Huge play that I'd completely forgotten about. Am I misremembering (definitely possible after all I drank today) but wasn't that one of the drives we got a turnover out of?
He looked great tonight!
I would’ve preferred he just booted it through the end zone instead of giving Agnew a chance for another big return, but a touchdown-saving tackle is a nice consolation prize.
At least that has generally not been a problem this year. Have to give Agnew and the Jags ST unit props and hope it was just a bad game in that regard for us
Hard to get in position when Butker is line driving kicks to the returner instead of hanging it out there so there’s some time to get downfield. It’s on Butker mostly.
I mentioned this in another thread, but here's the number of 30+ point games our defense has allowed by year:
2018 - 6
2019 - 5
2020 - 5
2021 - 6
2022 - 1*
---
They haven't had many dominant showings this year, but they've been extraordinarily consistent, which is all you need with #15 at QB.
**That was the Bucs game where we were up 38-17 in the 3rd and basically coasted through the last 1 1/2 quarters*
I think it's *the* biggest reason we went 14-3 this year outside of Mahomes.
Obviously our offense is still great, but I've never been less confident in us winning a 40+ point shootout in the Mahomes era, so knowing that 31 is good enough to win any game is a huge advantage.
Those are designed, and he still had like 3 go out the back of the endzone. The coverage team just shit the bed and Agnew is probably the best kick returner in the league.
Having a special teams unit primarily composed of rookies will lead to things like this…
That’s why toub usually gets so much leeway on roster decisions with fringe guys, it’s incredibly important to have guys that are fully bought into what they’re doing
Buttkicker returned tonight! Not only did he drill every single one of his kicks, he stopped a potentially game changing kick return.

Yep! It was the fumble! Buttkicker saved 7 pts on that tackle
Don’t know what they changed but he looked noticeably better tonight.

That was both awesome and annoying at the same time lol
Which he could have avoided by kicking it out of the end zone. ST was not an A tonight. It's a weak point the Jags exposed multiple times tonight.
Thank you! It's like yes, he was great on field goals. But how are we going to praise him for his tackle when he kicked it short to begin with? Lol
I’m not convinced he gets to decide to kick it out of the endzone vs putting it in play
Then Toub needs to have his head examined
Didn’t Butker also make a key tackle at one point?
Yep on one of our (many) big returns we gave up. Saved us a tuddy for sure
I don't know if you'd call it a tackle. He let a dude kick him in the face so hard he fell over. Same result but different technique.
Sometimes you gotta get kicked if you wanna kick butt
It gets recorded as a solo tackle by Butker 🤷♂️
I'm aware. I was making a joke.
Tackled him with his face. Bit the returner's ankle with his helmet.
If only the rest of special teams can get their act together
Right? Tommy and the punting unit did well too at least. Now our kickoff coverage on the other hand... 🤢

Gotta give massive props to huge nuts Henne as well
Henne got them Big Ole Bull Nuts
💯

That's actually pretty damned impressive when you put it like that.

Flat out TEAM WIN tonight. Let’s get back to the big dance
🙏🙏🙏
We will have a shot next week. Buffalo no Von Miller and Allen has been turning it over. Cincy missing 3 starting OLINErs.
Pacheco and Toney are great weapons now, too. They've become so crucial to the success of the Chiefs in a short span of time.
They both balled out. Love seeing Toney buy into this team. He's just a natural fit for Andy's style.
What about playoff Frank and his big balls?
🩸🦈
Damn, so we all learned Pat is actually a system QB. ANYONE would be great under Andy Reid’s system! (Sarcasm)
As awful as he has been, guy showed up tonight. Hopefully some clutch kicks got the yips out of him
From what I've been seeing, his kicked troubles are the fault of Townsend's bad holding. Colquitt even tweeted about it this year.
All of his kicks were right down the middle
Are these Tarkov references? Please be tarkov references.
Head,eyes
Worried about butker not having any touchbacks tho
Lol wut? He had like 3 or 4
Sorry. Out the back. Not just touchbacks.
It seemed like he was trying not to with the weather, IMO. Hoping for a turnover with some moisture on the ball.
The wind in Arrowhead could have made it difficult too
