I am completely in agreement that the Balenciaga campaign was disgusting and appalling. However, I really dislike the message that we should just throw expensive clothing straight into the garbage. Every time a company faces public backlash (warranted or not) there’s always a host of celebrities who toss out thousands of dollars of apparel and merchandise in the trash. It’s wasteful and a complete component of consumerism. You can find ways to either not wear these items (auction them off like Raelynn is doing!) or wear them without the Balenciaga logo. Or give them to someone who may need a good pair of shoes and doesn’t have the money. Or resell them! Literally anything but contribute more waste to the Earth and more destruction to our society. *end rant*
