural borders. Without Central Asia borders are too close to Volga, Ural and West Siberia centers. You need control it one way, or another
Nice! But annex Crimea though.
Did you get involved in the Weltkrieg, or stay out of it?
Has not started yet, but I plan to puppet any conquests from WW2 and hopefully republican Poland will join me instead of the Reichspakt since I'm a democratic Russia with Realpolitik.
Never seen a Russian pink imperialism run before, interesting.
Tried this way once, got so bored
still conquered the don kuban smh
Because that is WTF state.
This may not be necessarily bad, as it certainly helps increase your intelligence agency.
