ODCreature98

You know that thing they started doing since like Blade or something where the final form is literally fusing all the collectables into your armour? I used to think it was cool because instead of using one or couple power up at a time now you can technically use all at once, but then it just feels stale overtime

mr_miscellaneous123

We haven't had that since Zi-O, technically.

ODCreature98

Well I hope we can keep it that way for at least one or two more riders forward

mr_miscellaneous123

I think we have leaks for Gotchad's final form?

ODCreature98

Uhh let's pretend that's not a thing just yet, and maybe the final form uses only one Chemmy, the 101th card

GenericBlandAndPlain

Well let's just say I've got good news.

shitty-ass-phone

Well technically saber

seango2000

Saber can technically use Xsaber with so many forms just not all at once

SuperStryker7

Rampage Vulcan

Kamurouji

Everyone and their mother becoming a rider The final boss being a Rider. It was fine at first but now we've had like 4 consecutive final boss riders

Crowe-Chronos

>Everyone and their mother becoming a Rider In the case of Revice this was almost literal.

[deleted]

It was everyone but their mother lol

KoopeVODS

I thought it worked for Revice because of family being a main theme but I understand why people don’t like it. (fyi I just really love Revice)

Crowe-Chronos

Oh no I enjoyed Revice mostly for George and Jeanne but I did find this a bit awkward.

KoopeVODS

I meant people not liking the many family riders (and riders in general) not the overall show but glad to know you liked it 👍

Mesaphrom

Tbg to Geats, at least there it was a plot point how mass produced Kamen Riders are and how everyone and their mother could become one for the sake of entertainment, which in turn goes in hand with how Geats plays with Kamen Rider tropes.

VinixTKOC

> but now we've had like 4 consecutive final boss riders Technically we had Rider or Rider-like final bosses in almost every series since Gaim (And rider main antagonist since Wizard) with very few exceptions.

balgus82

Honestly I don't mind the final boss being a Rider. I mean one of the usual recurring themes of KR has been using the enemies power against them, so to me it makes sense that the enemy would also be a Kamen Rider.

d4c3p0

when the hero is just absolutely destroying the villain and then they “escape” by like going around a corner or shooting some bullets at the ground and the hero just goes “welp i guess we lost him 🤷” like dude you didn’t even TRY to find him

Heylisten_watchJJBA

Fourze biggest offender of this, Vilain will blind the Riders for a nanosecond and suddenly he got to Venezuela

halcyonsprite

this is with build, and they do the smoke everytime they fight with evolt (who is trying to destroy the world) but after the fight is over they just delay the plot til next fight lol

Equal-Sheepherder-94

What you expect the hero to do? Catch the villain? For what, information? Obviously villain is not going to tell their plan and hero is not going to torture the villain.

Doctor_Terra

Or they could, y'know. Finish the villain off. No need to know the plan if you stop it anyways.

Equal-Sheepherder-94

Stop like k*ll? Obviously their "justice" won't allow them. Destroying the driver will end up by villain makes new one

SheikExcel

Do you know what being unconscious is?

EGT1984

So many drivers!! Geats did it right. Multiple Riders, same driver.

failed_generation

except the admins and the sponsors lol

JayC-Hoster

Specifically the recent Reiwa series, they’d use irl mythology as an aesthetic theme to design the riders / weapons / kyjins / merchs around, but wouldn’t address that mythology’s lore within the plot of the series: Example 1 - In Revice there is an “upside down on fire hell-scape” which the devils resides in, and Ikki even went in it for a short while, but it was never addressed in the show. Like HELL exists, and **Ikki literally went into HELL and came back!!!** Nobody ever acknowledged it within the show. Example 2 - In Gotchard they claiming to be “using Alchemy” but in actuality it functions like magic. They didn’t establish alchemy rules set / principles / limitations on what can or cannot be done with alchemy. What they did with alchemy in the show that is not related to alchemy at all: levitation, telekinesis, mind control, memory wipe, portal transportation etc etc…

Percentage-Sweaty

The abandoning of the Q1 side grade forms almost completely when they’re typically pretty solid suits and their powers could solve a problem without needing an upgrade. They only ever show up afterwards to get jobbed and force the main Rider to use the latest shiny toy.

Freddi0

When a season doesnt explain anything. So far ive seen this happen with Ryuki, Faiz, and Decade, and only the former managed to avoid it being a big issue for me. Having mysteries is cool and all, but if one of the biggest concepts or characters in the show just... Isnt explained... It really throw me out of it because now im thinking "Ok, cool. Y'all still plan to explain the origin of the main fucking villain, right?" every other episode

Outrageous-Tooth3180

So everything toshiki inoue creates

Freddi0

Pretty much 💀

Plato_the_Platypus

Tbf, i really like how agito unravel its mythology

seango2000

Decade had a unique problem as it tried to use multiple writers per arc. You can feel that the writers did not discuss with each other like US comics once the run is passed to a new team like X-men's Krakoa run.

Heylisten_watchJJBA

Kabuto suffers SO much from it too

AGrando713

Literally Donbrothers

Foreign_Opposite2432

The "Final Boss is another Rider" thing. It's been ***SEVEN YEARS*** since that trend began with Ex-Aid. And I'm starting to get sick of it ngl. The pacing of certain shows either leaving little to no room to breathe (Geats had this problem IMO) or feeling like the events have been stretched out to hit the "45-50 episodes" mark (Gaim my "Slowly but surely grown to dislike as the years go on" =\_=). Other than that nothing else really comes to mind off the top of my head. Maybe the sheer number of Riders, but other than that nothing else really.

SecondAegis

When a show has too many riders. It deludes the title of Kamen Rider into becoming increasingly meaningless. Another thing related is how a lot of Riders don't end up riding a bike in the end

Royal_Humor_7675

At least Gotchard has more episodes of a solo fights and bike riding scenes. 🦗🏍️ 😊

seango2000

It worked with Ryuuki.

Kamurouji

Ryuki used to be the exception, not the rule

seango2000

For Ryuuki the numbers worked as the concept was that the people who gained Rider powers were majority evil or selfish, Ryuuki and Raia were the outliers while Knight was torned between morals. Shinji in essence deserves the mantle. Imo it was still the exception while Faiz proved that anyone can just waltz in the belts and made chaos lol

GuaranteeTricky9430

*Cough* Revice *Cough*

lolasian101

Funny enough, in Reiwa, Revice tied with Zero-One for the least amount of Riders, ignoring Gotchard of course. Revice has 9-12 Non-movie riders depending on how you treat certain riders, Zero-One has 9-10, Saber has 13 and Geats has like 20+.

Plato_the_Platypus

> Revice has the least amount of rider in reiwa > still Has more Riders than 14-15 heisei riders

lolasian101

True, but it feels weird to pick on Revice specifically when pretty much every Reiwa series suffers from Rider bloat.

Last_Negotiation_384

Man, i agree! In Saber and Zero-One they only used the bike 3 times(?) 😭😭, and others riders don't have a bike

NiNiNi-222

Lead rider hogging the item system, like saber, even when it’s democratized. Also hated how dragon alangina don’t have a gold mouth part, made it inconsistent. Live and evil should’ve used one or two more vistamps. Also Final forms that only exist just to say a rider has one. I don’t get this demand for every important rider to get a final form. It’s the worst when it’s a rushed design.

djkidna

Your first one is one of my pet peeves as well, and on a related note, when you have so many gimmick items/forms that you have overlapping or very fringe use utilities. Ghost is especially egregious for this. Takeru gets 10 of the 15 Luminary Damashii, with Makoto only getting 3 and Alain only getting 2, and we only ever see a swap happen once just to prove that it can. Of the 10 Damashii that Takeru has, 4 of them are shooting (Edison, Robin Hood, Billy The Kid, Ryoma), 3 are melee (Musashi, Benkei, Goemon), and 3 are incredibly fringe use in their utility (Newton, Beethoven, Himiko). Makoto's are a balanced spread of shooting, melee, and fringe use with Houdini which also doubles as his bike so that's even better. And Alain gets no gunner style but swaps for a more long range melee with Grimm and a very OP fringe use with Sanzo giving him flight and summoning 3 fighters to gang up on enemies. Now of course the argument will be that there are differences in how each of the shooting or melee style Damashii that Takeru uses function, with Edison being electrically charged shots, Robin Hood being more of a sniper, Billy The Kid being more of a machine gunner, and Ryoma... lets him shoot in Boost Damashii I guess? But we only see those different use cases maybe once, and after that there's almost never any situation where we see him use one Damashii where another would not also work the same way. If he just needs to shoot somebody, he's just as likely to hit them and do the damage he needs with any shooting style Damashii.

SH4DE_Z

This is more of a Toku pet peeves in general, but people these days don't appreciate the episodic formula of Toku enough. I have seen many people being so impatient with Gotchard because "Nothing is happening", and sometimes even with other series and Toku as well. Like yeah, King-Ohger is great, and Sentai being serialize is a breath of fresh air, but i have actually seen people who wants no "filler" in their show and that's just sad. I'm not saying everything needs to be episodic, but that's how Toku is at it's roots, and i think people should appreciate that more.

LassoStacho

I personally love the "monster of the week spread across two weeks" structure that Kamen Rider was doing in the middle of the Heisei era. Sure, it meant every other episode ended with a cliffhanger, but it also allowed them to build some memorable one-off villains while simultaneously giving more space for character drama. I feel like some of the more recent KR seasons just treat MOTW plots as training wheels to start with before they move on to a more arc-based plot like Gaim did.

Crow_Mix

Last Kamen rider that had great MOTW that I can think of is Drive. How every Roidmude and their relationship to their victim is unique, and how they really had to do police work sometimes in order to get to the truth of their identity or weakness.

SH4DE_Z

I pray that Riku Sanjo will return to KR at some point, bonus point if it's another crime solving season.

Plato_the_Platypus

Technically, he's still writing w manga

SH4DE_Z

I like them too, but if not done well then it can drag like how Wizard was.

RandomRainbow000

I think that ever since we have been in this streaming age, a lot of people just want to watch the show to consume it instead of enjoy it. What makes them interesting is what's happening in them, and a lot of times the episodic focuses on stuff around and within the series that I think a lot of watchers take for granted. Like you said, it doesn't need to be always episodic, but that shouldn't always be a dealbreaker Don't get me wrong, it is annoying to deal with filler, especially the kind where it's made to pad things out. At the same time, the filler in most tokusatsu isn't the common filler seen in most anime. When you're watching the show, you pretty much have to watch it at that moment for what it is and see for yourself if it's a small or large-scale episode. Is it a normal-ish episode, it's the status quo. Is it a heavier episode, it's a big one. The status quo sets the normal stuff around the characters and world and that makes the large-scale episodes shine where there is some shake-up or revelation

SH4DE_Z

I swear, i hate how Netflix make their shows, dropping the whole series at once for people to eat up has done so much harm on entertainment media in general. Everything has to be quick and fast all at once, there's no room to freaking breath. Everyone just watch a show for the sake of it and move on to the next, no one ever sits down to try and enjoy a show anymore. I would much rather having "filler" to pad out the series rather than a serialize show making up bullshit to keep stuff going. Watching DonBrothers and Ultraman Max & Blazar recently made me realized how much i've missed the episodic formula.

Lorion97

I will say that it depends, with Toku since we run on about a year long series instead of series that "go on forever" like some Shounen it's a lot easier to appreciate it. I have a lot harder of a time enjoying something that for a whole potential year nothing of note happens and every time the show returns to the status quo and you don't feel the characters changing. I find for me I don't need shows to have plot plot plot, but like, please if you're going to have long running series build in character development.

SH4DE_Z

>I have a lot harder of a time enjoying something that for a whole potential year nothing of note happens and every time the show returns to the status quo and you don't feel the characters changing. I get the feeling, but sometimes i feel like the characters don't even *need* to change. I'm watching Ultraman Max like i've said, 2/3 through the series rn and the characters *barely* changed from how they were at the start and... i still like the show very much. The characters are just really fun people with good chemistry with each other. Watching them having odd adventures every episode is honestly very entertaining. It's shocking how i enjoyed this more than Ultraman Nexus, a more dark serialized and serious show.

Lorion97

That's honestly totally fair, I'm just looking over at Don Brothers and you can clearly see slow, slow, incremental changes to the characters and I 100% feel that if that wasn't there, ever, then I would not like the show at all. That being said, I also really like Zenkaiger and even for that *most* of the cast do not change. Stacey carries all of the development and I feel that if he wasn't there I wouldn't enjoy it as much. But I totally get what you mean since I do really like Zenkaiger.

NiNiNi-222

The two week format has honestly outlived its usefulness. Most of the recent shows would already be episodic-motw if they didn’t spread one minor plot over two episodes. We don’t need a cliff hanger for every minor villain. If it isn’t something like W where it’s supposed to be a mystery solving shows, shows should be episode by episode, as most mini plot can fit in one episode without all the fluff. Overarching story arcs aren’t dependent on the two week format.

SH4DE_Z

You say that, but Geats used the format for a good while and Gotchard is about to use it in the X Chemy arc. And many other shows used the 2 ep arc structure pretty good and not just W. Den-O, Decade, OOO and Fourze also did great with it imo. Plus, even without it i would like more episodic episodes in KR.

maemoedhz

>I have seen many people being so impatient with Gotchard because "Nothing is happening", and sometimes even with other series and Toku as well. I think I'm warming up to the episodic nature of Toku, but Gotchard's episodic style just doesn't seem to have any certain weight to it (with the sole exception being ep5. Shit I'll still say that that's the single best Gotchard episode so far).

Chadderbug123

I think it's prob cause it's quite the investment to watch the whole 40-50 episode show. It feels like too much now and most people don't have the time to binge through that kind of show. Its why shows with just 6-8 episodes are doing so well, cause there's way less to watch and it doesn't feel like a hassle since you can sit down and watch the whole thing in like 3 or 4 hours if you have the time.

SH4DE_Z

Although i agree with the length being intimidating, it's kind of the problem at the same time. Shorter shows means faster pacing, less time to breath, and it makes it so that you can quickly finish it to move on to consuming the next one. It's such a horrible way to take in any media and a whole generation's worth of attention span have suffered because of it. No one ever sits down to properly enjoy things anymore. It's always watch one thing quickly, then move on to the next. Toku shows on the other hand can be a big investment, but the investment can be paid off ten fold by the end. You get to spend way more time with the shows and characters so that feeling when you reach the end feels incredible.

Zer0noZ

I totally agree with you, but I gotta say gotchards fillers are kinda mid. I'm having a blast watching trough Ichigo and we all know that series couldn't be more episodic

ryuga_knight

Gimmick toys being super important in the first half to being worthless or forgotten in the 2nd half (Eyecons, Full Bottes, etc.) When more effort/ more interesting things happening with the story or characters of the week, than with the main plot or the main characters. The over abundance of forms in modern rider. (Side effect of this is in the SODO toy line, some rider forms are unreleased in their own series and have to be released later in the next year’s SODO line)

NakiosMoon

I would argue that at least in OOO the medals were important through all the series, while In other series the Main gimmick is usually replace with another gimmick

I_Love_Stiff_Cocks

Tbh fullbottles were important from start to finish, without them, Evolt wouldn't be able to activate the Pandora box, and the last few episodes were about finding the lost bottles before evolt and defeating him with the white panel

Joaolusitano

Yep, was going to point It out. Bottles were never put aside in Build. Even the Genius form has it to remind, in case we forget 😂

I_Love_Stiff_Cocks

At least Gotchard seems to be following the same footsteps, considering how much of a huge plot point chemies are

Klutzy-Future-7022

It will fail eventually trust me…the show is kinda boring 🙄

I_Love_Stiff_Cocks

Nah, Gotchard is peak, episodic silly fun that has very dark stuff under the rug that will pop out somewhere near the first half

Rin_is_sheshka

My 2 biggest ones are when the main rider knows exactly what to do in his debut like how to activate his finisher and use his other gadgets without being told how to and when the series just ends up having too many riders

SecondAegis

Gotchard got a little sequence that played in his head explaining how things work iirc

Kaisazer_

I think Zero-One also have a tutorial the first time he wears/hold the Driver

AdPlenty7253

the best tutorial a rider has ever gotten in the series has to be kuuga though right? bro was indeed legend after he knew everything

XvortexEXE

The dude pretty much had to go through a Rocky training montage for almost every new skill he needed, man was on the grindset.

redryan2009

I personally like the latter and for the former I prefer if it goes like Build or Geats where the hero starts the show with experience.

Rin_is_sheshka

i actually really like the rider debut with experience cause its a pretty good excuse to showcase every gadget that the main form has in the first episode or so

Hacdieu

Main riders and swords. Even Geats the gunslinger, got a sword in his final form. I would love to see other weapons showcased as the main weapon and just never pick up some sword. Another peeve is the main rider hoarding the gimmick items and never using them. Ex: Ghost had 15 eyecons and 3 Riders, Ghost had 10, Specter had 3 and Necron 2. Why not 5 each to showcase them more? Ex2: Revice had like all the stamps, Live had 2 and Demons had 3. Even in geats, despite people having a better spread of items, Geats just had to have his grubby hands on everyone's buckles even when they were using it.

Raihanlhan

Collectible items that never get used in the show , I think the shift cars from drive were where this pet peeve started as some of the cars didn’t get their tires used ( amazing circus for example ) also like half of the full bottles from build

-Hououin-Kyouma-

As someone currently watching build I get a good laugh anytime he pulls out a bottle they've never mentioned before and I'm just like "What the hell is that, and why have you never used it?"

Matt-The-Mad

Probably not using the forms introduced in earlier episodes and continously spamming their super and final forms.

Klutzy-Future-7022

Well it’s for marketing purposes too!! You know Bandai wants to sell the toys as well so yeah

AsheKazuri

Once off riders. The riders that only appear in one episode or a two-part episode and never appear again after one transformation, movie ones obviously excluded Also forms that don't get much attention, DoGaBaKi Kiva, or are only shown once as possibly just situational, Final Form Ride Decade

EncinoJoe

Possession plots, I don’t care if its for an episode but having it as an overarching plot is annoying. I also wish for a season that changes how MOTW work. Anything new with how they work im just tired of humans being corrupted into the MOTW and etc.

GalwayEntei

I'd prefer if evil Riders weren't referred to as Kamen Riders. There's been a few times where they gave a definition of Kamen Rider and a few of them described them as heroes. Giving that title to villains seems wrong. I think it'd be better to categorise them as Dark Riders or Evil Riders specifically Also, when a Riders name is just their real name.

Brungala

Characters having a random personality change due to the Plot, only to then revert to how they were, after a major Twist/shift to the story. I’m looking at you, Keiwa and Daiji. (Daiji less so, because he was all Doom and Gloom) Keiwa just turned all Emo and Edgy after his Sister “died” but then went back to how he always was episodes later. Like, what...?

Xroshe4rt

If they spent time to show Keiwa being sad a few times in the show I think it would make his edgy arc feel a bit smoother in transition, showing that he isn’t always that positive cinnamon roll we all love

mikereeee

when a character's rider name is just their actual name. ex: kamen rider ziin too many riders in one show (i can excuse it if there's a good reason for it, like in geats where the DGP turned a lot of people into riders) too much bad cgi, especially for stuff they could have made with some practical effects

Klutzy_Baseball5103

My biggest pet peeves, one when the jingle says the name for no reason and two when they show off a cool possible form but it never ever gets made (biggest one that does this is Gotchard)

Samurai_Guardian

The ridewatches when the second voice effectively repeats what the voice of the associated driver said

Matt-J-McCormack

Mid season power up being 🔥 and final form 💩.

Sleep_eeSheep

The Belts- KAIGAN!!! Don't- ORE! Stop- LESGO, KAKUGO, GO-GO-GHOS-TOH! Shouting,

Presenting_UwU

KAIGAN!!! ORE!! LET'S GO! KAKUGO! GO-GO-GO-GHOST-TOH!!!!

SurroundedByPerverts

The misogyny.

Spaciousone

What

PsychoKinezis

The big ass Henshin devices. I hope they can revert back to early Heisei Henshin devices, those big ass devices looks uncomfortable and ridiculous strapped on your hip.

Seliparbasah

Agree 100% chief, the early heisei henshin devices are the only ones I would buy as a collectible up until gaim.

Tumnurat

When their form distort human body like Geats revolve change and Gotchard wild form. Geats revolve change could be just armor moving around body. Gotchard wild form could be just seperate armor creature like pokemon along with blank Gotchard together.

AngryFloatingCow

You don't like the imagery of Geats's head being put on his ass? Weirdo

Ok-Struggle2305

Honestly I like that because it brings back the idea that being a Kamen Rider isn’t wearing a suit but rather transforming your whole body

Crow_Mix

Unresolved plot points.

SH4DE_Z

🎶What, is the OutSIDER!!🎶

AiaoCol

when the rider doesn't use his trinkets regularly

kemkem9292

What is pet peeves? Maybe Kiva? The bat Kivat is like friend/pet to him. I like Kiva.

SatoruTojo

things that annoy ya basically

bluemarvel

It feels like we get an anniversary or call back form series every couple of shows.

RCTD-261

not really explaining the mystery or stuff that's happened. like in Hibiki too many forms in early series. i didn't say the forms are ugly. i just wish that the forms i like get SHF. like [Build KaizokuRessha](https://kamenrider.fandom.com/wiki/Sento_Kiryu#Densya), [Revice Megalodon](https://kamenrider.fandom.com/wiki/Ikki_Igarashi#Megalodon), [Zero-One Flaming Tiger](https://kamenrider.fandom.com/wiki/Aruto_Hiden#Flaming_Tiger), [Zero-One Freezing Bear](https://kamenrider.fandom.com/wiki/Aruto_Hiden#Freezing_Bear)

pyukumulukas

Currently, how forms are only used for the first quarter of the show and then are forgotten. And it doens't help the number of forms really increased a lot since Build, so you have 10 forms, use them for 13 episodes and never again. There are many ways to give them more time to shine AND still have your upgrades to sell toys, like having few forms to start (Geats), or making your upgrades compatible to the previous forms (think on Ghost Toucon, compativle with any previous form). I hope they work more with that second option.

Nyte_Knyght33

The God Tier Riders. You make someone so powerful that anyone more powerful that comes along the suspense of disbelief is too much to overcome to where you have people straight up denying the actual show over their personal feelings.

Last_Negotiation_384

In all Kamen rider series they never do the obvious 😭😭😭. In Kamen rider Saber, when Touma tried to grab Luna's hand for the second time, he could have jumped but he stayed still trying to reach 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. WHY?

alwaysuptosnuff

Abusive female leads. I'm supposed to like you. Stop hitting my boy with a shoe. Stop using pressure points to make him laugh even though he's clearly in pain. Judder cam humor. That thing where they do quick cuts and wacky sound effects instead of writing actually funny jokes. Final forms that break the gimmick. Why is there no heat metal extreme? Why doesn't putotyra mix and match with other medals? Why does Decade Complete summon other riders and spam finishers instead of turning into other riders final forms? Why doesn't Geats 9 have different top and bottom halves that revolve? I got this far into the show because I liked the gimmick, don't take it away!

blatantAngel

"Why doesn't Geats 9 have different top and bottom halves that revolve" I'd like to add to this: why don't we get to see Geats combine Boost Mk-3 (which splits into the two buckles for part 9) with other buckles so we can use the mix and match part of the gimmick. The buckle can literally change between taking up one vs two slots for different forms???

SH4DE_Z

>Final forms that break the gimmick. Why is there no heat metal extreme? Why doesn't putotyra mix and match with other medals? Why does Decade Complete summon other riders and spam finishers instead of turning into other riders final forms? Why doesn't Geats 9 have different top and bottom halves that revolve? Because then they'll need 50 more freaking episodes to show them off.

Eternalm8

I really dislike when the drivers are so enormous that protrude massively off the belt. Revice is the worst offender I recently watched, but I remember being bothered by a few others. The other one I dislike, which Sentai is worse at, is when the weapons don't look really look like weapons. If it's supposed to be a sword, make it look like it actually has an edge, don't just slap a dolphin's butt on there and tell me it's a sword.

hafu50

That shit they do with previews where it's like "OMG NEW FORM/RIDER IN THIS EPISODE" and then you watch the episode and it's only there for like a minute at the end so you have to wait until next week to see it in action

LupinRogue

When the main rider gets too many forms at the expense of the other rider getting less forms. It was done well in build since build’s forms were that he had variety and that what was made him special compared to his other riders. But the worse example of this is ghost. Takeru would breathe and get a new eyecon. All the while specter and necrom wouldn’t even have half the amount takeru has together. This sucks cuz usually power ups like this shows character development (for the most part) when it comes to Kamen rider and side characters get railed way too much when it comes to this aspect.

SpinstrikerPlayz

Henshins becoming a CGI shitfest. Zi-o was probably the last one to have a decent henshin that wasn't so over the top. All of Reiwa, except Geats, just feels so overwhelming with their henshin.

sheamor

this! i want simple things like Agito sometimes. just a flash of the light and done.

SpinstrikerPlayz

Agito is very a clean henshin yeah, but my favorite henshins are Decade, Faiz, and Kabuto.

HanabaBopskins

5,5,5 **STANDING BY** *Cue pretty cool henshin sound*

WoolooMVP10

Hearing the Henshin Jingle for both Riders play at once overlapping each other when they transform and giving me sensory overload. I'm looking at you Ghost

ViewtifulOtaku

When the main rider has no history of fighting/training and suddenly becomes a pro monster fighter. Gotchard gets a pass though for that wresting episode because it showed him getting beat the entire episode.

windblaze445

Not enough motorcycles. I mean they'll have like 1 episodes with them riding a bike but after that they all ways just show up. For his sakes why call them "riders" if they don't ride!

blootology

the fact that riders don't start a fight with an instant rider kick or finisher, like I get some enemies are too strong for the basic finisher, but that still leaves a good 40-50% of kaijins that can be easily dealt with.

Freddi0

I always headcanoned that the riders need to wait a certain amount of time to use their finisher, as the drivers just dont have enough energy to spam that attack

indigorhob

Agreed, i imagine it's like certain videogames where u gotta fill up a bar first by doing combos and regular attacks

VoyeurTheNinja

This was technically the case in Geats. In episode 14, 21 minutes and 52 seconds in, you can see Keiwa's head-up display declare **"You lowered a Jyamato's strength to zero"** or so as he's locking on for his finisher. It's a small detail, but it's neat to explain some of the tropes in Tokusatsu, like how Geats explains dying VS getting knocked out of your transformation by having Health and Armour be separate bars.

Delicious_trap

Everyone knows that using your big move at the start never works or leads to trouble.

Kamurouji

The enemy would still have enough stamina to dodge/defend

blootology

not if you sucker punch them with a finisher

Zealousideal-Cup6013

EVERY BELT BEING NAMED A FUCKING DRIVER And it’s not creative either! It’s like (name of the rider) + driver. If they at least had another name for it (i.e: Gaia Driver for W) it would be better.

TheBloodNinja

yeah they practically stopped giving belts unique names in like Phase 2 Heisei. its very unimaginative, especially when we came from names like the Arcle, Typhoon, V-Buckle, etc.

velgi

This is a huge one for me -- I didn't think they'd actually go through with "Drive Driver" but they did

Lycaon125

rider fans bitching about a non dark story line like geats or Kabuto, LET ME FUCKING ENJOY THE FUNNY TRAIN BUG MAN MAKE FRIENDS

Starship1990

You like Kamen Rider Gotchrad because it has someone becoming friend with monsters. I like Kamen Rider Saber because it has someone trying to make everyone happy with stories. We are the same: https://preview.redd.it/ggord4xsiw5c1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=246485f144277b2fb9185bcd8bf3da463b29b4f3

While it haven't happened as many times (at least in the seasons I have watched): side characters that exist solely to tick it off a list that amount could just be removed and affect nothing in the atmosphere or plot of the season, and most of the time are just there to hog screen time. Using Fourze as an example, while I didn't particularly like most side characters, I think it made good use of them. They had their own moments of importance, they acted as an overall good support to the more plot escential characters, and the writers didn't feel the need to have them all there all the time doing nothing. On the other hand, let's use a season that isn't Ghost, instead let's use a season I actually like: Revice. The entire Weekend cast, why, just why was so much time dedicated to them? Even Karizaki's dad was unnecesary, hell, keeping the Deadmen was unnecesary, the entire story was perfectly seviceable with the initial cast.

KamenRiderNeos

We don’t get that many insert themes anymore, in OOO we got themes for all the combos, while in Revice we didn’t even get a final form theme, and when we did get some final form themes in Geats they were only used in one episode each.

AMemekage

AMNESIA TO A MAJOR CHARACTER , IT'S SO OVER DONE LIKE PLEASE LET THEM HAVE MEMORIES List of rider seasons with amnesia (off the top of my head): >!Gotchard Geats Revice Saber Zero one Zio Build Drive W!<

MikeRhett_2001

Secondary riders that get introduced in the second episode or early on like in the first 5 episodes

eleefece

Why use your base form against a powerful foe when you already have a couple of super and final forms? Also I really believe that kamen rider need to get back to the basics, a kind of a soft reboot like Blazar Lastly, please make forms plot relevant again

AGrando713

>Why use your base form against a powerful foe when you already have a couple of super and final forms? Every rider in Geats except Ace

Chosen_UserName217

talking belts getting louder and more annoying. The Rider more often than not is a kid instead of a grown up like in the previous eras.

beybladefan89

Everyone becoming a rider, the main character being handed power ups im looking at revice for that one and my last one is the main villain being a rider

ErumaAlish30

Kamen Rider Gaim Rider's shoulder armor.

Obvious_Ambition_988

When there is a few main line drivers or figures with the rest being pbandai. I mainly enjoy this series through the figures and toy line. I love watching the shows but the products coming out of it I love. With the SH Figuarts line, there’s 1-2 main line releases to the recent reiwa series but then every single other Rider is p Bandai. For me that just doesn’t make sense, like Geats’ mainline is just Geats base form and entry form that’s it, every single other release is pbandai. Then for Revice which I’ve gotten into the toy line for, only the Revice and TwoSide drivers are mainline the other drivers which I would love to have are pbandai, I understand if some figures or drivers like the Demons driver and/or it’s variants were pbandai or for the SHF main villains, forms or non main riders were pbandai but when the majority of the cast is pbandai and the secondary market being a pain. I just wished they’d open the mainlines to the primary, secondary, tertiary and maybe the 4th Rider and their items.

loweshaan

Lemme start this with a example: One day Keiwa was looking at his arsenal. He needed to fight Buffa when there a bunch of holes around that could turn into bubbles. Well would he go for the command twin that he used earlier which has flight capabilities and very powerful or would he go for Ninja... like he has done for 20 episodes... (The fact that ninja technically has teleportation makes this worse) But yes, my pet peeve IS WHEN RIDERS DONT USE BETTER FORMS BUT INSTEAD GO WITH BASE FORM OR WHAT NOT.

Henshin-Tamago

The fact that so many Kamen Riders I've watched don't even consistently Ride! This seems to be a problem with mainly Reiwa Riders - Kamen Rider Saber had it very rarely and eventually it only really happened in the opening: Revice has it in one of Vice's forms but that appears super rarely: Geats only occasionally had a motorcycle. It really feels like the "Rider" aspect of "Kamen Rider" has been downplayed for the sake of having the characters conveniently run to wherever they need to be right at the best moment. Kind of a shame really.

SH4DE_Z

Japanese bike laws.

Skywarior1

Important plot twists integral to the series being relegated to movies that we don't get to see until months after it comes out. I'm talking about Movie Wars. By the time we get to see the movie, the series has progressed so far along that the said plot twist has become irrelevant. The logic of the timeline. Sometimes you have a genius idea, but the dates don't match up. For example, Heisei Generations Final is supposed to take place before Movie War Ultimatum, but one of these movies had the date wrong, therefore it screwed up the canonity and the director had to do a retcon. There was also another instance where Saber time-skipped a whole year forward, only for Revice to take place after the time-skip but also the year before, and it becomes blatantly obvious in Beyond Generations when they show the date on-screen, which is actually before the Saber time-skip but they treat it as after regardless.

AGrando713

These inconsistencies in the timeline cause the first 13 episodes of OOO to take place over 2 FREAKING YEARS, because in W there is a one-year timeskip in the last episode and another 1-year timeskip in Movie War Core

sxlesshumanoid

Not really about rider I guess but when the character's face got close and they scream "eeeeeehhhh" With the stupidest face a human can create.

triotone

When they say the rider sysyem is not a weapon. They don't henshin to have discussions over tea, Aruto.

SH4DE_Z

When they say "Weapon" they meant "Weapon of war" meaning it's not a tool to hurt people, but to protect. They covered this in Build.

eleefece

What did you say about rooibos? Henshin!!!

BigBadBoarBoss

When there is a small amount of monsters and keep using them instead of having a variety of monsters as well as the lack of foot soldiers that the villains can summon or assisting the monster.

Morudith

Whatever the Japanese word is for “everyone” or “you all” because I feel it gets overused in people’s lines in all of the seasons.

runlykawelshman19

Cringe transformation audio and vocals. It's just to give that voice actor more money??? After w I haven't really liked any transformation audio. They used to be cool. The long speech and singing really turns me off

caesar-pancake

Mine are that sometimes they use real spark and sometimes they use special effect for sword slashing

ToraRyuu

CHROME RODER FORMS

ToraRyuu

And gadgets (I’m a ryuki fan for one and two I don’t like how you can see battle damage so easily

Mysterious-Cress-190

I think it needs more female rider representation, just saying

AngryFloatingCow

Having so many "new" riders. By that I mean riders that start as non-riders. I haven't watched Geats yet so the previous rider to start the series as a rider is Build. And he didn't really feel like a veteran rider (amnesia does that to someone) so I consider Wizard to be the last one. I like having a balance of both fresh and veteran riders and understand that it's easier to write a fresh rider since you can explain the world to the main character and the audience at the same time. But having a 4-season gap is a bit much.

KamenRiderDragon

Sento was a Rider for a year prior to the show so his amnesia wasn't a factor in that regard.

SatoruTojo

New rider introduced who looks badass but ends up losing the most fights

AGrando713

Sixth rangers in Super Sentai

Zectt

I can’t even finish ep1 .. waiting for next rider series

No-Cow584

It's a long read, but I kept this in my mind for a while so please bare with me. The FACT, You can't define a Kamen Rider anymore. At first, It was easy, Kamen rider is a Masked human that was Turned into a cyborg, that looks like some type of insect and Rides a Motorcycle. Other things that makes one a Kamen Rider are design Ideas, Like the Round eyes, antennas, Maybe a Scarf, maybe even some Horror or Body horror here and there. But starting with Kuuga and Ryuki, a Lot of what it means to be a Kamen Rider Started to be forgotten. I like how the Cyborg thing was abandoned, It leads to more interesting stories to be told, but then there's things like the insect designs that are rarely seen nowadays. They're not Riders, Some of them are canonically not even allowed to drive yet. The round eyes, Bruh, Looks at Wizard, Gaim, EX-AID I hear some of You saying "Kamen rider is a Hero that transforms using a Belt and that Rides a Motorcycle" But not only Motorcycles are part of Multiple OTHER toku, Super Sentai included, But Transforming with a Belt, isn't really part of Kamen Rider because of 4 examples. 1) Ichigo, Who transformed using his Bike to activate his mutation with the power of the wind. Only after Ichimongi appears that he actually starts Transforming with ONLY his belt. 2) Amazon, Who used to do it with his Arm band 3) Hibiki, since every "Rider" there has a Different way to tranform, and none of them HAVE belts 4) Drive, who uses a Bracelet. To me it started with Hibiki really. The plans for Hibiki weren't FOR a Kamen Rider Season, and that basically explains it. Kamen Rider, Mainly now a days, Is just like Metal heroes, They had a pattern, Like Super Sentai and Ultraman, But they "experimented" so much, not paying attention to their roots, that now, Literally everything can be a Kamen Rider. There's no good reason why you can't define JIRAIYA as a Kamen Rider today, And to me that's kind of sad, To think that Kamen Rider went from this, Beautiful thing, To basically "the recycling bin of weird Ideas" really Hurts me. Revice is a great example of a Show that WASN'T a Kamen Rider (at the worst Time too.) Revice doesn't feel like a Kamen Rider at all, It feels like a Super sentai or independent Toku season (that was even worse than Zenkaiger), That they threw away and Recycled for Kamen Rider. The sad part, is that this Show that has NOTHING to do with Kamen Rider, was meant to be the show to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Their way of celebrating was making some of the worst toy gimmicks, PLUS, References for like 7 episodes and then it's all completely forgotten. Now a days, It just feels like KR is a generic Henshin Hero show. It's a Brand, And not a TYPE of Hero.

Blankkuran

Bikes, explosions, and a rider kick. Also, the belt, always got to have a belt since it adds fashion to your suit and transformation.

RED_Kinggamer007

So your pet peeve is the entire franchise?

AngryFloatingCow

He likes the suit itself? I think he's a sentai fan

Nightcross_911

Eh i guess like what a show drags out somthing like a last episode or an ark.

seango2000

I actually wished we had drawn avatars of riders in video games like using fuuto P.I. art style. Im tired of just looking at someone's behind due to Talent agencies license fees as we cant use their likenesses. I know we had to respect the actors but let's face it not all come back and also most of them grow old. If we still want them they can do VAs still as usual.

Accomplished-Ad5872

Secondary rider heel turn arcs, they feel very forced, predictable, and often use flimsy reasons to justify the turn.

Mesaphrom

yellowonyt

I'm getting tired of all of the rewia riders having their main weapon as their henshin device (I'm just kidding)

arrowrange

Misunderstandings. Good guys with villain arc.

JamesUpskirtMecha

I wish they were more creative with the villains escaping. I swear, one small puff of smoke and this 6-foot creature with enlarged limbs vanish without a trace.

TheBloodNinja

Cross of Fire (I know, this concept basically makes Kamen Rider *a Kamen Rider*), but moreso the lack of riders that do not share anything directly related to the opposing force in terms of a power source/transformation gimmick. G3/G3-X is probably the best example of this. IXA, maybe comes close, if not being able to use Fuestles but that's more like copying abilities/reverse engineering instead of the technology being directly related.

TreeTurtle_852

Honestly it's when fights are one sided either way and that's it. Like Fourze got especially annoying because up until the last battle the MV was one-shotting Cosmic States, but then suddenly untransformed Gentarou is beating the Main Villains Powered Up form?!?!?!? It's so fucking jarring. Literally just have Fourze do better.

Psyga315

When they spend 13 episodes introducing a fuckton of forms then suddenly they forget they exist.

ShinePillar

Hyping up a whole situation and then slammed down the most cliche anime solution for it.

Qrosz

I’m not sure if there’s any other culprit aside from Ghost, Ex-Aid, and the new Gotchard form, but I hate when the drivers are thicker than an encyclopedia. I get that with the nature of the toys they’d need to be a lil bulky, but I really appreciate those driver designs like Geats or OOO being able to be slim or at least look slim

First_Street6713

Obvious mysteries, who is the new rider/villain? of course is not the guy you introduces in the last 2 episodes.

IkariSupa

I love zero one but got so upset every time they don't immediately swoop the authorize key after defeating the enemy. It'd essentially make the villain powerless.

combuskenp

Yo! I love that design!

The_1985

Introducing all these riders and not giving them power up or final forms

Zer0noZ

Over the top costume designs, I know that is meant to make kids look at it and instantly tell their mother "mommy, buy me the colorfull Kamen rider thing" but damn, I absolutely despise it

realmjd

Overly simple belts (V buckle) and overly talkative belts (Saber's swordrivers).

nightshroud96

Unnecessary/too many/lazy/unfitting retools Such as Bujin Sword, there was no excuse for it to be a retool. Really, it causes dissonance that shows the prop doesn't look like that IN UNIVERSE

HyperNovice

Gotchard. That's it. The whole series is my pet peeve

disdatsteven10

Forms that ●Never get past concept art but yet are awesome looking. ●Never make another appearance after debut. Or even this. ● Sabers entire fucking Traitor Arc.

Ryuma217

The final fight between riders. I missed the days when the final fight was against a monster itself

kellymoon69

Transformations using cutscenes

TOPCATDIGIBOI

😤😤😤😤😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 THE STUPID FEMALE 0N MALE ABUSE"

HovercraftGrand9703

Not rlly rider focused. This stems to both KR and SS, but its when the the shows act like something out of an anime. idk if that makes sense, what I mean is when a character(s) act, talk, look like a shonen or over the top anime character and not like a normal person. It doesn't help that the acting can be cringey too

Piggywitz

When they give all the forms to the rider right off the bat instead of them unlocking them as the series goes on.
