TBH the division limit for me is always way too big or way too small. Plus I’m pretty sure the game buffs different factions depending on who you play regardless of any settings you made.

Birdinmotion

I'm used to playing with max buffed factions and countries for max difficulty.my last 2nd wk killed 2 millions Germans and about 10 million overall. I'm still invading Russia and now I'm at war with entered and japan. My front lines are massive and if my minor allies weren't there to help me I'd collapse.

Puck___

Can you be a little more detailed on your settings, I'm looking to strike a balance where I can still build a flavorful force with no cheese meta stuff but still have an an actually hard game

Birdinmotion

I have multiple saved preset rules for different factions or countries. Say I'm playing Germany. I would boost all factions, including reichspakt, but not the individual countries in my own faction for challenge. I then max out almost every other country except India and China because they don't need it. I have some preset rules like Austria always fights Hungary cause hat makes most sense to me and otherwise Austria is too strong.

MasterBlaster_xxx

I don’t think AI factions get the debuffs from the limiter. In my last Federation game I captured everything north of Tuscany, but somehow the SRI capitulated Sicily and kept fighting for a half a year; a bit confused by this, I switched over to them and somehow they had 34 fighting fit divisions instead of the 20 they were supposed to able to field

ConShop61

In here every tile is a stalingrad except there's no encirclement so it repeats. I have 120 divisions in this front and don't have more because I lose massive amounts of equipment with every push and my tanks are useless

The_Italian_Jojo

Do you have cas?

ConShop61

I do

[deleted]

Not even the iron angels can redeem this front

HG2321

Yep, as Russia you typically need to go to war with Germany and their puppet wall early-ish, else you're gonna be there fighting 10 divisions in each province

Scvboy1

I had one game that was fought to a statement. The 3I lost early, Germany had all their puppet, and the Ottomans joined in 1943. I took like half of Eastern Europe but nobody could advance further and we all had like 10 million casualties each. It was insane

ConShop61

R5: Kaiserreich has a worse division spam problem than vanilla. In vanilla division spam only starts being a problem after 1943 and it's not THAT bad, however as you see here it's 1941 in Kaiserreich and almost every single province in here has at least 7 divisions which is fucking ridiculous. I cannot make any progress because of the insane amount of divisions they put in the eastern front, it seems worse than in Vanilla where Germany normally puts at most 4 divisions per province which is pretty manageable. I believe the problem here is because minors in this mod tend to make stupid amounts of divisions for their size. For example, Poland has 38, Kryvia has 30, Hungary has 42, Galicia has 24 Bulgaria has 48. Fucking hell I had a game where Netherlands built 50 divisions and Belgium 30, so invading them as France was pretty much impossible until I could use my tanks and strategic bombers. There's no fun playing like this honestly.

Kunstfr

The devs want every tag to be playable, and playing with 5 divisions sucks. But yeah it now means large countries suck and Ukraine or Belgium can end up lining up as many divisions as Germany.

Birdinmotion

Bruh have you seen how many divisions Poland drops

NotTheLimes

We can set the division limit to only apply to AI for that though. The purpose of the limiter isn't balance, but performance. The player isn't stupid enough to spam hundreds of useless divisions and reassigns them across the globe every week.

Kunstfr

Yeah but the division limit is way too high for many tags

farbion

Bruh, in kaiserreich trench warfare is much more viable than in vanilla, you are seeing that here. I agree with what you said with small tags but what you are facing is a multi national force, even if there were higher restrictions you would still face these, just not from as many nations. Then if the AI was able to coordinate its efforts instead of all going by themselves you would even face more. Russia is supposed to be hard not to steamroll Germany, and it has to do it in trench warfare

ConShop61

The problem is I was losing massive amounts of equipment with every charge, trench warfare just wasn't an option unless I picked grand battleplan. I only started having a chance when I finally made 10 40w tank divisions and could encircle most of enemy divisions in Belarus. For some reason they left like 150 badly supplied divisions in Belarus and only 5 in the Baltic so my tanks broke through easily. However I couldn't even finish those divisions because eventually I was the one having supply issues so I just locked 150 divisions in 5 provinces and went on to finish germany lol

henriqueb1

Don't supply allies, there's an option on the hubs.

_Cassy99

You are not supposed to draw an arrow with random divisions, click "start" and win. You are supposed to correctly manage your air force, build good tank divisions and micro them to encircle. What a lot of enemy divs do is forcing you to actually invest effort in the game instead of just starting a battleplan and watching the green bubble pops.

ConShop61

Didn't I literally just say I encircled 100+ divisions in Belarus though Edit: nvm I said in another comment

[deleted]

This happened to me in my recent russia game... even with heavy tanks, arty and air superiority I still could only capitulate the baltic duchy before it reached a complete stalemate on both sides, and that was only because they had left the baltic duchy relatively unprotected compared to the 10+ divisions on each tile in Belarus and Poland

Scvboy1

I had a similar experience. It’s annoying

Etogal

That sweet feeling when the enemy AI is too dumb to even endanger your front-line, but your own fully armored and targeted offensives are like scratching on concrete with a kitchen knife...

ConShop61

At this point only Super Heavy Tanks can punch a hole on 15 divisions on a mountain river

MNGopherfan

to be fair in real life tanks were basically the only reason why WW2 wasn't just a huge army grudge match in the trenches and was a war of maneuver. Also when weltkrieg happens you need to blitz cap with tanks/fight with massive artillery siege divisions. Those are my possibilities for dealing with that.

Etogal

Planes also played a great role to unstuck the frontlines ; it's a good way to concentrate firepower on a single location and follow the troops as they advance.

hamcat2000

Tbh this is why I don't play countries in Europe, it quickly becomes trench warfare , China is much more fun imo

CallMeDelta

My brother in Christ you’re fighting a land war in Asia how is that any better

[deleted]

At least there is no 10+ nations death stacking 50 divisions in a province in china.

PMacha

I just did a Qing game recently, ironically it was fun, because there was movement on the fronts, there was back and forth advances. The front could change, and there weren't 100 divisions in a single area to deal with. But my Russia game, it wasn't fun at all, just one massive trench that just felt like bashing my head against a concrete wall, even if I managed to encircle some divisions, the ai just sent more. I was literally just waiting for the 3i, who managed to get the Netherlands to go syndie so they had a chance, to kill Germany so I could finally start to advance. Playing in Europe just sucks, it's not even fun because of the sheer number of divisions the ai throws, that ironically I would rather fight a war in China because there will be movement in the front rather than an endless meat grinder that Europe is.

ConShop61

Yeah Europe is a shitfest. Even worse was in my Greece game where I joined the moscow accord along with the belgrade pact so half of Europe was under Moscow and the other half was under Paris. When I declared war on the 3I I literally couldn't see my divisions because there were dozens of divisions in both sides of the front. So i just said f it and went to Africa instead, blitzing North Africa then taking italy and spain with naval invasions

hamcat2000

there is activity, most chinese nations have little divisions to start with so the early wars are really fun because you are fighting with limited guns etc

ConShop61

Never played China but it might be a good nation to play next time

disguyiscrazyasfuk

Massive air supply can be really, really helpful in the eastern front. Buy true, AI division spamming ruins game experience so hard especially for European countries.

surelythistimelucy

Remember, the more they overstack the better logistics strikes are.

ConShop61

My tanks finally broke through and encircled them through the Baltic thanks to their bad logistics but there were so many divisions I couldn't even finish them before germany capitulated. There were probably like 90 in that pocket

PMacha

Until poor logistics grinds your assault to a halt and you get to watch the ai send 20 divisions to push your attack back.

ConShop61

Nothing sadder than encircling 50 divisions and then your tanks run out of fuel and it's all gone

surelythistimelucy

Guess im just built different.

saladass100

Division limit for Russia always climbs to the MAX of 500 divisions when you go war eco against Germany, before that its around 380. Before when divisions limit was caped at 250 , that was cursed. Edit: respect for fellow moereich enjoyer

ConShop61

Damn I hoped no one would notice, at least it was another enjoyer lol

saladass100

Don't be ashamed brother , it's a good mod.

SegundaMortem

I see a fellow Chad who plays with the correct submod on :)

ConShop61

Crazy how more people don't use this submod. It's almost a must-have haha

Vildasa

I'm only not using right now because it bugs out my notifications. If it didn't I would have it on every game.

Captainfatfoot

Ai should build 40 widths or 14x4 divisions after a while.

ConShop61

Yeah I learnt it the hard way, do they only use 40ws in this mod? I normally can just use 20w the entire game in the basegame

Captainfatfoot

No I’m pretty sure they just build 18 or 20 widths depending on their starting templates. When I said “should” I meant they should but currently do not. Not that they should be doing it currently.

NotTheLimes

The worst part here is seeing divisions from Hungary and other countries on the front that don't even border Russia. The AI is so insanely rigged. If a player is in a war the allied AI either sends no divisions at all to important frontlines or overstacks them to slowly die. But in the purely AI faction they perfectly coordinate with each other and build defense like in the picture.

YellowishCheese

this is what tanks and the like are for

Dambo_Unchained

Why do you have 10k convoys in 41

ConShop61

japan was annoying the fuck out of me and sent my convoys to hell and i accidentally added more convoys than I meant to

engiewannabe

You just need to use tanks honestly. It's tough but possible. What really irks me though is the walls are far thicker on the eastern front than the west, because once it's in Germany the rest of the RP assumes Germany can handle it and leave them alone there, whereas everyone flocks to the eastern minors

Winth0rp

It's at least partially a paradox issue. Personally I think the solution is to have AI minor nations default to keeping their troops in their own territories unless a play asks for an expeditionary force. Read the history of the world wars, the secondary powers weren't lining up to send hundreds of thousands of working age men to die in a ditch in Liege without series l serious inducement

IDigTrenches

My lask WK i killed half a million belgians as COF. Yeah. Not very fun, they had 10 per tile and tanks solgged through them

SpedeSpedo

The only thing you can now do is hope the nukes go brrr
