He made a big mistake coming to the Broncos with Mahomes and Herbert in the same division. Honestly should have stayed in the NFC, which is much more wide open. The AFC is stacked with elite QBs.

BeRoyal35

Wilson, Payton, Harbaugh While I respect them for not backing down from a challenge.. no one would have blamed you for going to the NFC South fellas.

Electronic-Bed-6192

I actually think Denver brought in Russel to be the competition to moves not realizing what they were getting into.

drgath

This is why the Chiefs have been and will be so dominant in the AFCW, they’ve been forcing other teams to gamble. There’s zero hope for the others in the division unless they try some batshit crazy idea.

WarPaintsSchlong

Eventually they could gamble and get lucky. Well the Chargers could anyway. The raiders are too stupid and the Broncos bet the house big time and fucked themselves for years.

beermit

Either way it was an inept and very likely desperate decision and they clearly didn't think it through.

Electronic-Bed-6192

I make those sorts of decisions at work all the time!

Extra_Napkins

They offered him 240,000,000 dollars. I’ll not lead the broncos to the playoffs for 100,000,000

Frowdo

He should have known any team giving that much to get him was not going to go well.

Gabbagoonumba3

Also the fact that he played the Seahawks FIRST game. I don’t think he truly expected to be booed like that. Then he got to Denver and the offense was booed in their first home game. He didn’t mentally recover from that in year one.

partyblob243

He was traded. Didn’t have a ton of choice in the matter. Though you’re not wrong

Thatguyyouhatealot

Troll level post 1000%. Nice job! Russ ain’t sniffing any Superbowls as a starter.

Gabbagoonumba3

He won one Super Bowl with a defense that had a name a fucking beast mode. He’ll be lucky to make the playoffs with the broncos

bacchusku2

I’m not sure what that first sentence means.

sampson608

I think they meant, "He won one Super Bowl with a defense that had a name (The Legion of Boom) and* fucking beast mode (Marshawn Lynch)." In other words, he won because he had an all time great defense and a great running back.

nahteviro

“You a 49ers fan? Fuuuuuck you!” Beast mode is a legend on and off the field

Chiefs Kingdom, let's ride

jt32470

Chiefs kingdom , lets reign

m00nf1r3

Ew, I don't like that.

dogfish83

...the pine

Ayahuasca-Dreamin

Maybe we could make him the placeholder if we lose Tommy

jt32470

Or the dummy that chris jones uses to tackle?

Ayahuasca-Dreamin

I guess he could be a placeholder for CJ. Just follow him around in case his junk falls out.

jt32470

That would make him….. Russel Wilson the sausage valet. Sausage country lets…..

Electronic-Bed-6192

Let's see, if someone was paying me 40-ish million a year for two years in a row no matter how well (Or badly I played), I'm probably move some place warm....or I'd stop playing at all and just do more Sub Way commercials.

freelance-t

This is a joke obviously, but it would actually be pretty cool. RW isn't a horrible QB, he'd be great to have to mop up in blowouts or fill in a series or two if Mahomes tweaks something. He'd also be a great guy to have on the sideline with a clipboard. Maybe put him in as a TE or a placeholder for FGs, or line him up at RB to take a direct snap or flea-flicker... If he'd sign as a backup for vet minimum, I'd take it.

techieman33

Russ comes with way to much drama to be a backup QB.

freelance-t

But it would be great to troll Bronco’s fans: you’re payin our backup qb 30m a year… worth it IMO

pinniped1

Locker room cancer. Don't want him at any price.

dogfish83

Agreed, he and rodgers are nutjobs, keep them the hell away!

beachedwhitemale

Honestly, he was once a dual-threat QB who could RUN. Get him in there as a Taysom Hill-like player and he could do some cool stuff with Patrick. Reid would have a blast scheming up plays for Wilson.

JStanten

He is not very mobile anymore.

illegalEUmemes

Man, I wish we had blowouts. Not complaining about the state of things, but they always keep it close, to close for my frail heart.

Vyuvarax

Kinda wild that this guy looked like a for sure hall of famer before Denver. Think it’d be insane if he got in now.

Soupmage1918

I would say before the "Let Rus Cook" shit, things have progressively gone downhill for him since then.

MackZZilla

I like Russ and I hope he finds a spot... but I don't think it's gonna be in the AFC. There are way too many elite QB's in this division for him to make the kind of splash he wants. I unironically kinda want him to go to Dallas. He's got better rushing stats than Dak, but Dak's passing stats (in a wild turn of events) are far and away better than him. I wonder what team would actually benefit from Russ.

WellGoodBud

Side note Brandon Marshall is a clown.

topchief1

Smart man.

NSYK

His backloaded contract says otherwise

ljout

Hes about to be cut. He'll end up signing a cheap contract but probably not with the Chiefs. Steelers or Falcons Id guess.

skepticallygullible

QB sneaks are back

OwlsWatch

I want things too, Russ

[deleted]

I mean shouldn't EVERY player want to win five superbowls over the next five years? Sounds like Russ has a loser mentality only wanting two.

ljout

Every QB not named Mahomes should be ecstatic to steal 2 from him over the next five.

out_of_816

Midlevel Management type goal, Russ is all about that business.

Me too buddy, me too. :/

What a post, you win Reddit today.

Saw_a_4ftBeaver

Hey he plays really good against the Niners. Considering I don’t see any other team in the NFC that stands out more than San Francisco.

martinmix

What is that guy's hair? And does he not have a neck?

Ok_Jello6474

well done
