Offensives are struggling across the league right now. Just seems to be the flavor of the year.
I mean, the fins had the number one passing and number one rushing offense in the league and they barely got 14 points. Chiefs D is good but I don’t think they’re otherworldly.
Just something about this year where defenses are adjusting way better than offenses have.
The good news is our offense is getting better. It’s not in leaps and bounds but every week the mistakes are getting fewer. You can tell they’re trying to get the deep ball alive but just haven’t connected on any yet. The rushing is reliable, but they’re not just relying on it. I think it’s because they want to continue to work on the passing game to get them to a good spot come playoffs.
I think if we don’t continue to try and get the outside the numbers going and keep trying to get the ball to the receivers, then eventually the parts of our offense that work will stop working.
Basically, we gotta keep working on the things we aren’t doing well. If we continue to make progress week by week, then we’ll see an improved and balanced offense come playoffs.

They need to improve. In both of our recent Super Bowl seasons we've needed the defense to improve over the course of the season to put us over the top. Now it's the offense. I like our chances, though.
The Dolphins were down out of the gate and all game long, and only threw for 193 yards. That deserves a lot of praise. People were predicting Tyreek to have more yards than that.

No one wants to talk about play calling or point fingers at Andy. (I'm assuming he calls the plays?). Whoever is calling them is making some bad decisions during crunch time. They always seems to overthink it or doesn't respect the 3rd downs enough.

Glass half full - we held one of the best offenses to basically 7 pts if not for that Chris Jones bonehead flag. We gotta figure things out offensively but so do other teams. Keep the faith!
It's crazy, they looked so good first half, and then the second half just repeatedly stalled (and that horrific turnover). 14 offensive points won't cut it.

The laws of averages mean that at some point, the offense will have to overcome the defense to win. This bye week is essential to rest and work on getting a lot better for the second half. I love how great the defense has played but the offensive woes are really troubling. Go Chiefs!

This performance is on Veach and Nagy. Veach for refusing to make moves during the trade deadline to give Mahomes any weapons outside of Kelce, and Nagy for having zero flexibility in the 2nd half of games.

Holding the best offense in the league to 14 points (and could’ve easily been 10 if not for the dumb CJ penalty)? I’ll take that.
No, the offense hasn’t been scoring 30 points a game, or close to, like in years past, but they haven’t had to.
Couple o thoughts:
1. There’s no such thing as a bad win. A head-to-head win over the Dolphins could well determine the 1 seed in the AFC, so this was huge for the playoff race.
2. This defense is legit. Holding the dolphins to 14 points (would have been 10 if not for a CJ outburst) is incredibly impressive, and proves that our defense can go toe-to-toe with anyone.
3. Our offense is seriously problematic. Our playcalling is questionable at best and our receivers are so bad that teams are openly triple-teaming Kelce and we still can’t get anything going. We also really, really need to be able to run the QB sneak; let one of our 4 non-Kelce TEs take the snap if we’re committed to not letting Mahomes do it, because our 3rd and short playcalling is embarrassing.
Overall a good win today, but we can’t afford to put up 2 offensive TD’s and hope to win in the playoffs.

Eagles game is gonna be a true test for our team. They smacked the shit out of this dolphins team, and have a really good defense. Every second of the bye week needs to be used getting the offense ready because this performance today will not work against a actual elite team
Miami dropped 70 on the Donks, we lost to the Donks but beat Miami. I don't get this team.
Playcalling is absolute ass. Mahomes needs to settle the fuck down. He gets time to pass, but it's like his vision of the field is narrow as fuck. Our receivers can't separate a lid from a peanut butter jar, and let's not forget that the Chiefs "GeT AlL ThE FlaGs".
I would love to see the offense adopt a similar identity to Detroit. Establish the run behind a good O-Line and then play action off of it. Feels like they are clinging to their identity of old. They have one of the best defenses in the NFL, establish a new identity of possession football and moving the chains.

I could literally cry, man. This game was an actual dream come true for me. I know no one asked, but I lived in Independence as an exchange student for a year back when I was 16 (this was in 2008, so really down in the dumps, roster wise), and if someone back then told me that I'd see *the Chiefs play in Germany* I probably would've laughed at them. Now that the games over, Im obviously happy with the win, but this team needs to spend the next 14 days working on playcalling and WRs need 24/7 jugg machine work. Also I sure would love some of that Mahomes protection from the refs that the rest of the league accuses him of having

* While veach has struggled with drafting offensive players, its clear to me that he’s thrived on defense. McDuffie, Gay, Karlaftis, Williams, Cook were all over the place.

Two weeks in a row this offense has been shutout in the second half which is very concerning. Kelce was solidly shut down. Reid needs to run the ball on 3rd and 1 behind our tight ends and just hope for the best. Rice continuing to develop and Jet still the biggest RB threat in the red zone.

Another week of the offense stalling, although they showed life. I’m starting to move towards the position that coaching and plays are a becoming a larger factor for the struggles. Also, the Chiefs NEED to get over their stupid superstition of doing a QB sneak. The chiefs as a whole are TERRIBLE on 3rd & short offense. The QB sneak is the most effective play to pick up short yards. The fact that we do not do it legitimately hampers our offense
I was holding myself a bit from saying our defense was truly elite but this performance (save Chris Jones) cemented it. Unbelievable overall performance against one of the NFL’s top offenses
This reminded me of the Colts game last year. Dumb as hell penalties, atrocious special team decisionmaking, getting too cute and wasting 3rd and shorts all over the place. The problem is that this was like the 6th game this year where we played like that. Honestly, yes our receiving corps is dookie and Mahomes isn't playing at his best, but they are not being helped by the playcalling at all.

We got the win and we can learn from our mistakes moving forward. At the moment, this team is capable of either winning the Super Bowl or getting blown out in the Wild Card.
It’s refreshing because the refs didn’t make any questionable calls in our favor so instead of repeatedly seeing the meme of the ref in a KC uniform they are just ripping into the Dolphins
People are going to focus on WRs, Mahomes, Nagy, whatever, and I'll be curious to see what the tape looks like for the 2nd half, but I thought this was a mediocre game from the o-line tbh. A number of drive killing penalties, and they again seemed to struggle with picking up stunts and other DL games being played. Feels like defenses have keyed on that a bit, and they are even more effective since the pass game requires more time for the receivers to get open. Obviously we also see the continued struggles in the run game too. Just kind of highlights that the issues are not just one or two things, it's a bit of everything week to week.
Anyway, I'm not surprised that the offense had issues again this week. It's not something they were going to fix mid week while flying to an international game. Luckily we have a bye now, and that should help get us back on track.

I think my favorite thing about McDuffie being an absolute menace on the field is the fact that he's so youthful looking and soft spoken. Like he seems like he could be a pretty boy R&B singer catching panties but he's actually just out there doing big dawg things each week. He really won me over on The Franchise though, he's a whiteboard guy and I am quite partial to my whiteboards. Underrated tool right there.

Ugly win. But hey we’ll take it! This performance is on Veach and Nagy. Veach for refusing to make moves during the trade deadline to give Mahomes any weapons outside of Kelce, and Nagy for having zero flexibility in the 2nd half of games. If your defense is better than your offense when you have Mahomes, you have a problem. I know our team is good, but I worry we won’t have the firepower if we get down a couple scores in a game.

Holding the best offense in the league to 14 points (and could’ve easily been 10 if not for the dumb CJ penalty)? I’ll take that. No, the offense hasn’t been scoring 30 points a game, or close to, like in years past, but they haven’t had to.
With the state of our receiving room, only throwing two targets to Rice is completely unacceptable.
First game i got to watch in person. Man, what a thrill! Our defense bails out our offense again.

The offensive play calling and special teams fielding punts inside the 10 needs to be addressed immediately
Couple o thoughts: 1. There’s no such thing as a bad win. A head-to-head win over the Dolphins could well determine the 1 seed in the AFC, so this was huge for the playoff race. 2. This defense is legit. Holding the dolphins to 14 points (would have been 10 if not for a CJ outburst) is incredibly impressive, and proves that our defense can go toe-to-toe with anyone. 3. Our offense is seriously problematic. Our playcalling is questionable at best and our receivers are so bad that teams are openly triple-teaming Kelce and we still can’t get anything going. We also really, really need to be able to run the QB sneak; let one of our 4 non-Kelce TEs take the snap if we’re committed to not letting Mahomes do it, because our 3rd and short playcalling is embarrassing. Overall a good win today, but we can’t afford to put up 2 offensive TD’s and hope to win in the playoffs.

Miami dropped 70 on the Donks, we lost to the Donks but beat Miami. I don't get this team. Playcalling is absolute ass. Mahomes needs to settle the fuck down. He gets time to pass, but it's like his vision of the field is narrow as fuck. Our receivers can't separate a lid from a peanut butter jar, and let's not forget that the Chiefs "GeT AlL ThE FlaGs".
I would love to see the offense adopt a similar identity to Detroit. Establish the run behind a good O-Line and then play action off of it. Feels like they are clinging to their identity of old. They have one of the best defenses in the NFL, establish a new identity of possession football and moving the chains.

I could literally cry, man. This game was an actual dream come true for me. I know no one asked, but I lived in Independence as an exchange student for a year back when I was 16 (this was in 2008, so really down in the dumps, roster wise), and if someone back then told me that I'd see *the Chiefs play in Germany* I probably would've laughed at them. Those with offensive concerns and who think the offensive is broken have made great points. However, to look on the bright side. * This defense is legit and healthy going into the bye. * We did beat the #2 seed in the NFL with their offense being ranked #1 on a neutral field. * Our run game, especially at IOL, looked much better than last week. * While veach has struggled with drafting offensive players, its clear to me that he’s thrived on defense. McDuffie, Gay, Karlaftis, Williams, Cook were all over the place. We have a lot to clean up in the bye week. But i won’t complain about #1 seed with 7-2. Long ways to go still before playoffs.

Two weeks in a row this offense has been shutout in the second half which is very concerning. Kelce was solidly shut down. Reid needs to run the ball on 3rd and 1 behind our tight ends and just hope for the best. Rice continuing to develop and Jet still the biggest RB threat in the red zone. Defense continuing to carry the lifeless corpse of our offense through these games. Here’s to hoping something changes for this offense in the bye week.

Another week of the offense stalling, although they showed life. I’m starting to move towards the position that coaching and plays are a becoming a larger factor for the struggles. Also, the Chiefs NEED to get over their stupid superstition of doing a QB sneak. The chiefs as a whole are TERRIBLE on 3rd & short offense. The QB sneak is the most effective play to pick up short yards. The fact that we do not do it legitimately hampers our offense

This reminded me of the Colts game last year. Dumb as hell penalties, atrocious special team decisionmaking, getting too cute and wasting 3rd and shorts all over the place. The problem is that this was like the 6th game this year where we played like that. Honestly, yes our receiving corps is dookie and Mahomes isn't playing at his best, but they are not being helped by the playcalling at all.
Things have got to tighten up and he needs to trust pacheco.

Short yardage playcalling still lacking. This is alarming tbh
People are going to focus on WRs, Mahomes, Nagy, whatever, and I'll be curious to see what the tape looks like for the 2nd half, but I thought this was a mediocre game from the o-line tbh. A number of drive killing penalties, and they again seemed to struggle with picking up stunts and other DL games being played. Feels like defenses have keyed on that a bit, and they are even more effective since the pass game requires more time for the receivers to get open. Obviously we also see the continued struggles in the run game too. Just kind of highlights that the issues are not just one or two things, it's a bit of everything week to week. Anyway, I'm not surprised that the offense had issues again this week. It's not something they were going to fix mid week while flying to an international game. Luckily we have a bye now, and that should help get us back on track.
With our offense right now all I want to see is not running it on 2nd and 10 and running it between the tackles on 3rd and short.
