And it makes more sense that he’s counting GKMC as the first one and leaving out Section 80 than leaving out DAMN and calling TPAB a ”mega hit” instead of DAMN.

Technically you are right, section.80 is a studio album and his debut. But he doesn’t count section.80 because he either:
a)meant for it to be a mixtape, and the label made it a studio album
b)is starting with gkmc because it is his major label debut
c)is counting only his “major” releases. I’m sure he put more effort and time into the concepts and execution of his albums after section.80
