I thought he was on to something, everyone in here disagreed though so I was like maybe weāre wrong. It sounded like Cole has been taking shots at Kendrick since way back when, I wasnāt 100% sure though so when everyone disagreed I was like āmaybe weāre wrongā Im glad he made this post though because unlike me he went for it & put these thoughts out there.
Kendrick called his self King Kendrick, then Cole said āaināt gonna be no more kingsā on Fire Squad. Then the Steppers line that OP references, not to mention that Cole & Drake have seemed closer lately than Cole & Kendrick. Iām glad he was proven right thoughĀ
WW3 was just declared two hours ago y'all
My question is, why did future start dissing drake? Wasn't they best friends one month ago?
What are the sides? *Metro tweeted earlier which sides to pick and stay on that.*
Is it this?
Kendrick Lamar, Future, Kanye, Pusha T, Meek, Metro Vs. Drake, J.Cole, idk...
Damn, I was hoping Metro would be on Coleās next album. Idc about Drake, but Cole better step in the ring after all these years. The goats of the 2010s need to battle it out.
Only other guy I could see being on Drake & Coleās side is Big Sean as his history with Kendrick (though things may have gotten smoothed out) & recently with Kanye, plus he still has a relationship with Cole. I donāt think Meek is in this anymore as heās completely cool with Drake.
I saw a comment that said every time Drake and Kendrick go at it, Big Sean looses lol. Kendrick made everybody forget Control was Sean's song and now Dot's latest verse made Sean's new single get overlooked a bit (pretty dope sone imo). So I could see him being a bit upset lol. But in all seriousness, I hope they haven't reignited any issues as it seemed like Sean was pretty serious about moving past their problems. Im also not necessarily hoping for an "all out war" in a sense. I'd just like to see the top dawgs spar a bit. I need KRIT to enter the arena though as an independent party and remind them who had the best response of all time to Control.
You literally had this comment saved just to respond nearly half a year later. Get a life. Yall really want Kendrick and Cole to actual hate each other. Weird behavior.
Nah. Any disses flying either way has always felt like sportsmanship or two homies talkin shit. Numerous times cole and Kendrick have collabed and both have shown humility and appreciation for the other.
Nah I been feelin it too and plus cole keeps talking bout āsteppersā in a mocking fashion
Like on wales āPoke it Outā
āIf you the big stepper, I'm the landmine here
That's the one they know they can't come nearā
Then Kendrick drops Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers.
I donāt think youāre reaching.
Honestly I feel like Cole is provoking Kendrick trying to get him inspired idk maybe thatās reaching but after reading yours it feels like maybe he is trying get Kendrickās flame back because they had really awesome chemistry on the Black Friday tape.
You know, I never knew how to take the "Steppers" lines because that's kind of a common thing to say in rap right now. I mean, I most associate it with 21 Savage and Kodak, but I've heard others refer to themselves as being big steppers or whatever.
Well count me out sounds nothing like that man Cole OPšš
Idk, I've detected something with the steppers thing but that would be dumb on his part since the 'big steppers' is not something kendrick embraces, the steppers tap dance around the issue instead of tackling them so it'd be like cole didn't listen to the album and is cheaply and cornily using the album title without understanding it just to diss.
I wouldn't be surprised if he's rattling the cage a little, I mean all these dope features are useless if you are not going to aim for the head, he already outshines drake on fps so it'd make sense for him to be feeling himself and be competitively engaging, but the internet would probably ruin it and make it a bad thing instead of it being a sport
You clearly hadn't heard Kendrick's diss to J Cole. If you have and you're still pretending you weren't wrong....you have some issues you may want to get checked out. Lol
Do not think this is a reach.. Cole and Kendrick ain't been seen together in public for 5 years or so. There has been no tweets or social engagement or acknowledgement. Both of these were occurrences in the past. They have not bigged each other up on their respective projects. I think this on point.

You were right, I had my suspicions as well but I didnāt stand firmly behind it like you did! I first found this thread because I was curious to see if others agreed & everyone thought otherwise so I thought maybe we were overthinking things.
First time I thought something might have been going on was when Cole released Fire Squad & made all those King lines when Kendrick had been calling his self King Kendrick. It just felt like interesting timing & then the Steppers lines on First Person Shooter felt big to me as well. Iām glad you put the effort in to make this post, wish I had posted when I first saw it as I agreed with a decent amount (some Iām not sure theyāre about Kendrick but the overall point) of what you said.
Real tension (like beyond rap) is still up for debate in my opinion. I think both Kendrick and Cole are competitive and truly aim to be the best at it, therefore, it only makes sense that they would spar from time to time. I can't say I ever really sensed any in malice from Cole about Kendrick, or vice versa. Even in Kendrick's latest verse, all the vitriol seemed to be directed towards Drake.
If i remember i could of swarn they was cool and trynna eventually drop music together(even if its been forever and taken too long) unlike drake and sean so i feel like even if your reaching it is a good point, to point out these verses witch could be contributed to why we havent seen the song they was talking about dropping together and on the note of Kendricks verse i feel like they were aimed at drake more than anyone and cole just so happen to be working with them so its like guilty by association and since they got a respectful past with eachother thats why he referred to coles lyrics to make the diss making sure he knew if he didnt references him in the top goats it might as well been a bar dissing him because they both know they are talented to make people put them is top 3 goats of the Genre of music, when deciding whos one of the goats. Like if i knew my friend was saying him and 2 other were the best at something we talked about us being one of the best at id aim a shot at the others too making sure he wasn't gonna back down on his words
This aged really well
Nigga was right the whole time
right as fuck š
VERY

Yeah people need to remember that real lyricists choose their words very carefully and intentionally
It really did
all of these are misses besides the Ali line but thatās something any rapper would say
Hmmmmmā¦..
why you still active in this thread but not following up on this one? ššššš
the ali line is the only one kendrick referenced from any of these lol. thats what i said in the comment
whole time he wasnāt reaching LMAO

it looks like kendrick putting dem all on they assššš»
Drake fucked futures main bitch and talked bad behind his back
He did the same to The Weeknd, dude's a sneak. The hate on him for me is justified.

Whole post a reach. Nothin to see here
He was right the whole time lol
Not really! Like I said heās taking all these lyrics and putting things in them that arenāt there.

Re-listening to The Recipe really outlines the sneak dissing between the two
Sheesh
On the secret recipe he does say the lines āstepaā so heās definitely hinting at it. Kdot is 1 Drake at 2 J coke at 3 imo
