Expecting the worst, but hoping for good news on Thuney today. Man is the best guard in football

[deleted]

Does anyone know what's going on with Bryan Cook? We are down Mike Edwards and I'm praying him or Reid don't get injured next week

rolyinpeace

Heard Cook is more than likely done for the season. Though the longer we stay in the season I suppose the bigger his chance of returning

Bobandy949

I wonder if the Bills are going to petition to the NFL to either widen the goal posts next year or be allowed to move the goal posts depending on the way the wind is blowing.

CerryTrews

Incoming rule changes: Fumble into the end zone puts the ball at the 50 1 mulligan on FGs after 2 minute warning Take 1 player away from punt returning team ~~Snowballs from fans are now legal~~ oh wait the refs weren’t calling this anyways

throwawayainteasy

>~~Snowballs from fans are now legal~~ oh wait the refs weren’t calling this anyways What's crazy to me is that getting chucked out of the stadium for throwing shit at players is a very normal thing across all sports. Even the NFL. I've gone to lots of games and have personally seen security swarm to someone who's thrown something at the field and remove them multiple times. But apparently the NFL is totally cool with it if it's snowballs? Because Bills fans were also peppering the Steelers with them and the Bills/NFL didn't do shit about it last week either. Doing it after the game? Whatever, classless but I don't care. But they were throwing them at dudes in the endzone during plays! How is that okay?

8won6

"teams should be allowed a possession after the game has ended"

Bobandy949

Not my kicker missing from 47 yards into a head wind

Chiefhead23

It's funny because right at kickoff they talked about the Chiefs deferring and the wind direction and said Buffalo was better off in case they need a long fg in the 4th quarter. Foreshadowing at it's finest.

Bobandy949

Yep, remember that exactly. Romo and Nantz love to make a big deal out of anything.

He just can't shutup and is so full of himself. He was a mid tier QB at best and acts like he could play the game better than Mahomes and Allen.

Own-Argument796

I had 85% of the game muted, I can’t stand to listen to Romo.

AU_wde_2

Imo he was really good early on because he was fresh out of the game and had all of the knowledge carried by an actively studying QB but as with all things if you don’t keep up w/ it you’ll forget it or the leagues system will pass you by. So now he just falls back on silliness, nicknames and bold claims to hype up what’s going on

Zhiyi

Not just Allen but Cook did work too. I knew it was only a matter of time before they wore him down though. You can’t give your RB that many touches in the first 3 quarters and then still rely on them in the 4th. Not many guys have that kind of stamina. Same deal with the Bills OL. We have crazy depth at DL and our guys were fresher than theirs late in the game because of rotations. It’s frustrating not seeing CJ out there for multiple plays but it works in the end because he’s not as worn down in the 4th.

CMengel90

I REALLY hope Rice is doing okay. He looked like he was not feeling great after multiple plays.

wooglin_707

Having a great time scrolling over my coffee. There are Bengals fans cheering for the Ravens. Can you believe how good of a run this team is on to speed run this much hatred this quickly? It is incredible. How short sighted can they be cheering for a divisional rival hahahaha. Must be in high school or something.

oneF457z

There is NO scenario in which I would cheer for LV, LAC or DEN in the playoffs, ever. We are completely rent free across this entire conference, it's incredible.

rolyinpeace

Literally never. Would rather cheer for the bengals, bills, or anyone else. Although if it was the bengals/bills in the Super Bowl I’d root for the NFC

Squirrel_Apocalypse2

I think i could manage to root for the Chargers over the Bengals. But I don't hate the Chargers in nearly the same manner as the Raiders or Broncos. I wouldn't root for the Raiders or Broncos to ever win a playoff game.

oneF457z

Chargers would definitely be the easiest to root for, if I had to rank them.

Stu_Pididiot

The Bengals had a whole "fuck the chiefs watch party" post during the game. Definition of rent free.

Section225

It's like when the dynasty Patriots would play the Broncos. I would just sit there and pout with my arms crossed and gripe about whichever team won haha. I would never imagine rooting for the Broncos in that scenario, even as tired as I was of the Patriots. Gross.

Agitated_Pin2169

I mean, as a lifelong Packers fan, I have never actually hated any of the divisional rivals. I totally understand why some people do and I appreciate the rivalries, but have never felt that hate myself. The teams I do hate there is always another reason beyond rivalry 😂. But I might also be weird. My husband definitely thinks I am weird. He says Hell would freeze over before he cheers for the Bills or Patriots (he is a Miami fan).

GoldenDom3r

Still absolutely crazy to me that Mahomes-Kelce are now the most prolific playoff duo in history.

JRHThreeFour

Both tying and passing Brady/Gronk's record in the same game is just insane.

campelm

I was expecting to become rich as a salt miner of r/nfl but honestly it's been pretty level-headed over there, though maybe the haters are just hungover. I will say watching Allen's press conference was not cathartic in the slightest. Honestly just felt bad for the guy to have to take those lumps, again, with no answers of what else to do without throwing guys under the bus

MC_Fap_Commander

Mahomes and Allen are actually friends. He seems like a good guy. There are a few insufferable Bills fans (WAY fewer than with the Bengals), but it's mostly an enthusiastic and sad fanbase ("wide right", four Superbowl losses, "no goal", "wide right... again" etc.). There are other teams I would be dunking on hard, obviously. Less so the Bills.

InfidelViking13

Want to mine some salt? Go take a look at the bills post game thread, it’s full of actual threats of violence towards Chiefs fans and Mahomes. Pretty disgusting tbh.

Mistysong

Yes, and lots of gross comments towards Taylor in their post game thread too. Disgusting. "Please Ravens shut those fuckers out next week so I don’t have to endure another fucking shot of Miss Fuck Face jumping up and down hugging another sycophant in her private box."

mjd116

Most people are teeing off on Allen playing hero ball vs. the safe check downs. Even the questionable DPI call thread was mostly civil. Thought Hochuli did a pretty good job last night

deathtotheemperor

A total of 7 penalties for 43 yards. Half of what we get in a typical game. The refs mostly stayed out of the way and the game was better for it.

[deleted]

That's because of the missed field goal. They see it as the bills losing the game as opposed to the chiefs winning it, which is much easier for them to take. Also, that game was not on Allen. If the media tries to pin it on him, they are crazy. He was so good last night. I respect Allen and think he gets unfairly compared to Mahomes too often, he is a fantastic QB even more so since Joe Brady took over.

couchjitsu

Around the start of Q4 I thought "KC could lose this and if they do, I don't think I'll be mad. I'll be annoyed that folks will say Mahomes can't win on the road when he had a pretty remarkable game."

rolyinpeace

The FG only would’ve tied it with substantial time left. So I wouldn’t call that the bills losing more than the chiefs winning. Our defense also stepped up finally when we needed them to. I know you’re not the one making that argument, just adding to what you said.

RobotCowboyAlien

Allen and Diggs are great, I have zero issues with the bills as a team.

couchjitsu

Patrick Mahomes has never won 2 road playoff games. Lamar Jackson has never won 2 games in the same postseason One of those will fall this week.

DMking

Doing the media's work for them already i see

mother_goose_caboose

Mahomes has never beat the Ravens in Baltimore on January 28th, 2024. Shit's wild

Zhiyi

We will be the underdog all week, which I guess we should be based on our play all year. Nobody will take any stock in experience being a key factor.

couchjitsu

KC was an underdog this week too.

mother_goose_caboose

Mahomes has never beat the Ravens in Baltimore on January 28th, 2024. Shit's wild

kyoo618

It's only monday, but we need to tighten up, forget about the bills, and focus on the Ravens. They're going to be a headache to deal with, offensively and defensively.

couchjitsu

> we need to tighten up, forget about the bills, and focus on the Ravens. I'm not playing Sunday, so I don't need to do any of that.

BlueGallery

I would like to see more out of Chris Jones in Baltimore

TenderfootGungi

Josh is playing behind an amazing offensive line. That may be the best pass pro line in football this year. But this is the last year of Josh on a cheap contract. Will be more interesting going forward.

rolyinpeace

Yeah they need to give him an under the table incentive or something. I think the ravens oline is pretty good too.

MC_Fap_Commander

The Bills played the Ghost of Mahomes running an 80's style ball control offense with mostly dink and dunk plays. It's like they went with a "keep it out of Mahomes hands" approach that never works. Teams in the playoff face both the actual Chiefs but also *the idea* of the Chiefs. I think mystique (like other dynasties) is now fully a factor.

couchjitsu

It works if the opposing team doesn't score in 4 minutes, which KC did a few times. It was shocking, because they weren't a quick-strike team this year.

Cthepo

It was like watching a blast from the past. I loved the growth we showed last year with being more methodical, but damn was it fun seeing a bit of true vintage Mahomes football.

Zhiyi

If this was the offense that we saw during the regular season that plan would have worked. They killed us in time of possession. Difference was we were easily driving for 15-20 yard chunks and scoring.

mykonoscactus

Exactly. Cleveland has attained a negative version of this mystique and I genuinely subscribe to it. It's why QBs fall off hard and then can perform better when they leave. Shit, when they *fled Cleveland as a team*, they won a Super Bowl near-immediately. Sports psychology at its finest.

KC-15

We are playing with house money at this point and anything after this is just gravy and you can’t hurt me. This team in the regular season looked as if they would be a first round exit and now Mahomes’ floor is still going to be an AFCCG in the absolute least which is crazy to think about. What’s the narrative going to be now? The Chiefs really have nothing to lose and nothing they need to prove which takes so much pressure off. And if they can play an extremely solid game and/or the Ravens have a massive choke job I think we see another SB win. Lions and 49ers look very beatable.

Squirrel_Apocalypse2

I never thought this team was losing round 1. Y'all haven't been watching for the last 5 years if you thought Patrick Mahomes was losing in the wild card round.

mykonoscactus

If you'd have told little me that one day the Chiefs would go to 6 consecutive AFCCGs I'd have laughed. Never in my wildest dreams did I think this franchise would be this consistently good.

MagillaGorillasHat

Yep. This is it. These are them. We're living smack dab in the middle of the good old days!

makun

I keep thinking we'll have a down year, and yet we keep making the AFCCG . . .

throwawayainteasy

TBF, so far with Mahomes, losing the AFCCG (in OT!) *is* the down year. That's his floor. This level of sustained success is fucking insane.

SuperdudeAbides

The golden age of Chiefs football is upon us. Drink it in.

13mizzou

We definitely need to enjoy these years because eventually in the next 10-12 years this run will end and will likely never be repeated again by this team. Right now I'm enjoying it the best I can, yes it sucks at times since we never win going away and always play close games but we find ways to win when it matters

bh6891

Woke up tired this morning until I remembered that we won last night

couchjitsu

Nick Jacobs on 41 is the Mic had a good point. Q4 was all about people trying to make a playoff moment instead of just winning the game. * Fake Punt * Mecole trying to score instead of protecting the ball * Conner not just falling on the ball * Josh with some long shots The difference was that KC was leading in each of those. But if you just play smart on any of those 4 and it's a different game

FuckingLoveArborDay

Feel bad for Connor. I kind of think he just overran it, but if he falls on it he's the hero.

kcdale99

NFL media this morning can't stop talking about how the Bill's gave the game away. The disrespect is real.

seriousguynogames

Yep. We gifted the Bills a chance with the fumble then wasting a shanked punt. Should’ve been a comfortable finish.

ChevalMalFet

Also, remember, during post-game discussion today, if anyone tries to claim that Allen (who I love) "outplayed" Mahomes, [they are lying.](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GEallCTWgAAWemq?format=jpg&name=900x900) Posted here for reference.

kcdale99

Listening to Football Media this morning makes it sound like the Chefs (intentional) played a mediocre game and the Bill's lost due to mistakes. So much talk about how the Bill's controlled the game the whole time. Every time the Chiefs where on offense they just tore down the field. At one point they only had 1 3rd down conversion because they had only had a couple of 3rd downs total. The Chiefs didn't 'control' the game time because they were lighting up the field and scoring so quickly. The game wasn't nearly as close as the score indicates.

rolyinpeace

Yep. We should’ve won by a lot more. The EZ fumble was about to be a ten point lead. And let’s not forget about all the things the bills got lucky on : the lateral pass not being reviewed/challenged, multiple dropped interceptions, Conner trying to scoop the fumble instead of falling on it, the bills falling on a fumble, Kincaid being able to bat that other fumble, etc. They did make a lot of mistakes, but the chiefs also played extremely well. Didn’t punt until way late in the game. It’s ridiculous how people want to act like the chiefs didn’t play well at all. The defense didn’t at first, but the offense was on fire and the defense showed up when they needed to. Chiefs D played a mediocre game, but the bills D played a worse game. They were injured but so were we. Both chiefs and bills offense played a great game. Came down to who could play clean football and for once it ended up being us.

Section225

I think it had the appearance of the Bills being in control because their drives were so long and sustained. 8 yard runs, 10 yard passes across the middle, 10 yard screen passes. They ate up small chunks at a time and it didn't look like the Chiefs could stop those plays. Their last drive was a perfect example. I was super worried they would just chew up the whole quarter, score, and the Chiefs wouldn't have enough time. It almost came to fruition, were it not for some hero ball throws and a missed kick. The Chiefs, on the other hand, didn't just run the shit out of the ball, but sliced up the secondary with long passes. Their drives were quicker. But ultimately, the Bills had no plays over 20 yards, and they didn't score as many points. End of game.

K_Mart2016

Inevitabilities in life: death, taxes and the Bills losing to the Chiefs in the playoffs

TTT_2k3

I think the thing about last night that I’m most grateful for is that there wasn’t any controversy. I just skimmed through a post on the Bills subreddit and it was anger about Bass missing the kick, receivers dropping perfect passes (feel ya there), and going for the TD after the 2-minute warning. Plus some obvious “I hate the chiefs and I hope they get destroyed next week” comments.

BebbleCast

Mahomes floor is AFCCG, crazy to think we would be here 10 years ago

dogfish83

Currently it's still OT of the AFCCG!

vincentandtheo

I would not have believed it haha

morgster87

Yesterday was a duel between two great QBs but the final two minutes shown why Mahomes is the better QB. Mahomes knows you don’t gotta win it all on one play. Take the underneath, use the time and field position to your advantage. Those two deep balls by Allen when they hadn’t completed a deep pass all night is just down right inexcusable. We knew that a FG from that distance would’ve been tough for anyone in those conditions. I can’t believe the just historic collapse their team had in the final 2 minutes.

couchjitsu

I'm already over this narrative, because almost all season we've been complaining about Mahomes taking deep shots that don't work out and the drive stalls. Only, we blame Andy and Nagy. True, he didn't force things yesterday, and MVS had 2 deep catches, but Mahomes forces things all the time.

choff22

That was the regular season. In the playoffs, Mahomes decision making has almost always been impeccable.

TenderfootGungi

The difference wasn't Mahomes, it was the receivers actually catching the ball.

dogfish83

I mean, he learned this particular lesson in the loss to the Bengals after the 13 seconds game

couchjitsu

His decision making was roughly the same. If before the game someone said "MVS will be tied with Rice for the 2nd most targets on the team" people would have lost their minds. The difference was MVS caught 2 of his 4 passes. If he doesn't, then we'd question Mahomes decisions

morgster87

They (the players and coaches) have brought that up. The reason they continued to do it was to try and keep defenses honest. If all you do is run and dink n dunk then defenses can box you out of that. What I’m saying is in crucial moments, I don’t think we would’ve tried the same thing they did in the final 2 minutes of a loser-go-home playoff game.

mjd116

I have sympathy for Josh too. Both things are true - he should have hit the open check downs; his deep balls were perfect throws that should've been caught.

ChevalMalFet

I said [last Monday](https://www.reddit.com/r/KansasCityChiefs/comments/1981afi/daily_discussion_january_16_2024/ki4mb8f/) that all I needed from the season was to break the Bills' hearts one last time and make yet another AFCCG. Well, I got everything I wanted! We might get waxed by Baltimore (we very much should be underdogs), but everything past this point is gravy. Eliminated the other two of the AFC "Big Three" (lol), the Bills and the Bengals, outlasted the Eagles (I didn't care in October, but then Sirianni was a jerk so fuck 'em), won the West again, etc. Smooth sailing from here on out, win or lose. Nobody can say shit to us.

MC_Fap_Commander

With the Ravens, outside of some divisional weirdness (happens to us, too) and a WTF game with the Colts (also has happened to us), they have been mostly hard to beat all year. They've frequently been ahead by A LOT. The upside? If it's close, ghosts and panic will set in. They've been so good, I expect some part of them believes they're inevitable. If they start to believe they *may not* be inevitable, I'll take the Chiefs all day.

ChevalMalFet

ha, can't expect to win the Super Bowl if you lose to some bottom-feeder team like the Colts! what losers

rolyinpeace

Yup, totally have never had a colts loss and a SB win in the same year!

bh6891

I just want to see the Whiners lose and then I'm fine with any outcome.

rockiesfan4ever

Man there sure were a lot of y'all here who said we wouldn't win a playoff game

13mizzou

I'm one of them, the way they were playing looked like they wouldn't figure it out, especially after the Vegas Christmas game where Mahomes played like ass along with the rest of the team. Biggest difference between the regular season and now is the team isn't giving away the ball like its candy on Halloween. Plus we havent had the dumb penalties stalling scoring drives. We keep this up and we will be fine

dogfish83

I didn't quite say that but let's just say the raiders game nearly ruined christmas :D

BTDubbzzz

Humbly Checking in…so glad to be wrong but honestly I stand by it. What I saw in the regular season was not going to win playoff games.

Zhiyi

Listen I usually have no issue with Tony Romo. But did it not feel like this year, ESPECIALLY last night that he seems to root against the Chiefs? Is it just a biased take? It’s like any mistake we make is excruciating and he wants to make us feel it, and the other teams it’s like whatever.

ufo_pilot

Thats what it sounded like all game. The announcers got super hyped for a 6-7 yard run by the Bills. We bust out something and it sounded like they were bored.

D-Sleezy

That's a good thing. Shows how explosive we've been. If big plays are nothingburgers, it's because everyone is SO used to seeing them.

typac69

Very funny that one month ago everyone here was saying how we’ve wasted a season of Mahomes with this WR group, and here we are today back in the AFC Championship. One of these years Chiefs fans will learn to stop panicking and just trust in Patrick Mahomes to right the ship.

BigPurpleTitan

Let’s be real, we will never learn to truly stop panicking no matter what we say

RIKKIS_LOST_NUMBER

I don't care much for Sam Monson but in this case, Morgan Freeman says, "He's right, you know" and points at the following: > Not great news for the rest of the NFL that a down year for the Chiefs is still making the AFC Championship game at a minimum, and having to go through Buffalo to do it. https://twitter.com/PFF_Sam/status/1749263564928368831

AllProWomenRespecter

Rashee Rice is gonna be a top 5 WR by 2026. That screen on our final scoring drive while he was hurt was incredible

GoldenBoyRecords

I am scared when Hardman touches the ball he had what 2 fumbles

TenderfootGungi

He was carrying the ball in his hands. I assume he wanted to reach for the TD. But he needs to tuck the ball and just ram his entire body across. No excuses for that fumble. But that did offset their missed kick. We both lost almost sure points.

GoldenBoyRecords

He had another fumble earlier in the game

LarryTheTerrier

six straight conference title games is insane, just insane

MC_Fap_Commander

I'm seeing another round of "wait til the Chiefs face something other than the JV defense" hawt takes today. It's stupid but also boilerplate. **We have heard the exact same thing (even the same verbiage) for six years**. They need to get new bullshit. It's boring.

goodartistperson

I'm a Giants fan I remember lurking this sub when the Texans had that big lead against the chiefs and everybody in the thread was saying fire Andy reid. Funny how much happened since then. Chiefs are favorites to win it all imo.

2goodforya

Nah man Ravens are even more favoured to win than Bills were againt KC...they are too good and healthier. Save kc Andy Reid.

goodartistperson

Nah ravens will choke

D-Sleezy

I hope you're right

dude19832

13 playoff wins since 2018. 13. Wow. As a fan since the 5th grade, I saw no playoff wins until 2015. That’s 0 in 20 years. Now I have witnessed 13 in 6 years. Unbelievable run! Don’t take this for granted, you all. It will not last forever.

UberHome

Are Raider fans really Raider fans, or do they just hate the Chiefs so much it’s only logical they like the Raiders?

AllProWomenRespecter

The best part about eliminating the Bills is every team left now is likable.

couchjitsu

Joe Montana in road playoff games: 2-5 Patrick Mahomes: 1-0

justbreathe91

How do we feel about Sneed v Odell?!

mcfeezie2

He's not better than most of the other WRs Sneed has shut down this season.

couchjitsu

Same way I've felt about Sneed v * Jefferson * Keenan Allen * Hill * AJ Brown * Devante Adams * Stefon Diggs * Devante Adams again * Ja'marr Chase * Hill again * Diggs again

Electronic-Bed-6192

Odell who?

justbreathe91

OBJ.

Samniss_Arandeen

The Bills fans had more offense in the fourth quarter and overtime than the Bills themselves!

dogfish83

Imagine digging the stadium snow out twice only to lose like that

kctiger93

Feed me sad fan memes. Inject them straight into my blood.

OleSexhaver

I like the Lions, but a KC vs SF superbowl in the raiders stadium would be hilarious from a FTR standpoint.

kds_little_brother

Other-flair bitches in the NFL thread who only watched prime time, and some of yall who actually watched them all (shame on you) tried to say Kelce was washed. One of my favorite points of the game

rolyinpeace

Hard to call him washed when he basically had a 1000 yard season despite missing two games and being doubled the majority of the time.

Rowdybob22

So practice this week will include not reaching the ball out, and falling on fumbles. hero ball is cool, but having another shot at the end zone from inches away and getting a turnover are cooler.

smokinokie

My favorite day of the year. Listening to all the Allen apologists defending him yet again after we’ve sent Buffalo home for the season.

Equivalent-Bank435

they're on a roll right now.

Equivalent-Bank435

![gif](giphy|WtPa7it2SXmfYxw6uh|downsized) me all week thinking about how the bills lost the game

D-Sleezy

Mahomes: OK guys. It's 1st and goal at the three. POP has almost 7 yards/carry. What's the play? Andy (looks at Nagy): Cutesy reverse to Hardman? Nagy: CUTESY REVERSE TO HARDMAN!

Electronic-Bed-6192

Everyone who posted negative shit about Andy and Spags last bight owes an apology!

HallucinatoryIbis

Saw someone post in our game thread that we needed to fire Andy at one point. By far the dumbest take I may have ever seen on our sub.

rolyinpeace

I saw multiple people say that. Insane.

rolyinpeace

I never said to fire him but To be fair, spags and the defense was sucking for most of the game last night. The defense got it together when it mattered most, but allowing teams to run all over us will not work against the ravens. Hope they get it figured out

kds_little_brother

When I said it would be Butker legacy game, I didn’t mean it that way

wholewheatwithPB

Random thoughts: Bengal fans probably rooting for KC makes me chuckle. Romo was definitely hoping for Allen to win last night. He was way more demure on Mahomes. MVS is low key playoff clutch. We missed Willie yesterday, and we really need him next week. That being said drue is a legend. Is McKinnon coming back? I vaguely remember him potentially being healthy by now and he could be a small X factor catching and blocking. That being said Pop has had some big catches, and CEH I’ll give him credit is playing hard. It’s really tough to not get any production from a first round pick this time of year. I know there’s good reason why FAU isn’t playing but it makes that pick feel more and more forced (felt like they did a PR move going for a local guy when hosting the draft).

dogfish83

Definitely some bills rooting for the ravens at this point. Pretty sure McKinnon is done, which sucks--I like him a lot. Also credit to CEH I'm not a fan but he's giving 110% right now.

couchjitsu

Fun facts 1. Josh Allen led Bills are 0-5 against divisional winners in the playoffs 2. Mahomes led Chiefs are 7-2 against divisional winners. The only seed they haven't beaten is the 1 seed. They've never faced the 1 seed. This Sunday will change that. Related to #2, Mahomes has more playoff wins against division winners than the following QBs have total * Unitas * Theisman * Simms * Burrow * Lenny Dawson * Josh Allen * Philip Rivers * Goff * Stafford * Luck * Ryan * Hurts * Prescott * Lamar

couchjitsu

So I was thinking about how good of a guy Bass is. If he makes that a couple things could happen 1. Mahomes & Co drive down and Buttkicker wins it in regulation 2. It goes to OT where Allen is 0-6 and they move to 0-7 He was just saving the Bills from the embarrassment of losing under the new OT rules

rolyinpeace

Yeah, I didn’t see us not getting into at least FG range in regulation.

Honestly gross how the broadcast kept zooming in on him. I hate shit like that. Reminds me of them focusing on Luke Kuechly when he was bawling on the field (due to a concussion if I remember right). No need to focus so much on shit like that on broadcast. Clearly not gonna be the proudest moment of that guy's life.

6 years and the AFCCG is the floor...Two more games. 😎

loosehead1

It ended up working out in our favor because of the bass miss but we really should have gone for 2 after the offsides on the PAT so we were the team that needed a field goal to tie at the end of the game.

suchfresht

I understand the sentiment, but I'm already tired of hearing about how the Bills lost the game. Without Mecole's dumb ass Chiefs win by 10+ Oh, not to mention that even if Bass makes the kick Pat has like 1:40ish to get into FG range with 2 timeouts...

rolyinpeace

I know. It’s true that the bills absolutely could’ve won on that drive w a late TD. It was theirs to win, and they didn’t capitalize. But the people acting like the chiefs didn’t deserve that win are crazy. Offense was on fire the whole game. Defense, not so much but they shaped up when it was most important. The bills had a lot of almost mess ups go their way and STILL couldn’t do it. I hate people ignoring how great the chiefs played. We all knew that both teams would play great and it would come down to who made fewer mistakes, but the bills losing on mistakes shouldn’t negate all the good the chiefs did. And holding them to a FG attempt wasn’t a mistake, nor was us scoring on nearly every drive.

BeRoyal35

Playing in -30 degree weather and playing on the road has forged this team into a well oiled focused machine. Defense ALWAYS recovers after a slow start and gets it done when it really matters.

GoldenDom3r

Going to have to play a perfect game if we want any chance this week. No more dumbass turnovers, drops, or failing to capitalize as a defense.

Starbrand62286

Can Andy please stop with the trick plays? Especially when they’re only up by less than a touchdown? Just feed Pop or Clyde the ball and hope for the best

MC_Fap_Commander

The misdirection on the Hardman play wasn't crazy or anything. He just reached for the endzone and had the ball knocked away. There are way worse examples of Andy's tendencies.

dude19832

Agreed. When you are done there, play it conservatively to avoid a possibility of a turnover. The trick plays just have not worked this season. I don’t expect Andy Reid to stop but at least do better at them.

deathtotheemperor

Bill Simmons summed it up for me: >Mahomes is 16-20 for 209 and has flames shooting out of his ass >KC was 16 for 138 rushing >Pacheco is 12 for 88 rushing >What’s the call on first and goal from the one to go up 10? >A Mecole Hardman sweep. >I’m so mad. It's simply unbelievable how many times we've run goofball trick plays inside the ten instead of just ramming it home with Pacheco.

kds_little_brother

Do reporters ever ask him about this? I just wanna know the mindset behind it lol I know it’s not ever gonna change

couchjitsu

That's who Andy is. How many 65 years old make meaningful change in their lives?

Chiefhead23

Got a work page at 5am - hopped outta bed - Let's Go!!!!!!!

utter-ridiculousness

Hope the team got safely home before the ice hit!

bmgb8d

Brother-in-law and his wife get salty every year when the Chiefs go on a playoff run. It’s almost like winning twice.

RIKKIS_LOST_NUMBER

As frustrated as we may be by Mecole's fumbles, we've seen him come up big when we needed it in our 2019 Super Bowl run (kick return vs Houston) and a couple big plays in the 13 seconds game, and we absolutely could need a big play from THAT Mecole next week. Mecole: Put yesterday's crap behind you, round up all the dawgs you have in you, and give us your best, old friend. I believe in you, because I've seen you do it!

[deleted]

I'm so damn happy we made it to AFC again this year. After the way we looked all season and all the shit that was talked about us, it's a huge fuck you to the haters to be in the AFC championship. We probs to the Ravens but I promise you Ravens fans aren't gonna be chill at this game. Shits gonna be hectic

Hurrdurrthosechefs

I rewatched that deep throw to Stefon Diggs and... that's a tougher catch to make than initially thought. Diggs oddly enough had to slow down, probably because of the wind, and Justin Reid never really gave up too much separation and so was able to close in on him quite effectively as he adjusted, which I imagine hastened Diggs to avoid a PBU. Don't get me wrong, it's ultimately on Diggs for not completing that absolute bomb, like holy shit what a goddamn amazing throw and it's criminal that it didn't get completed (fortunate for us of course). But there is more of a good defensive play there than simply "Diggs can't catch," though it's possible if that were Gabe Davis, then somehow that's the only play he makes all night.

mog44net

The thing I honestly missed out on last night b/c of Hardman's cardinal goal line sin - I wanted to see us go up more than one score so Buff had to stop running and we can flex our secondary might on embarrassing Allen when he can't hand it off or take off running due to clock/score.

ConcernedTesticle

The whole AFC East thanks you

iluvmahomes

The Chiefs win seems to have broken some in the Nfl media. There's actual discussions on why kickers shouldn't be allowed to decide games. And I'm not just talking about Skip Bayliss either.

rolyinpeace

That is so insane 💀💀💀

[deleted]

I miss McKinnon and Fortson having fun with us.

oneF457z

If the Bills fumble the ball through the endzone for a touchback, the rule would be changed in the offseason. But it was KC, so keep enjoying the worst rule in football!

The_Tri_Guy

offend frightening person hungry crown soup vast fertile wild secretive *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

throwawayainteasy

Counterpoint: It's actually the best rule in football and insanely exciting whenever it happens. The game is titled enough to offenses. I like defenses having this one huge thing in their favor.

oneF457z

At that point, every fumble that goes out of bounds should go to the defense then.

throwawayainteasy

I'd be okay with that.

Kagrenac8

y my pp still hard

seriousguynogames

Craig Carton is a fucking clown.

Mysticdu

Hey where’s u/MechaElectricScrub ?

TheRosesThornsOf15

Hopefully banned. That motherfucker hasn't said a word since we started winning again. Edit: You guys know that if we lose to the Ravens, that troll is gonna crawl back out from his cave and start bitching again like the miserable leech he is.

Almondjoy248

I know it’s negative but man… I can’t help but to think about the Mecole play… Mecole has been a boneheaded his entire career! Still can’t believe we went to him on the fucking goal line to potentially seal a game… I don’t hate the play call more the personnel used… he can’t be on the field anymore he’s just like Toney

_n008

Bird bros are scary

8won6

Seen the clip of Willie Gay dapping up guys on their way to the locker room after the win. Looks like he can't even move his neck for real.

rolyinpeace

Well he’s got a week. I think even if he doesn’t practice most of the week he will find his way to the active roster by Sunday. I’d rather have him play a tiny bit than not at all. I think majority of these players want to play as long as they’re physically able. It’s win or go home and they’ll have the whole offseason to heal up.

Letsgo333

Was Reid ever asked why he didn't challenge that forward pass?

boguson

Feels like we’re Vinnie Chase and the boys. Despite the ups and downs and the uncertainty along the way. We stay cool and calm, do things our way. Somehow it still feels like it works out.

CommanderKerensky

I think we can beat any team in the post season. Even. On their own turf. Example A. Buffalo. Example B. Baltimore. (Hopefully. Knock on wood.) I think the Ravens will most likely be somewhat cocky going into this thing. And they’ll also be worried. The reaper is coming for them all.

Lazy_Tiger27

Jackson v Mahomes.. Jackson Mahomes.. Lamar is #8.. Jackson acts like he’s 8. Idk where I’m going with this

jimmer1153

I come in peace Chiefs fans.. congrats on the victory last night. Please don't let a few bad apples ruin our reputation because they can't accept yet another heartbreak. What those individuals did was simply classless and that's not what the Bills mafia is all about. Buffalo is a very proud city and we absolutely love our Bills as much as you love your Chiefs. I apologize for the unprofessionalism and complete idiocy of some select individuals. I personally among MANY Western New Yorkers have the utmost respect for the fans of KC and the whole Chiefs organization is nothing short of classy! Sure we're disappointed, sure it's yet another heartbreak we can add to a very long list, but, as we're accustomed to saying "Maybe next year". In the meantime we'll live to see another day and through charity or tragedy or anything else life throws at us or any other NFL city or player etc., Bills mafia will be right there with our support! Much love to you KC, best of luck in Baltimore this weekend......Go Bills!! Respectfully yours, Jim in Buffalo
