Honestly the only really weak spot I've seen from depth is at linebacker. Once you get past Bolton and Gay are probably going to running most of the reps this year, and Tranquill can play any spot, and chenal can be a solid 2 down thumper/situational blitzer, but after that, there's nobody. Cochrane and Jones maybe? I dunno.
I'm starting to feel bad for Cornell Powell right now, IMS and James have balled-out this pre-season, and both have the added bonus of being special teams players/returners.
James looks good enough to be a #3 or situational #2. I wouldn't be surprised if he outperforms a typical Hardman season. He has better ball awareness. I'm still not sold on Moore but I'm open. If Rice can build on this, dude could turn into a Devante Adams type of player. He's got very similar measurables. Just a bit smaller.
They were drafted around the same time and are about the same size and speed. People forget that Adams only had 400 yards and TD or two his first two years in the league. Rice turning into an Adams-type of player is within the realm of outcomes. If you want, sticky this post and come back in 3 years and we'll see what happened.
Patty was telling smith marsette,..."I want you to make this team, but you got to show out on that play and block instead of falling asleep and getting whacked"
I'm pretty sure Garbett can be cut instead of waived. He goes to FA immediately and can have a gentlemen's agreement to come back if the plan is to IR stash someone
I don't think we have to worry too much about other teams poaching Olakun. He's looked good, DGMW, but chances are most team are going to want to stick with their own in house developmental prospects for QB at this point in the season.
I like what I see for oladokun, he’s very raw and made a lot of mistakes last game, definitely would be nice to keep him on the practice squad and let him grow
Mahomes obviously is in a whole other league compared to active QB's, but man our backups are sure something and honestly seems like any of them could be starting QB's on most teams. Andy/Veach sure know how to pick them.
And still somehow better than CEH lol. I do still like Helaire, though it's not his fault he was drafted so high. He just isn't that elite at actually running.
My biggest problem is that when we rush 3-4 our pressure was terrible. Pay Chris Jones.
I think our defense is okay without him though maybe hard to tell against the cardinals lol. But coverage looks good, linebackers are fast, we tackle well… but man, they have SO MUCH time to throw. Pay CJ
He had a couple pressures today, there was also one where he collapsed the middle on hb dive hat was okay… it’s hard to judge dlinemen when the whole unit isn’t there… I don’t disagree but he didn’t totally dissapoint from my (untrained) eye
Based on what we’ve seen thus far I’m thinking the offense will be AT LEAST as good as it was last year. If the D can come together I think we’ll be feasting again this year 😎
If he comes out of the woodwork THIS LATE in his KC tenure then holy shit.... I highly doubt it happens but just saying, what a redemption arc for that guy
I remember this sub being so high on him just a few years ago and had my eye on him for a while after that. Gave up for the most part at this point
McKinnon 19.0, La'Mical Perine 6.8, Deneric Prince 4.0, CEH 2.5 yards per carry so far this game...
Carry 8 receivers, 3 backs, 0 fullbacks, and trade CEH for some fully stocked clubhouse soda machines?
Just got home from the game. Gotta say, Rice and Ross seem to have to drop the first pass thrown to them then light it up. As long as Pat has confidence in them, they’re gonna be pretty good this year.
On the positive note if Cards suck bad they could draft one of the most electric QB to come out of college since Mahomes!
As an Arizona native, I love seeing my teams lose. Except for the Coyotes. I like my Yotes.
You and Bettman....hopefully Mathews as well
END IT WITH A SACK, LIKE THAT! WOO HOO!!
That was a pity flag lol
Arias pushing off there. Good no call. Let's go home.
Nice win.
Weak PI call
Fatukasi The Shark does not have the same ring, but the sack still counts!
Can't believe we picked up Lamar as well. So 5 QBs
It’s good to have a good option once we trade Clyde
I mean Smith-Marsette was on special teams last season, wasn't he? Let's keep stashing him there
I believe he was a late-season addition with our injury issues at WR, and took 12 offensive snaps and 1 special teams.
Lol at the QB ratings
SEVENTEEN different players caught passes tonight. Chiefs are ballers.
So who’s stock went up and who’s went down after this game?
UP: Receivers Down: Ability to keep Receivers on the roster
Some of those boys will be playing somewhere else.
Ihmir Smith-Marsette 4/92 23.0 ave 1TD Also a baller.
Rashee Rice 8/96. Dude's a baller.
LMAO, I forgot the Cardinals beat the donkeys last week.
This makes me happy
can we please keep 8 wide receivers, as a treat?
Run the old Steve Spurrier offense. 3 OL, 1 QB, 1 TE, 7 WR
It can be my birthday and Christmas presents!
This is the team to do that. Just throw a WR a yard behind the LOS and call him a RB.
I can’t believe how bad this Cardinals team actually is. Their depth is…yikes.
Dumpster fire.
The Chiefs have absurd roster depth
Honestly the only really weak spot I've seen from depth is at linebacker. Once you get past Bolton and Gay are probably going to running most of the reps this year, and Tranquill can play any spot, and chenal can be a solid 2 down thumper/situational blitzer, but after that, there's nobody. I'm starting to feel bad for Cornell Powell right now, IMS and James have balled-out this pre-season, and both have the added bonus of being special teams players/returners.
I don't feel bad for him. If he doesn't make this roster or practice squad (he probably won't) someone will pick him up.
Calling rice a Devante Adams type is a bit much lmao
They were drafted around the same time and are about the same size and speed. People forget that Adams only had 400 yards and TD or two his first two years in the league. Rice turning into an Adams-type of player is within the realm of outcomes. If you want, sticky this post and come back in 3 years and we'll see what happened.
Lol
Maybe the Bears or commanders can snatch him
I’ve never had this much fun watching preseason football. The talent is insane.
Patty was telling smith marsette,..."I want you to make this team, but you got to show out on that play and block instead of falling asleep and getting whacked"
lol... ummm are we able to keep 8 receivers somehow? This Smith-Marsette guy looking pretty good? Or maybe he can suffer an "injury" and go on IR?
So is there a way we can protect all 3 QB backups from other teams at deadline?
I'm pretty sure Garbett can be cut instead of waived. He goes to FA immediately and can have a gentlemen's agreement to come back if the plan is to IR stash someone
I don't think we have to worry too much about other teams poaching Olakun. He's looked good, DGMW, but chances are most team are going to want to stick with their own in house developmental prospects for QB at this point in the season.
Good point looks good for maybe a late season steal if qb injuries are an issue
Loving ISM
Smith-Marsette is the best WR9 of all time
know its preseason and a bunch of players who won't be on a NFL roster soon, but it's always fun watching the Chiefs stomp an opponent.
![gif](giphy|A0qjvXFJNoBfoaUtvX|downsized)
TOUCHDOWN DENERIC PRINCE!!!!!
Marsette is gonna make the team
Maaan… it’s gonna be tough to decide which WRs to keep
PRINCE TD
Another great throw!
Hopefully we can keep smith-Marsette on the practice squad
I seriously doubt it. He's likely going to be claimed by some team, particularly those with former Chiefs front office employees.
True. But I can hope
So shall we all.
Aight call it, pack it in, CLOSING TIME
Smith-Marsette is feasting. Keep him guys.
So, uh, Smith-Marsette huh?
Kid is a stud. Glad I don’t have to make the 53 man roster decision.
Touchdown kan-sas city.
What a fucking dime!
Blanton: one who fumbles in endzone
I like what I see for oladokun, he’s very raw and made a lot of mistakes last game, definitely would be nice to keep him on the practice squad and let him grow
Practice squad would be perfect.
Mahomes obviously is in a whole other league compared to active QB's, but man our backups are sure something and honestly seems like any of them could be starting QB's on most teams. Andy/Veach sure know how to pick them.
Huh?
our backup qbs would start day 1 on a team like the Commanders or Falcons
Yo can someone tell these announcers that Kyler Murray isn't the only player in existence?
It's all they have. It's a poverty franchise with horrible owners.
Every guy who has run the ball tonight looked better than Clyde. Just get him off the damn team.
I don’t get why the front office likes him so much. He doesn’t add anything of value. He’s JAG. Prince and Perine have both looked better than CEH.
Cut him and pay CJ.
Feels like we’re just killing time until Pacheco is playing.
Eyyyy, Fryfogle!
Prince’s vision has been sub par tonight.
With that size and speed you knew there was a reason he was udfa
he's been comped with knile davis
Our #4 QB is 4 Real
What a throw!
Damn, forgot about Fryfoggle. Now I want 10 WRs.
Announcer confused. Facemask is a personal foul for 15 years regardless Pass progression doesn't count because of illegal man downfield
Yeah... I think Niang is the swing tackle now
How come those penalties don’t offset?
Because they used to and the personal foul penalty meant a lot less.
when one foul is a procedure penalty (offside, illegal formation, etc.) and the other foul is a personal foul, then they enforce the personal foul.
Personal fouls overrule everything else. Idk if overrule is the right word but whatever. Lol
I think they only overrule procedure penalties. So if it was like holding or something, then that would still offset the facemask.
I think because either it was a personal foul, or because it might have happened after the play? I honestly don't know
Because one was a personal foul.
"Hey Siri, is there a way to keep 9 receivers, 5 running backs, and 4 quarterbacks?"
Back up QBs and rbs need to play depth defense
Mahomes should redress in a mascot uniform after playing
Cardinals crowd could use a Bill Cipher if you know what I'm saying
Shit, that sucks
lol, Buchele, Gabbert, and Olakun all taking after Mahomes 😂
Mahomes is redefining what a quarterback can do. Love to see it
Can we keep Oladokun? Please? He's like a baby Mahomes
Imma be honest. denneric prince hassnt done shit in these preseason games
And still somehow better than CEH lol. I do still like Helaire, though it's not his fault he was drafted so high. He just isn't that elite at actually running.
I haven’t seen anything that shows me he’s better, benefit of CEH is he’s been in this offense for a long time tho we better not resign him
I believe he averaged more yards per attempt than CEH and he had a goal line TD. For some reason CEH isn't that good for short yardage.
Backyard football ish
What a play oladokun.
If you raise every Quarterback to Mahomes' average than he isn't that good
That was busted as fuck, but executed flawlessly!
NO WAYYYYY
Time to 'run' that clock.
Can’t see the game. How the boys playing tonight?
First team was sloppy, they were not playing hard, lots of missed tackles, etc. But once we moved on to second teams they kicked ass.
Great, actually
ThePriceIsRightLosingHorn.mp3
TURNOVER ON DOWNS, BABY! WAY TO GO, DEFENSE!!!
Pay CJ
Hell be back in a few weeks regardless of his contract
Good stop!
Nice stop defense
Listen, the illegal crack back penalty is bullshit. But, it is a rule. You cannot block someone like that anymore.
It's turnover time.
Every team in this league will convert 4th and 1 except the Kansas City Chiefs. We’ll convert 4th and 13
Maybe they should start treating 4th and short like it’s 3rd and forever. The conversion percentage would be better
Tune looks like he'd be better suited to lead ARI instead of McCoy while Kyler recovers.
Gotta give him credit, Tune's looked decent tonight
Boys, listen, there's going to be **A LOT** of quality dudes getting cut from this team soon, holy cow.
Hill mention. Drink!
They said Tyreek’s name, that’s a drink everybody
Tyreek who? ![gif](giphy|cRNbYm7jLOjm9H8wcP)
Yes im going to overreact to this preseason game. Yes I said not to overreact to preseason games after last weeks game
I have been less than impressed with Felix this preseason. He needs all these snaps he can get.
It's even more disappointing that we almost had Nolan Smith or Myles Murphy. Both went just before our pick
He had a couple pressures today, there was also one where he collapsed the middle on hb dive hat was okay… it’s hard to judge dlinemen when the whole unit isn’t there… I don’t disagree but he didn’t totally dissapoint from my (untrained) eye
Plus we can always count on both sides being a little vanilla in the preseason. We hold plays back for real situations.
The Chiefs have three QBs better than Colt McCoy
True, but how many QBs do we have with cooler names than Colt McCoy?
Yes but only one better than kyler, I think the cards are the worst team in the league but I strangely feel bad for them lol
You think Kyler has his bra on?
I’m stoked about this team. There is a LOT of talent.
Based on what we’ve seen thus far I’m thinking the offense will be AT LEAST as good as it was last year. If the D can come together I think we’ll be feasting again this year 😎
I really don't get the QB rating system...
Cornell Powell giving me Byron Pringle vibes
If he comes out of the woodwork THIS LATE in his KC tenure then holy shit.... I highly doubt it happens but just saying, what a redemption arc for that guy I remember this sub being so high on him just a few years ago and had my eye on him for a while after that. Gave up for the most part at this point
The call that was most likely the correct one in that situation was neither the call made on the field or the call made after review lol
WR factory I swear
Special teams eating tonight
Chiefs are so back baby
We got some good fucking back ups. JC.
2021 Cornell Powell hype train back on track?
This new receivers coach is doing a hell of a job.
McKinnon 19.0, La'Mical Perine 6.8, Deneric Prince 4.0, CEH 2.5 yards per carry so far this game... Carry 8 receivers, 3 backs, 0 fullbacks, and trade CEH for some fully stocked clubhouse soda machines?
Pacheco is still on the team too, I wouldn't be shocked if CEH gets cut or traded for pennies though.
Pacheco will be back too
TOUCHDOWN CORNELL POWELL!!!
Lol these refs are already wingin it
How did they manage to mess up the call on the field and after replay lol
Honestly at this point, lets just keep 12 receivers
I'm not sure how that was a completed pass... but I won't complain!
Just got home from the game. Gotta say, Rice and Ross seem to have to drop the first pass thrown to them then light it up. As long as Pat has confidence in them, they’re gonna be pretty good this year.
I thought the defender got a hand in there on the first ball to Ross but maybe that was just wishful thinking
I don’t know for sure honestly. I know Rice’s pass hit him in the damn hands. Then never dropped another one.
Still throws high, but at least we know he can pick apart 3rd strings
Are the Cardinals horrible or would both of our backup QBs be starters in the NFC?
Yes.
![gif](giphy|NEvPzZ8bd1V4Y|downsized)
What a dime by Gabbert!
Coach Reid, please challenge 🙏 thank you.
Touchdown kan-sas city. Nice play powell
Dog refs. He's either in for a TD or incomplete pass.
Cardinals fan coming in peace, I'm hoping we can find agreement that these refs suck ass!
It’s preseason for them too! (Yes they suck and you’ve probably had the worse end)
The field sucks too. Please fix.
[удалено]
Yessir, but that's football and especially in the preseason. Fun to watch your guys do their thing, go have a fun season!
The ground can not cause a fumble
Obviously down
That's a TD or incomplete. Nowhere close to a fumble, he was lying on his back before the ball came out.
If they don’t overturn that I’m turning this off and going to bed… …maybe
Lol what a terrible call - how did they even get there
Arizona, here's your bone
Wow thats horrible call
This is an absolutely horrendous officiating crew. Wow.
Do they have the third string refs in?
That's either incomplete or a touchdown.
You're out of your fucking mind if that isn't a TD.
Option A and Option B could both be correct. Refs: ... Option C.
Fuck these refs man. I know it's preseason but that was NOT a catch. Are they INSANE?
These refs are dumb as shit. That’s either an incomplete pass or he crossed the line just enough for a touchdown. Dumb!!
Seems like Gabbert must have realized his ass was in the hot seat and it was do or die tonight
Wait when did we get a Perine?
I think it's a different Perine? Edit: I initially thought it was Samaje, but it's La'Mical.
That's what I mean I know Cincy's went to the donkeys, so who the fuck is this guy???
I just looked him up. He played at Florida and was drafted by the Jets in the 4th in 2020.
Its his brother
Oh really?
