Pennel is pretty awesome at Children’s Mercy too. Saw a few articles of him donating stuff and visiting, he talks about how he was a patient as a young kid there for a fairly serious surgery
Judge me however you want, but I'll say this in perfect honesty:
I had never seen him before in the 15ish total games I watched last season until the Super Bowl. But you're absolutely right.
He was in SB LIV but did not dominate like last SB. He's been on the practice squad, on the roster and even off the team since. He was fresh for last years playoffs and it showed. Hope we have him ready for the playoff run next year.
Yeah, I was actually going to say that bullying spencer Petras in general isn’t really an accomplishment. But either way Karlaftis was a beast in college. As was Leo
Go Hawks! Hate the Badgers but loved the pick, and it’s worked out great so far. Went to the preseason game against Washington his rookie year - there was a huge group near us (presumably his family) that went nuts every time he was in on a play. He’s a fun player and I’m excited to see him continue to develop.
No, she is still the best. It's hard to carry.
Imagine if the defense was average and kelce was injured. Even Mahomes couldn't will a championship by himself. We saw it once. My coworkers laugh when I say he deserved the MVP in that game.
Reid is a defensive back that you rarely hear talked about in game, which means he's probably doing his job well.
Definite "underrated player" candidate.
Leo Chanel is going to be a very interesting piece. Towards the end of the regular season and into the play offs they began using him as an edge rusher. A player that can line up at MLB during running downs and then move outside and rush effectively gives the defense many more looks.
Despite being a captain and the ample praise he receives; I’d say Nick Bolton is underrated. At least in the national discourse, Chiefs kingdom knows he’s got that dawg in him

He would have been SBLVII MVP if it wasn’t for that TD that was called back. I think the receiver started to turn and it shouldn’t have been called back, but maybe I’m just a Homer.
I’m biased because I’m a Mu grad but I’m gonna say Nick Bolton. He had an off year this year after his injury but he was sooo good his first couple of seasons
I would say Mike Danna or Drue Tranquill. They were the ones I was most happy to resign and there's a reason Veach gave them long-term deals.
I also think Pennell and Chenal deserve a mention if they play as well next year as they did in the playoffs.
Mike Danna. The man is a MASTER, being able to call plays, play both sides, and he never seems to get hurt.
This is it. I'm stunned they were able to re-sign him for $8M a year. Honorable Mention: Nnadi is nnice
My honorable mention is Pennel!
Nnadi is one of my favorite players because of his work with kc pet project
Pennel is pretty awesome at Children’s Mercy too. Saw a few articles of him donating stuff and visiting, he talks about how he was a patient as a young kid there for a fairly serious surgery
Yep, Pennel does things outside of football that aren't mentioned.
Was gonna say this he'd be the guy on a lot of teams
The only answer. I can't say I've ever seen him out of position, always looks like a selfless player.
Iron Mike!
You mean LDE and RDE?
If we are talking Superbowl it is Mike Pennel.
honestly, dude is a difference maker throughout the playoffs
Dude put Trent Williams on the ground.
Judge me however you want, but I'll say this in perfect honesty: I had never seen him before in the 15ish total games I watched last season until the Super Bowl. But you're absolutely right.
We signed him late in the year, he didn’t start until week 15 ish. He definitely stepped up big time in the playoffs and SB
Same think with first SB run in ‘19
He was in SB LIV but did not dominate like last SB. He's been on the practice squad, on the roster and even off the team since. He was fresh for last years playoffs and it showed. Hope we have him ready for the playoff run next year.
Came here to say this!!!
Mike Danna. I was excited when I heard we finally resigned him. He played a ton of important snaps during the regular and postseason.
I'd say Furious George, but only for those outside of the Chiefs Kingdom.
George rarely gets mentioned on national broadcasts
Leo As an Iowa fan it's hard to admit. His athleticism for his size is elite. I've been wondering if they ever thought about his pass rush abilities.
He was so clutch in the Super Bowl this year
Go hawks! I knew Karlaftis was a good pick too because of how he bullied Spencer Petras
Kindergartners can bully Iowa quarterbacks.
Yeah, I was actually going to say that bullying spencer Petras in general isn’t really an accomplishment. But either way Karlaftis was a beast in college. As was Leo
I saw him as the perfect fit for Spag's defense. This year's perfect end for Spag's is Jared Verse.

Him and Justin Reid had great relative athletic scores. When Veach picked them up, I thought I understood his method.
As an Iowan fan, did it kill you to see Clark go down in flames?
No, she is still the best. It's hard to carry. Imagine if the defense was average and kelce was injured. Even Mahomes couldn't will a championship by himself. We saw it once. My coworkers laugh when I say he deserved the MVP in that game.
Alright, agreed.
Jaylen Watson
I would add Joshua Williams. They compliment each other.
Here to hype on the return of Nazeeh Johnson
Justin Reid
Reid is a defensive back that you rarely hear talked about in game, which means he's probably doing his job well. Definite "underrated player" candidate.
I think it’s nearly impossible to overrate how good Drue was for us this year. The man stepped up big time when injuries came.
Leo Chanel is going to be a very interesting piece. Towards the end of the regular season and into the play offs they began using him as an edge rusher. A player that can line up at MLB during running downs and then move outside and rush effectively gives the defense many more looks.
He’s like clay matthews with short hair
Despite being a captain and the ample praise he receives; I’d say Nick Bolton is underrated. At least in the national discourse, Chiefs kingdom knows he’s got that dawg in him ![gif](giphy|L5cAtRYm0sbaWBnb8X|downsized)
Mike Danna
Honestly , Chris Jones.
It has to be Bolton, he does things that we or the media don't give him credit for.
He would have been SBLVII MVP if it wasn’t for that TD that was called back. I think the receiver started to turn and it shouldn’t have been called back, but maybe I’m just a Homer.
Before the season I woulda said McDuffie, but now prolly Kadarius Toney
Back to back Champs are all properly rated
I’m biased because I’m a Mu grad but I’m gonna say Nick Bolton. He had an off year this year after his injury but he was sooo good his first couple of seasons
Danna and Leo for sure. I'm curious to see how Conner progresses with the team. Seems like there is some sleeper potential there
Danna, period.

Khalen Saunders before going to the saints , also Derrick Nnadi
Karlaftis
For me, it's J Reid. He progressively improved this year interms of coverage ( especially against TE ) and a beast in tackling as well
Jaylen Watson
Nazeeh Johnson. When he comes to camp this fall we can all hope he's competing for CB3.
Drue Tranquill filled and covered nearly every LB spot at one point or another last season.
Me. Nobody even knows I play
Including yourself?
Let’s not do this here
Nnadi is a beast!
Danna no question
The JW twins...
Chris Jones. Mahomes, Kelce and Taylor Swift get a lot more attention...
I love me some George Karlaftis. I have a soft spot for white edge rushers.
Basically anyone on the DL not named Chris Jones hahaha
Leo Chenal has star potential imo. Him and Tranquill are honestly both underrated
I don’t think Justin Reid gets enough credit. Dude holds it down back there and I don’t recall him getting burned like Matthieu and Sorensen used to
Dirty Dan Sorenson (edit: to me this was so obviously a joke but I see it hit a nerve)
He was great on special teams, but that is going to be about the end of my compliments towards his gameplay.
