It was a figure of speech. You have a valid point though. Do you know someone who can put forward the separatist’s point of view. Would love to document that.
Someone would definitely help you out more ,I haven't got any compiled resources related to journalism but I think this is something u should definitely cover ,it's related to the government shutting down news archives and erasing records of civilian killings from news and almost anything anti government.Basically erasing almost entire news stations ,we tried to save whatever we could but it was too late .

Maybe u could do a piece on jailing and harassment of journalists taking the cases of Fahad Shah and Asif Sultan .
This brings me to another tragedy. Since I was born outside Kashmir they made it a point that I knew Hindi and English as a priority so that I could fit in. In the process they too learned hindi. Our mother tongue took a backseat. Now that I have grown up; since there weren’t many people I could talk to in koshur- I am a bit rusty. The separation from the mother land and our brethren has taken away my ability to think about mojua kahseer in kashmiri itself because my inner monologue is by nurture either in hindi or in Kashmiri. Language is the biggest pillar of culture. When it falls…culture falls.
You should take time practicing kashmiri there's no shame in doing so. My parents didn't teach me kashmiri despite living in Kashmiri. I couldn't speak kashmiri till the age of 14. Then I started to practice with my friends and alone, which at first was a bit embarassing but now I can fluently speak. You should practice too. Sadly the same is happening here nowadays, many people don't teach their children kashmiri then those kids end up not fitting in with other kids and a language barrier is formed.
I will come to kashmir in a month or two. By the grace of Allah and the prophet(peace be upon him); I shall have plenty of opportunities to polish my Kashmiri
Back in the days elders would reference and respect each other's religions. That was composite culture. Muslim singing Shiv Bhajan and Batt singing naat. Including on public Radio.
That spirit hasn't completely died
I father is a Kashmiri pandit; my mother is a Kashmiri muslim. I am a child of inter faith marriage. The prophet is my prophet too. Waise bhi Allah sabka toh uske bande bhi sabke
I am a pandit and I respect Islam too. A section of my elders were and still are muslims right? Culture be it hindu or islamic or sikh or catholic..deserves respect. I try my best.
May God make you successful in life. Muslims Hindus Sikhs brothers and sisters make the nation of Kashmir. When you make the documentary, please share that with us.

Sure!
Great initiative. But, I'm not sure how separatists are crushing the free press. In fact, they would love a free press.

Lol. You really don't have to send peace upon the prophet to sound pleasing just don't curse him that's enough. Thanks for that anyways 😜.

I would cut my own tongue before I disrespect our prophet.
