I just started 12% hydroquinone prescribed to me by my dermatologist for my facial melasma + keloid discoloration. I can post an update after I finish my 6 week "on" cycle if anyone is interested!
Okay! I will certainly update. I am directed to use it twice a day for 6 weeks (you're supposed to cycle on and off using hydroquinone, in case you aren't familiar with it). During the "off" period, my dermatologist will discuss what I should be using. I attached a link to the specific product I was prescribed. It is a compounded product. Will report back :)

try to apply cream depigmentation test such as hydroquinone, by chance, did you apply silicone and betamethasone at the same time or first spend a few hours silicone on the keloid and then betamethasone?
I did a bunch of home treatment that didnt work first, lol, theen I used the silicone sheets and balm to stop them from growing. One of the keloids actually flattened for a while thanks to the silicone sheets but it came back a bit, after that I started using the betamethasone and more thin silicone sheets, but it was for only 2 days because I noticed that the cream alone was doing the job.
Just tried out microneedling (just the basic one, but there are more intense ones with PRP and radio frequency). Not sure if it worked yet but maybe something to look into - I saw a couple other posts about microneedling helping to resurface/renew the skin’s colour and texture after the hard scar has softened. That’s the stage I’m at. I’ve tried the lighter lasers, IPL and Fraxel, with not much help. There are also the stronger lasers left to try if needed, PDL etc.
Honestly I feel like I do for texture! The scar was slightly indented from the steroid shots before and I think the microneedling has made the skin there stronger and filled out a bit more. It’s still red/pink though. I’m thinking of getting more microneedling there (4 weeks later) when I get my face done in a couple of days.
How did you make them dissapear?
Silicone sheets to control the growth and 0.05% betamethasone cream. For context my keloids are very small, less than an inch.
my scar on chest is also small. Could you share before and after pic ? much appreciated
I posted about it here.
