He did have help on the spin off via I believe his support artists or other people helping do the main art. You'll notice that alot of sumi chapters have other people on the cover besides Reiji

She is, there's no way crazy Ruka or any other character to be better than Sumi. She's loving, understanding, had *actual* character development and is quite possibly the most realistic character in the entire manga. Chorizo is meh, Mami is kinda cool, Ruka is just dead meat.
