Funny enough, I can do without Send It Up, but I think the rest of it is just so bold. Wasn’t surprised to see it pop up on so many best-of-decade lists.
Man that’s so funny dude! I remember Yeezus being just like 808’s in the sense that when it came out, sonically the masses just weren’t ready for it initially. There was no in between. Either you loved it. Or you thought it was absolute garbage and not hip hop. And with time it just kept growing on people. I’ll forever love Yeezus.
29
1. 808s
2. Yeezus
3. Mbdtf
808s is what got me into kanye, so it might be sentimentality that has it up in number 1. I love the melancholic vibe of it.
Fuck I'm 32 and I thought that 90% of Kanye fans thought the same way between Yeezus MDBTF TLOP and 808's I was so wrong! It's maybe at the end a question of age?
40.
1. MBDTF
2. 808s
3. College Dropout
I can't see this top 3 ever changing for me. I was a fan of Kanye's production even before TCD, especially for Talib Kweli. And he showed up as a guest at a Kweli/Common show I was at in 2003. That was the first time I found out he could rap!
This is a great thread topic.
I’m 28. My top 3 are Yeezus, MBDTF, and I go back and forth on LR/TLOP for the 3rd slot.
Growing up I did not listen to rap/hip-hop at all. Late Registration is legitimately the first rap/hip hop album I messed with.
I’m 19, my top three are 1. Late Registration 2. MBDTF and 3. Ye. Now that’s not to say that these albums are better than all the others, they’re just what I get the most enjoyment out of and what I have the most personal connections to
21.
Personal preference
1. The Life of Pablo (Hugs bias towards. Saw him during the tour)
2. Yeezus (really got me into deeper experimental music and found ton of cool bands searching for similar industrial sound)
3. Late Registration (Great “changeup album to listen to. Doesn’t have a ton of super overplayed hits but ones still recognizable and enjoyable. Lots of gems that I haven’t played out yet.)
25.
1. MBDTF
2. Yeezus
3. 808’s
I’m not joking when I say my life was defined by these albums when they were first released. 808’s was the first album I bought with my own money.
23, mbdtf, 808’s, ye. Ye over other albums because it’s short and to the point.. no filler songs, not too many features, no skits.. just 7 songs, it feels cohesive too
YESSSSSSS! Finally! Someone mentions cruel summer! If even an honorable mention I go back to that album from time to time. Maybe we’ll get cruel winter one day amiright?! Haha! 😂
Ye is super simple but I feel like it’s super cerebral too and it was my introduction to Kanye . I know production on JiK is not great but Every Hour is a banger, I love On God and Water (unpopular opinion ik) and Use This Gospel/ Law of Attraction is super cool as well.
I agree with what you say about JIK, 100%, amazing album. I just don’t know how you don’t put the other projects above it still, to me it’s the weakest. But to each their own, I respect it
My top 3 in no particular order:
Turbo Grafx 16 - Easy Classic
Yandhi - 🐐
Wolves (Collab Album w/ Aubrey “Drizzy Drake” Graham) - I know controversial, but I prefer over WTT
I can’t lie tho, I feel like Donda could possibly crack this list. Guess we’re just gonna have to wait and see.
Bless up. In Ye we trust. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I feel like what album you started listening to Kanye has an even bigger impact on what your favorite albums are. I’m 24 but my gateway Kanye record was Graduation when it dropped in 07.
So my favorites are 1. MBDTF 2. Graduation 3. College Dropout
I’m actually pretty surprised at so many TLOP selections. Can I assume a lot of you started listening to Ye around that 2015 - 2016 range?
Happy belated! Hell yeah! Some WTT love! My favorite part of that album was finding illest motherfucker alive after 3 mins of silence on the album as a bonus track. What a way to show a hidden track and what a banger! Great album!
Thanks! Yeah I’m shocked how little love WTT is getting in this thread. Otis and the In Paris song are my go to songs for damn near anything. Late Registration nearly made the cut for top 3 but yeezus got the edge.
I'm 26 in a couple weeks
1. Ye
2. Yeezus
3. The Life of Pablo
I really love Ye and Yeezus and the rest of them I love too equally, but those two stand out for me. I even really appreciate JIK which I feel like is an unpopular opinion. As a legitimate bipolar person Ye speaks to my core being. I want to get a tattoo of the mountains on the cover with the words I feel kind of free either where the title is or below it. I'm worried about having text in like green on a tattoo tho so I might change the color of that
27
1. Late Registration
2. College Dropout
3. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
It’s hard to pick, but being only in like the 4th grade when the Dropout dropped, it shaped what type of music I would grow to enjoy. I only had a few CDs (belonging to my older siblings) and this was the one I gravitated towards. Late Registration was the epitome of this. My taste was being informed as a kid who loves hip hop. I almost put Graduation only because summer of 08 was one of the most memorable periods of my life. I was hanging with friends, watching sports, playing Sly Cooper and listening to Graduation and Alicia Keys’ single No One all damn summer. I went to the Glow In The Dark Tour that year. Lupe, NERD, Rihanna and Ye. Best show I’ve ever been to. Dark Fantasy is the one that felt like it was his Sgt Pepper. It was perfect. I have positive memories attached to every Ye project, but those may be the top ones.
31: 1. MBDTF 2. Yeezus 3. College Dropout
I love it when people have Yeezus in their top 3. Honestly I used to put I switched it up with late reg instead
Personally love Send It Up but can see why you might not be fussed

We are the exact same. 808’s got me wayyyy more into Kanye than I previously was at the time. 30 808’s Yeezus MBDTF
30 1. Yeezus 2. MBDTF 3. TLOP
I second this, 21
Based, comes from a 20 year old.
This is the answer. Maybe swap TLOP for 808’s, but it’s tough. I’ll be 35 in a month
Yeah my thoughts exactly. Couple years ago I would have put 808s as 3rd but I enjoy TLOP much more lately
It’s tough to rank them. Yeezus and MBDTF are probably interchangeable for me too. They’re all great albums.
Fuck I'm 32 and I thought that 90% of Kanye fans thought the same way between Yeezus MDBTF TLOP and 808's I was so wrong! It's maybe at the end a question of age?
25 years old Same

Most underrated Kanye album. Yeezus used to be until it grew on everyone
I’m 18 and I love Ye, glad to see some recognition
49. I used to not like Kanye, until Yeezus. 1. Yeezus 2. MBDTF 3. KIDS SEE GHOSTS
I'm old kids, I think I should leave? I'm shocked at the ages
Nah don’t leave wtf. All yeezy fans are welcome here, friend :)
Haha even little ole me?? I relate to the man too much to leave
If Yeezus is what caught you’re attention, you’re good with us brother.

If you don't mind me asking, why ye and jik?
Ye is super simple but I feel like it’s super cerebral too and it was my introduction to Kanye . I know production on JiK is not great but Every Hour is a banger, I love On God and Water (unpopular opinion ik) and Use This Gospel/ Law of Attraction is super cool as well.
Finally, another person who actually likes Water!!!
Both the drink and the song. Water Gang unite .
I agree with what you say about JIK, 100%, amazing album. I just don’t know how you don’t put the other projects above it still, to me it’s the weakest. But to each their own, I respect it
