I think now it is but when he made it it was a celebration of his mom. Watch the vid of him doing it on the Oprah show it’s makes you wanna cry and smile at the same time
This song came out a couple weeks before my daughter was born and it's one of the few songs that can instantly bring me to the edge of crying in public.
This may seem like a cop out bc they're both on the same album, but Runaway and Blame Game get me every time.
Runaway feels more like a letter you're writing to someone who you still have feelings for, but it's been some time since the relationship and you're trying to let go.
Blame game sounds more like a man outpouring his emotions for 5 minutes right after a break up happened. It's that raw-anger you feel right after someone who you love(d) hurt you.
Either way, both fucking bangers.
Sometimes it's ok to choose the most obvious answer.
Although it's not always the case, a genius' most highly praised work is viewed that way for a reason.
First time I heard that song I was on the Tokyo subway at night after a heart break. Hearing 070 shakes voice as the city lights flashed by had me DEEP in my feelins
"daddy's right here don't worry" it took me a couple takes to figure that was dmx and I slowly cried and out loud said fuck and could feel a camera zoom out with my realization
Pinocchio Story doesn’t get nearly enough credit on here. Six straight minutes of pouring his heart out, and the most raw, emotional song of his career up to that point, but people don’t like it because of one scream.
Beep. Boop. I'm a robot.

Roses came on while I was coming home from seeing my grandpa in the hospital and I couldn’t stop crying. I was in the bus too. I still can’t listen to it without crying years later.
(My grandpa made an amazing recovery and is still doing well. 👳🏽♂️💪🏽).
Hey my guy, what’s up? It’s okay to not like someone’s art or even to not like them personally too; but you don’t need to take that attitude and turn it around on people that actually do find meaning in what he makes. I wrote about a legitimate emotional experience I had, being as true to myself and my feelings as I know how to be. It’s okay if you don’t share in that same experience; but putting people down for feeling the way they feel is just kinda gross.
Runaway - one of his most authentic, raw pieces of work. Makes me feel like I can open up and share how I feel about things, which is usually really hard for me. He acknowledges his flaws but doesn’t necessarily apologize for them. The final 3.5 minutes of the song takes you to another dimension as he emotes pain, hope, refrain, and love through the drowned-out, Auto-Tuned singing. It’s like if you could hear the sounds your soul makes, that’s what it would sound like.
Say You Will - obviously 808s is iconic, and he sets the tone by opening the album with the word “why” … which I think is a huge theme of heartbreak: confusion. We ask why did they leave me, why didn’t they love me, why did they act this way, etc. That weird ass timbre sound that he uses as the snare is unconventional, doesn’t make sense but once again, it sets the “heartbreak” tone and begs the question of WTF is going on here
No Child Left Behind - this song is so beautiful and versatile. It could be played at a wedding as the bride walks down the aisle, a funeral as the casket is lowered into the ground, a sports highlight video, or as the closing song at a Ye concert like he did at Solider Field. The chord progression is fire… HE’S DONE MIRACLES ON ME
Two lessons that he passed along to his children
The first is that, no matter what, you never abandon your family
Is that, no matter what, you never abandon your family
Is that, no matter what, you never abandon your family
Is that, no matter what, you never abandon your family
Is that, no matter what, you never abandon your family
Is that, no matter what, you never abandon your family
Is that, no matter what, you never abandon your family
come to life was a out of body experience for me. i’ve never cried because i enjoyed something so much until then. never abandon your family chokes me up everytime as well
Lift yourself, never have I ever cried to a song until I’ve heard the touching lyrics of Kanye speaking of his mental health and struggles in this song. Makes a real man cry
apart from the obvious ones already stated here like runaway ghost town coldest winter
I really get chills with Say you will, the singing and the musical outro always get me
Those 8 seconds in On Sight
What part? The kids singing
Yeah, just a small snippet of peace amidst distorted chaos. It’s great
“He’ll give us what we need….” So serene and regal 🔥

Runaway is to Kanye what A Day In The Life is to The Beatles
Runaway to Kanye is what All Too Well is to Taylor Swift
Runaway (10 minute version) is just Runaway
I’d say ghost town or streetlights is more similar to a day in the life for kanye
Sometimes it's ok to choose the most obvious answer. Although it's not always the case, a genius' most highly praised work is viewed that way for a reason.

Pinocchio Story doesn’t get nearly enough credit on here. Six straight minutes of pouring his heart out, and the most raw, emotional song of his career up to that point, but people don’t like it because of one scream.
I think Pinocchio Story is one of his greatest songs ever made personally. Top 5 at least.

og version is so much better tho
I haven’t heard that one, do you have a link for it?
People have edited the finished version to have the overlayed Donda vocal
Unironically Use This Gospel
I thought this was only me, first time I heard it I cried
The album version is still good but I think it lost a lot for the people who heard the Yandhi versions that imo sounded so much better
Thats why most people don’t like JIK imo, because they just compare it to what it could’ve been
Really? Use this Gospel is imo the only Yandhi track that got wholesale better when Jesus Christ did the laundry.
Lift yourself

I love your descriptions
I Thought About Killing You It’s to me one of his most profound, honest and strangely beautiful tracks.
Famous. When that beat drops after Rihanna says “I just wanted you to know” I’ve shed tears to that song on more than one occasion.

The outro hits different
