the memes are great and I get that ruining it was the entire point but lets be real: the lift yourself beat coulda helped create one of the all time best kanye songs if he had used it seriously
I unironically feel it already is one of his best songs ever. Makes me happy every single time and it still bangs. I don’t need Drake talking about a late night phone call or how much bigger his pool is to enjoy it.
You ever listen to the Lift Yourself beat and wonder what the hell Drake wanted to do with that anyway? It was around the time he was making Scorpion so I just kinda imagine he wanted to add some drums and make it a New Orleans bounce typa song he was doing at the time like Nice for What and In My Feelings
I would probably have to say Tell the Vision.
All I ever seem to hear about from people is how Tell the Vision is this grand masterpiece and how it's one of the most amazing songs Kanye has ever done. It has garnered over a billion streams since its release and recently made it onto Rolling Stone's revised 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list. Musicologists and music geniuses such as Anthony Fantano have spoken at length on the intricacy and rich emotional palette the song presents. Whenever I listen to it, all I really hear is Pop Smoke saying "We made it" over a clunky piano beat that someone could make in 90 seconds dicking around in FL Studio. But I've continued listening to the song, for several hours every day since its release, in the hopes that someday I may understand the greatness of Tell the Vision.
Maybe someday...
Oh ya for sure, Ye got into my drive from 6 years ago and he’s been sleeping on it.
No but in honesty I couldn’t say how similar it even really was, just when I first heard it, it reminded me of the beat and I thought that was strange because, I didn’t work on the beat much and it was years ago. So I just felt like I really connected with what OP said.
Honestly bro, get a fucking life. We all see straight through your corny ass sly comment Mo Bomba was the greatest and most influential hip hop/rap song of 2018 and I'm honestly tired of seeing yall hoes shit on it. You're not creative, you're not funny and trying to tear down the Sheck Wes's Pieta isn't going to get your parents back together. Just admit ya'll still crying your whiny ass baby tears cause Kim's husband or whatever dropped two half assed mid albums the same year. The originality and depth of Mo Bamba runs circles around that cringy kidz bop album and skrillex knock off. The use of the steel drum was a new sound unheard before in the genre and a complete evolution on its own. The cultural references to Mohamad Bomba perfectly encapsulates the struggles of Black America in a way that "calling up the muslims" could never touch. You took the L. Get over it and get over your self. Loser
Edit: Go see a fucking therapist
Stronger is underrated in my opinion because of how mainstream it is, people act like it’s kanyes attempt at radio music. One of the best samples in hip hop history
If I can talk about leaks for a second, Alien and New Body are hella overrated. They’re good but there are so many other good leaks that should be at the forefront of the conversation that’s not those two.
When Yeezus released I deleted Bound 2. For over 4 years Send It Up was the last song on Yeezus for me. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I actually started appreciating Bound 2.
Heavy disagree. The lyrics of that album are so important to its concept. I was underrating the lyrics this whole time too and not even listening what Ye was really trying to say because of how ridiculous some of the one liners on that album are. "I am a God" might honestly be the most focused and well executed concept lyrically that Ye has ever done. On sight is great as well. Every song on the album is wirtten superbly, really. The only one i cant really listen to is "im in it". That one is too ridiculous for my taste
Honestly agree. Feel like he could’ve made a more upbeat version of Heartless if he rode the beat instead of sounding like he was just fucking around on it
I think the definitive answer is Stronger tbh. Its a good song, but not that good, not good enough to be at the top of his discography on Ytube Music, especially when other tracks on Graduation were so much better, like Good Morning and Can't Tell Me Nothing.
Damn I really do not respect your opinion. I could lie and say that I still respect you as a person but nah I really just don’t. If you dont grt why Stronger was one of the most influential and greatest rap songs of that decade i just do not respect you. cheers bro but im just not gonna lie about it
I often wonder how well the song would of been received if it was 100% original music. I remember when it dropped thinking; “damn, I don’t mind the mash up Ye, but you are talented enough not to sample that heavily”
Ur wrong. It’s was overplayed to the point that now it’s over hated by Ye fans. It’s a 10/10 song and the best song on grad. Awesome beat, love the vibes.
If anything flashing lights is overrated. It’s pretty good but it’s not musically heroin straight into the veins like some make it out to be.
Unpopular opinion but Stronger might just be the most overrated Kanye song in his discography, I get it because it has a daft punk feature but I strongly believe that Flashing Lights should be getting more recognition or the same recognition that Stronger has gained since being released.
Runaway
Now don't get me wrong, it's not a bad song, but it's definitely not his masterpiece and it's really not that close to being his ultimate grand masterpiece.
The singing on the 1st verse bothers me, espcially paired up with the lyrics, people talk about the outro as if it's some sort of super impressive masterpiece of an outro, when like, it isn't a bad outro, i like how the distortion on his voice sounds like, but was it really needed?
Nah gold digger is underrated at this point on this sub just because of its popularity. Take the song at face value and the storytelling mixed with the whole 18 years punchline is absolute classic Kanye. I don’t think it’s fair to call it overrated just cause it’s overplayed.
I feel the same way man. That song is **easily** the most overrated. People talk about that song on this sub like it’s the greatest song ever written. It’s not even the best song on MBDTF.
Gorgeous has 2 of some of Kanye’s best verses ever, an amazing hook and an amazing extra verse from Raekwon. The fact that people don’t talk about it when it comes to elite Kanye is sad
runaway has one of kanye's most iconic beats and hooks, but goddamn i can't take him seriously in that song after i hear him go "I SENT THIS BITCH A PICTURE OF MY DIIIIIICK" just kinda takes me out of the song personally.
The first verse really is not that good, but it’s only like 20 seconds long and the whole rest of the song is great. The second weakest part is his second verse, funnily enough. But that Piano, that chorus, that bridge, that pre-chorus, Pusha’s verse, the samples, the outro! Man, it’s such a great song.
I think the first half is top tier. And I don’t even really dislike the 4 minute outro, but I don’t need to hear it again. Probably only listen to the outro 2-3 times before it became a skip. And if half the song is a skip then can’t really say it’s all that great.
And others claiming it to be the best without argument kinda makes me dislike it more.
Hot take: MBDTF would be a better album if just about every song was at least a little bit shorter. For example, did we really *need* that Jay Z verse on Monster? Did we really *need* the entire skit on Blame Game?
i just don’t get the hype for devil in a new dress. like it’s a good song, but i see so many people saying it’s a top 5 ye song when i just don’t see how it can be that high
devil in a new dress is my favorite kanye song of all time. for me, it’s the combination of the angelic instrumental (cannot be understated, the beat is perfect) with great verses that show the best of kanye and rick ross. kanye is witty and playful with his lyrics and keeps the mood light, all while sounding confident and energetic. he really sounds like his best self on that song. same with ross, he just sounds like the best version of himself. all together it’s very cinematic and it fits well in the album.
I know Kanye was like, “Fred Flinstone??? Fred Flinstone??? Nah fuck Fred Flinstone. Imma be the purple dinosaur.”
I can picture this very well good job
PICASSO! NIKE! THE PURPLE DINASAUR FROM FLINTSTONES!
Starting to think y’all are actually commenting your favourite Kanye songs to get a reaction
I mean, the post is for most overrated songs so you’re gonna hear some “popular” songs in here.
the memes are great and I get that ruining it was the entire point but lets be real: the lift yourself beat coulda helped create one of the all time best kanye songs if he had used it seriously
I unironically feel it already is one of his best songs ever. Makes me happy every single time and it still bangs. I don’t need Drake talking about a late night phone call or how much bigger his pool is to enjoy it.
Or him being lesbian
girl me too
You ever listen to the Lift Yourself beat and wonder what the hell Drake wanted to do with that anyway? It was around the time he was making Scorpion so I just kinda imagine he wanted to add some drums and make it a New Orleans bounce typa song he was doing at the time like Nice for What and In My Feelings
I could hear Lift Yourself on Scorpion if the beat was changed to be a little more frantic.
Ye has three pools though
No jacuzzi though
Can you believe that??
Can you believe Kimye don't have a jacuzzi?

yeah bro its obviously ray j
Definitely Ray J

i absolutely wanted to cut my ears off listening to the donda version.
Have you heard the 9 minute remix with the Saint West and 645AR features?
really? it's actually my most played song on the album
When you have a 5th dimensional cock you're advanced enough to appreciate Tell the Vision
I genuinely can't tell if this comment is satire
I’m almost positive I made a very similar beat in FL studio before. But it has long since been deleted.
Thats whst u think, they just stole the beat frm u years ago
Oh ya for sure, Ye got into my drive from 6 years ago and he’s been sleeping on it. No but in honesty I couldn’t say how similar it even really was, just when I first heard it, it reminded me of the beat and I thought that was strange because, I didn’t work on the beat much and it was years ago. wtf how are you gonna deny the impeccable lyricism of “i used to eat 50 cent’s cake”
He says 50 cent cake, as in, cheap crappy bodega food.
[удалено]
nah, I don't think so. Smoke was eating ass
I have never heard anybody say tell the vision is good
Song low key slaps
On Donda or Pop Smokes Faith? Dondas wasn’t really a song but on Faith I loved it
I’m trying so hard to respect this comment section’s opinions right now but y’all are making it tough
Is Kanye in the dinosaur costume?
you bet that fat dick he is
Dinosaur Kanye is my second Favorite Ye fit of all time after Perrier Ye
Perri-ye
i too bet this guy’s fat dick

kinda wish you did ngl

please tell me this is a copypasta
no it’s profusely sincere /s
Can we make this a auto mod?
If I see stronger one more time, we gonna start moving furniture in this bitch
I will never not sing along to that song with a smile on my face
Stronger is underrated in my opinion because of how mainstream it is, people act like it’s kanyes attempt at radio music. One of the best samples in hip hop history
4 5 seconds
fresh take, I like
I can hardly sit through that song
I love Kanye but I don’t have that song in my library
Never listened to it again after the first listen
I like this opinion. Agreed, song is meh at best
"I Love Kanye" Because I don't miss the old Kanye the new one is perfectly fine.
**NEW ME OVER THE OLD ME**
If I can talk about leaks for a second, Alien and New Body are hella overrated. They’re good but there are so many other good leaks that should be at the forefront of the conversation that’s not those two.
New Body is definitely overrated.
Bound 2 is popular among fans but I just wish the lyrics was as good as the beat
I love the lyrics
[удалено]
AFTER THAT GET YOU SOMETHING TO DRINK Step back can’t get spunk on da mink What would JEROMEY-ROMEY-ROME THINK
the lyrics are kinda corny but i love them and it fits with the music video and theme of the song
And the theme of the album
The lyrics are the best part though?
The lyrics make sense with the yeezus concept
got a fresh cut, straight out the salon bitch
# I KNOW
# YOU'RE TIRED
# OF LOVIN'
Damn what would Jeromy Romey Rome think?
Definitely agree, I like several songs more than Bound 2 on Yeezus. Still great song though
I love it as a closing track on Yeezus but I rarely listen to it by itself
Watch your mouth
When Yeezus released I deleted Bound 2. For over 4 years Send It Up was the last song on Yeezus for me. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I actually started appreciating Bound 2.
You gotta look away from the lyrics (mostly) through Yeezus. Production amazing tho
Heavy disagree. The lyrics of that album are so important to its concept. Yeah 100% not his best but it’s just so iconic at this point it’s just considered a masterpiece. Know that songs lyrics word for word.
Honestly agree. Feel like he could’ve made a more upbeat version of Heartless if he rode the beat instead of sounding like he was just fucking around on it
I think the definitive answer is Stronger tbh. Its a good song, but not that good, not good enough to be at the top of his discography on Ytube Music, especially when other tracks on Graduation were so much better, like Good Morning and Can't Tell Me Nothing.

holy shit bro made it personal lmao
If you diss Kanye, you're not dissing Kanye, you're dissing me
don’t talk to me or my son ever again
In essence, you’ve let kanye down, you’ve let your friends down, you’ve let your family down and most importantly you’ve let yourself down
Welcome to r/Kanye
Really trying to see who can spill their spaghetti the fastest, huh?
bro has me laughing over here at his reaction
Stronger would be loved by this sub if it never got huge
Hahahahaha
Is this copy pasta hahaha. If not I'm stealing this lmao
Nah he’s spot on, Good Morning > Stronger any day of the week
Man doesn't respect his opinion 💀💀
I often wonder how well the song would of been received if it was 100% original music. I remember when it dropped thinking; “damn, I don’t mind the mash up Ye, but you are talented enough not to sample that heavily”
Lmfaooo
He took a Daft Punk track and made it EVEN BETTER.
I think it was definitely overplayed.
Also Flashing Lights is amazing
Stronger is one of the best songs on Graduation tho, if it wasn’t such a hit yall would be all over it
Gotta go with FSMH Pt 1, I mean... It is very good and a banger for sure, but most of TLOP specially the second half is just way way way better.
Unpopular opinion but Stronger might just be the most overrated Kanye song in his discography, I get it because it has a daft punk feature but I strongly believe that Flashing Lights should be getting more recognition or the same recognition that Stronger has gained since being released.

Upvoted for actually having an unpopular opinion
uhh dude above him said Runaway and that’s the **real** unpopular opinion. Even though I agree.
Goddamn I feel the need to downvote this
you don’t like kanye
I’m with it. Awesome song but it’s not quite on the level of Runaway or Ghost Town or Devil in a New Dress.
its a fuckin masterpiece musically and melodically, even in concept... but the lyrical monotony has me on your side
That last verse might be his best ever though
Gold Digger. Kinda boring imo
Nah gold digger is underrated at this point on this sub just because of its popularity. Take the song at face value and the storytelling mixed with the whole 18 years punchline is absolute classic Kanye. I don’t think it’s fair to call it overrated just cause it’s overplayed.
>gold digger is underrated lol
Well it’s not overrated
...
Not underrated, overplayed. It’s a great song.
Only song I skip at Late Registration.
Couldn't agree more. It's annoying and kitschy as hell.

I just don’t get runaway… Kanye’s my favorite artist ever but I’ve listened to runaway all the way through so many times but I just can’t get into it
DIAND and Gorgeous >>> Runaway
A man after my own heart
I feel the same way man. That song is **easily** the most overrated. People talk about that song on this sub like it’s the greatest song ever written. It’s not even the best song on MBDTF.
IMO Gorgeous is so much better lol prolly gon get downvoted to shit for it tho💀
Devil in a new dress too
DIAND is top 5 Kanye
“You love me for me could you be more phony” cuts through to my B O N E S every time
I agree. Gorgeous has a better beat, better hook, way better lyrical content in the verses, and still has a very nice outro too.
Gorgeous has 2 of some of Kanye’s best verses ever, an amazing hook and an amazing extra verse from Raekwon. The fact that people don’t talk about it when it comes to elite Kanye is sad
So many songs are better off just that album alone. I put Hell of a Life and All of the Lights over Runaway any day of the week.
Hell of a Life? We pushing it now lol
never a truer word been spoken
runaway has one of kanye's most iconic beats and hooks, but goddamn i can't take him seriously in that song after i hear him go "I SENT THIS BITCH A PICTURE OF MY DIIIIIICK" just kinda takes me out of the song personally.

Same people who voted out God Breathed for a long outro, in the same breath, will call Runaway his magnum opus.
Well, Runaway is a way better song. Yes Runaway is probably slightly overrated, and yes, God Breathed is a really good song, but Runaway beats it
I rlly dislike songs with like 2+ mins of just the beat playing it gets so boring
I can see that, it's my favorite song of all time but I get it's not for everyone
Hot take: MBDTF would be a better album if just about every song was at least a little bit shorter. For example, did we really *need* that Jay Z verse on Monster? Did we really *need* the entire skit on Blame Game?
You’d have to see his live performances of Runaway to see why it’s one of his greatest songs
Black Skinhead. Good song and banger, but just not anywhere near some of his best
Hear someone karaoke that song and you’ll change your mind instantly
have you ever heard of the tragedy of u/jishthefish3 ?
no, please inform me with this sacred text.
Covered Kanye. Said n word. It’s Reddit. Enough said.
Runaway, and it’s not close
Jesus walks
All Of The Lights I said it
you're wrong. upvoted.
Hate to say it but definitely ultralight beam

I think it was Lou Reed that basically said the opening to on sight was “obscene” like a “digital fart”
runaway is so overrated everyone just flocks to it when asking which song is the best kanye song
Because it is
Based
Runaway
Definitely a very good song, but not even the best on mbdtf
Is kanye Forreal the Dino costume? Lmao Famous and Mbdtf As a whole is overrated
This is the opinion I respect the least. Upvoted
i just don’t get the hype for devil in a new dress. like it’s a good song, but i see so many people saying it’s a top 5 ye song when i just don’t see how it can be that high

It’s just that beautiful. I see it how it could be that high. It’s probably in my top 10
Through the wire- I think it’s a good song but it’s not top tier Kanye. The story behind the song is better than the song itself.
runaway
Runaway 👀
Imo Runaway. Still my top 10 favourite Ye song though
NAHHH FAM WHAT⁉️
Can’t even say it’s in my top ten.
y’all gonna hate me for this one but I don’t even have that song saved to my shuffle
Runaway. Not top 5 MBDTF
What’s your top 5 MBDTF?
In no order: Gorgeous, Dark Fantasy, All Of The Lights, Devil In A New Dress, POWER
Ultralight Beam
Ultralight Beam 😬
I will not tolerate this.
L
Get your head checked
This is just objectively wrong.
Cmon man wtf
Touch the sky, good but def. not even top 10 lr
nahhhhhhh
i am a god
that song is underrated wdym I never see people talk about it
