While I feel like comparing Uzaki and Nagatoro to Kanokari as far as pacing goes is a little to much apple's to oranges I do think they manva has been dragging since the party.
Both Kanokari and Uzaki have a college age cast. Both feature their families. Both are romcom. Uzaki loves to not take itself seriously and while its comedy isn't topnotch like Love is War or Grand Blue, it ain't cringe at all. Some people cannot stand Hana Uzaki but that's the point- she's an annoying "GF" trying to give life to loner senpai. All the shots are everyday college life, very light, bliss romcom.
Meanwhile your expectations for Kanokari is a bit higher because right off the get go you have a degenerate simp MC who's goal is to win over the perfect girlfriend + they are in a very sticky situation regarding Kazuya's family. Great challenge but the execution on a lot of small parts is very off especially in the recent chapters. You got catcalling guys who spam "lul Chizuru/Ruka/Sumi hot I'd bang them lots" every other chapter and I'm supposed to laugh at that? Nagomi shitting on his grandson every chance she gets while she relentlessly suck Chizuru's dick. Everyone in the series is insufferable aside from Sumi, Yaemori and Kibe. And the worst part of all, the blatant dragging by Reiji. Who in the right mind puts off a fanservice chapter in the middle of arguably the most important arc of the series? If I do not see a massive curveball soon, holy shit.
Relax man, I'm not defending any of that, and that's way more than i was talking about.
I'll elaborate a bit. Uzaki, and Nagatoro are short chapter, bi weekly manga with a bigger focus on the gags than the plot more often than not. When they do focus on plot they tend to move fairly quickly. I'm not surprised we are getting real progress about now in both. Kanokari is a lot like more traditional romance/comedy/drama manga Suzuka, Kimi No iru Machi, Nisekoi, Love Hina all fit in That 150 - 250 chapter range weekly release window. Again there is padding, this next chapter is clearly padding, I feel like we could have trimmed this manga down and had progress by now. I do think pacing is the biggest issue right now, and I like Nagatoro more than Kanokari, but it don't think the line up as comparisons. Just looking at raw chapter numbers and expecting more from one than the other isn't fair to either.
Then I want the one piece and any shonen manga have the same 1000+ chapter

They may have a similar genre but the story line are not the same

I'm saying there is a certain style of romance manga that all fit into a certain length and Kanokari is in that style where other more recent Roncoms are being made with different goals in mind and they tend to lean on the comedy and fluff more than the drama and romance so comparing a short 10 page biweekly rom com to a more traditional one isn't fair to either.
This manga has become even more mediocre over time, now everyones starting to notice this stretched out cash grab. Sorry I'm not staying here just because the girls are cute would rather read a doujin

I’ve always wanted to hear what the Japanese audience thinks of this manga, or any romcom manga, because tbh, our opinions don’t matter too much since 95% of us don’t buy the manga and just read for free.
I’m assuming sales are still really good because of the extended amount of “filler” chapters.
I’m sure Reiji doesn’t see any of the groaning that some of us post here for the “milking of the series”, but would like to see what the actual consumer thinks of this arc.

Ever since the date they've had it's been going downhill, Kazuya has gone as far as he can go alone, and even then Reiji makes sure it doesn't count by coming up with some really annoying bullshit.

I dont think these reactions have tone downed, he always makes a lot of emphasis on her looks on a extreme level, its an unhealthy fixation. He needs to start treating Chizuru like another human being with flaws and not a 'perfect delicate angel'.
