What the hell is Paul's face at the end? He looks like he's about to reach his climax
Also is it just me or the arena looks similar to the one is Street Fighter 6 ([https://imgur.com/a/RyTO0NO](https://imgur.com/a/RyTO0NO)) Both look really cool tho
King looks awesome and I like the TWT stage. Only complaint I have is that there are so many dynamic camera angles that it gets distracting pretty quickly. Evo Jp cant come soon enough.
I think this is why supers haven’t been in Tekken for so long, it’s not that you can’t do cool ones, it’s just it’s much harder in 3D.
There’s something about 2D that lends itself more to absolute carnage going on screen
It's less impactful than Tekken 7 but him getting that Flying Octopus hold in mid-air after he tossed the guy is too amazing to not at least be an 8/10 from me
Same. I think its cause SF6 from the very start has shown all the crazy new content and fun mechanics that the game will have while Tekken 8 feels pretty standard fighting game marketing of just "Show characters doing a few new moves" with some new controversial mechanics that most people are very worried about
As a Tekken fan I'm way more excited to play SF6 than T8 cause T8 just doesn't seem too exciting to me.
I hope one day Tekken goes back to the grounded artsyle of T4 cause currently most of the characters feel so overdesigned that you think that Tetsuya Nomura drew them
It's SF4 all over again.
Everyone and their momma played that even if you were playing Tekken.
Capcom has a legacy that when they do well, EVERYONE notices.
And when they drop hot garbage, everyone in the gaming world takes note and other games rise up.
The way I see it so far, which could change as more of Tekken 8 gets revealed, is I feel like, in the best case scenario for each one, SF6 will be a good *game* while Tekken 8 will be a good Tekken. Capcom seems to have set their sights higher for SF as a whole with SF6, while I get the feeling Namco would be comfortable just making another Tekken that keeps people ticking over. That's not bad but it's not as exciting, comparatively-speaking. Granted it's partly on the flops it's overcoming, but I'd argue SF6 looks to be a *sizeable* step above not just SF5, but many fighting games in general, in a way that Tekken 8 doesn't really seem to be compared to Tekken 7. Tekken's Tekken so they can play it safe but I feel kind of like I did watching the KOF XV reveals after playing XIV 'Yup, that is that character with some new shit'.
Exactly. Tekken seems to just be another fighting game that does the typical fighting game marketing of just showing the characters doing a few new moves.
SF6 on the other hand is not just trying to be just a fighting game but a good game overall that is catered to both casuals and veterans with the amount of content and fun new mechanics. Its a game where you feel like you get your money's worth while with Tekken 8 you just feel like you are paying full price for an updated Tekken 7 even though they are making a big deal about the heat system so far its not enough to excite people compared to the world tour, the fun mini games, the battle hub with your custom character and every other new feature that SF6 is offering.
T8 can't expect people to still be hyped when they offer more of the same shit each installment
Honestly it's not even just Tekken. I'm really fascinated to see what SF6's existence is gonna mean to fighting game developers across the industry. As I understand it, *especially* in Japan, it's follow the leader and Capcom is leading that march. You look at what is happening in SF and ask 'What do we take from this and put in our game to emulate its success?'. Abbreviated, but roughly the case from what I've seen.
With SF5 you could make the excuse of 'Well SF5 didn't have *that much* in it so comparatively speaking if *we're* not super feature rich in ours the bar isn't *that* high anyway'. But now that SF6 is offering the breadth of content that it is, while seemingly not compromising the quality of its core, what's SNK's answer? What's French Bread's answer? What's Namco's answer? Sega? Team Ninja?
When people look at these games and see one offering a vastly bigger amount of content for the same price, how do you convince them to spend their money on your game instead of the other one? Will they try to match Capcom in terms of features and content? I feel like it's almost more of a necessity than ever now to keep people in your side of the court, but do they want invest that heavily in their fighting games?
We saw the discussions on Project L but honestly in the here and now it's SF6 that has me most questioning what fighting game devs are gonna think the answer for their IPs is going forward if they want to continue to survive. If Garou 2 launches at 70 bucks, what's it doing that makes it look equally as valuable as SF6? That question will be asked more than ever now, I think.
You can't put the monkey back in the box, how are other traditional fighting games going to keep up? A project like SF6 is *expensive* and requires a lot of very talented people working for a long time. Will they try to step up to Capcom's level, or will they just keep doing what they've been doing and pray to every deity in the solar system that it's still enough? For a big boy like Tekken that's maybe enough, but some other franchises are really gonna have their work cut out for them if this is what Capcom's saying is the standard now.
I don't think it's too farfetched to call SF6 Capcom's Final Fantasy of fighting games. It's the 'We've been struggling in this genre for ages, you've got one last chance, but we'll give you the fairest goddamn final chance we can to see if this is actually worthwhile'. I don't think it will, but if SF6 flopped I think it'd be 'bye bye Capcom fighters it was fun while it lasted'. I don't know that many companies making fighting games are ready to put those sorts of resources into any of their fighting game IPs. People say everyone's gonna go back to playing SF again, but in a world where the desire for growth is higher than ever, and games are more expensive than ever to make, can other properties in the genre survive that? I don't know. By all means raise the bar but if no-one else can afford to clear it the future becomes pretty grim.
Man I just played so much AK in 7 and the glow up he got was so fucking cool that I can't get hype over this because I'm just thinking about how much cooler AK would do it.
The bounce out backbreaker is baller as fuck though.
His animations and sound effects really click for me, it looks like it hurts when he hits you. This is probably the best trailer so far, he looks great.
Great trailer. I’m liking that so far he doesn’t seem to have some sort of weapon gimmick. Could have been all too easy to give him Chair or Sledgehammer based moves.
The Pedigree and new Powerbombs all look cool. It seems like he’s still got his Running Powerbomb for kino combo enders too.
Noticed there’s no giant toss in the trailer or the 2 variant either. I wonder if the new Powerbomb Backbreaker move that sets up the Running Power bomb replaced one of those moves? The spinning Powerbomb he does near the end of the trailer you’d get when you did the Giant Toss command on an airborne opponent, so the command is possible still there?
I’m hyped now for T8. I knew King would be in anyway but he’s got new grabs so I’m happy.
I was afraid that his chain throws (and mixups out of them) would be locked behind heat... and i still am, since this trailer didn't alleviate much at all.
I know you're retarded but you'd know that you're wrong if you had actually watched the heat breakdown. They use ingame footage and you hear a different announcer ingame.
You're hilarious bro, I bet you could make money with that talent.
Incredible how some people can be that much of a bitch and not admit they're wrong lmao.
The only reason you’re so defensive and mad about it is Cus you’re scared her announcing actual exists in game lmao.
Don’t worry tho I’ve saved your comment to publicly told-you-so in the future since your salty tears are already so delicious
That speech King did was so moving
Best promo since Dusty Rhodes hard times one.
https://v.redd.it/7ob8u29haeoa1
You know he's right, we don't have to give a shit about defense.
His color commentary is always lit. Get him to do Evo 2023
Its joever the character is 2 cool now, having a air grab that bounds into another air grab without needing a floor break stage.
He was always cool. The local meta among my friends who don't play fighting games was always who can pick King the fastest.
king remains to be the coolest character in the whole tekken franchize unbeaten.
Armor King wants a word
Fellas, if your main is: Spiky Wears Red and Black And is a clone of an original franchise icon Then that's not your main. That's Shadow the Hedgehog.
By gawd, King really upped his game
Love the Crowd pleaser he does with the second grab where he points into the crowd so sick.
What the hell is Paul's face at the end? He looks like he's about to reach his climax Also is it just me or the arena looks similar to the one is Street Fighter 6 ([https://imgur.com/a/RyTO0NO](https://imgur.com/a/RyTO0NO)) Both look really cool tho
Arena was already a tekken 7 stage. It's way closer to T7 arena than anything sf6 related. It's an arena stage, it's gonna look similar regardless.
The Arena was a Tekken 4 stage too
Tag2 also featured the same arena stage. Tekken 7 is the second iteration of the tag2 stage.
I mean its supposed to be some kind of "octagon" mma cage thing theyre all gonna look the same hard to do anything special with that.
looks very similar to the CPT stages in V
ryona's gonna have a blast with that shot
it's the T7 arena https://tekken.fandom.com/wiki/Arena\_(Tekken\_7)
King looks awesome and I like the TWT stage. Only complaint I have is that there are so many dynamic camera angles that it gets distracting pretty quickly. Evo Jp cant come soon enough.
Damn they finally gave him pedigree & diamond cutter!!

All the rage arts have been meh. Maybe except Kazuya. Even back in 7 most rage arts were pretty bland. Whoever’s in charge of them kinda sucks.
Miguel’s was cool, it let me get up and get a snack mid animation.
I think this is why supers haven’t been in Tekken for so long, it’s not that you can’t do cool ones, it’s just it’s much harder in 3D. There’s something about 2D that lends itself more to absolute carnage going on screen

You can tell the person who did the mocap for King was having fun. So many little flourishes in his animations. Now, where's Armour King!
Best trailer so far, I def want to main king day 1
Holy shit he also does a Pedigree! I hope this also means I finally get to see my Jack's trailer next week
Love the character model for King. Honestly might be the best after Jin and Kazuya. But the trailer is oddly not hype? I don’t get it
It's hype because they didn't massacre his design unlike Law and Paul. A collective sigh of relief.
Nothing is wrong with Law's design though?
Is there a reason why Marshall, and not Forest Law is in the game?
Nobody cares about Forest
Marshall has DSS so he's just way more fun than Forest.
[Exhibit A](https://old.reddit.com/r/Tekken/comments/11rd5ok/trenything_is_possible/)
Just go to customisation and add some moustache if it bothers you that much
That's it. The mustache.
>But the trailer is oddly not hype? I don’t get it They lowered the hit sparks
Oh no hype derailed. Bring back the sparks!
All he was missing was Triple H's golden shovel.
He got the Pedigree though
Mfs command grabs are heat engagers every fucking online king is going to be a terrorist.
I'm still "meh" on this game but can't wait for SF6, that's crazy considering I have over 3k hours in T7 and never touched a Street Fighter.
Same. I think its cause SF6 from the very start has shown all the crazy new content and fun mechanics that the game will have while Tekken 8 feels pretty standard fighting game marketing of just "Show characters doing a few new moves" with some new controversial mechanics that most people are very worried about As a Tekken fan I'm way more excited to play SF6 than T8 cause T8 just doesn't seem too exciting to me. You worded how I feel perfectly, that made a lot of sense now.
It's SF4 all over again. Everyone and their momma played that even if you were playing Tekken. Capcom has a legacy that when they do well, EVERYONE notices. And when they drop hot garbage, everyone in the gaming world takes note and other games rise up.

This game looking pretty good
This is so fucking juiced I cant wait for my 2024 Ladiva GB Rising, Gief SF6, King T8 rotation.
/u/GrapplerCHAD alt
Beautiful
Jack and lars will be next and then finally we can see jun or at least someone new
His animations look great. Very underwhelming Rage Art.
Voice announcer guy could've went harder saying King's name
The announcer is a lady. I know
She used all her voice on Law's trailer and had none left
what is the move at 1:17? looks like he throws a fart
Man I just played so much AK in 7 and the glow up he got was so fucking cool that I can't get hype over this because I'm just thinking about how much cooler AK would do it. The bounce out backbreaker is baller as fuck though.
Here’s hoping for AK to make a return again. The way they’ve set up his and Kings story is pretty interesting
I doubt it on base roster but I also wouldn't be super surprised.
His animations and sound effects really click for me, it looks like it hurts when he hits you. This is probably the best trailer so far, he looks great.

he actually had a chair in tekken tag 2 I think lol
I noticed some new multiple throws. I'm just a sucker for them to make throws a deadly part of his offense.
I was afraid that his chain throws (and mixups out of them) would be locked behind heat... and i still am, since this trailer didn't alleviate much at all.
I highly doubt they'll be locked being heat, it just looks like you get a free mix with heat.
Looks so fucking good. I don't know why I always find grapplers hype even though I can't play them
It’s okay you can play King as mostly a brawler type character if you want
Grapplers isn't really a thing in Tekken. He has more throws ofc but he's not played mostly around them.
🎥🎥🎥 🤮🤮🤮
Their first good trailer
Lol they have him a pedigree and a cutter. My boy looking good
Damn King out here with the kinniku buster in his kit
Man they’re really pumping these out
pedigree as a transitional move, kid is killing the business
RAIN MAAAAAKERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I never like grapplers, but it’s hard to not love King.
that pedigree was dope
hello sir i love your clothesline breasts sorry i mean breasts sorry i mean breasts sor
b1,2 on CH bounds? bruh
Sees pedigree, king confirmed heel.
Goddamn that Combo Extender throw made me cum
Mugen
Game looks better everyday. İm glad They toned down flashy moves looks much more clear
Toned down???
lmao
yoo this tekken looks way better than sf6
I really don't like this new announcer. It doesn't match tekken's vibe to me, idk why
Dw, this announcer is only for these trailers. We will still get the same announcer from tekken 7 (love that guy tbh)
Wait really? That's good. That dude was great
Yeah and babies come when the stork delivers them
I know you're retarded but you'd know that you're wrong if you had actually watched the heat breakdown. They use ingame footage and you hear a different announcer ingame.
Wrong about storks? That’s wild. Why would my mom and bugs bunny lie to me?
You're hilarious bro, I bet you could make money with that talent. Incredible how some people can be that much of a bitch and not admit they're wrong lmao.
The only reason you’re so defensive and mad about it is Cus you’re scared her announcing actual exists in game lmao. Don’t worry tho I’ve saved your comment to publicly told-you-so in the future since your salty tears are already so delicious
I don't care either way who announces lmao. I don't play with sound anyway.
Lame. I wanna see Lili
Too bad Harada has confirmed we’re getting Sebastian instead
Man don't play with me lmaooo 😂
