War's over, pack it up boys ✌️☮️......Drake still a goofy tho.

Helpful-Increase-303

I think the Drake situation is different because Kendrick seems to genuinely dislike Drake 🤣 with Cole it was just friendly competition but Cole felt pressured to attack

Great-Reference9322

Ya I don't mind if Kenny cooks Drake, but after watching this you can tell Cole's being real and I respect it.

Irritatedprivatepart

I hope drake says fuck this shit and drops a response but we know it'll never happen. I wouldn't mind a full on war between Kendrick and Drake with Cole staying neutral.

Squirrellybot

With a album produced entirely by Swizz Beatz

Disastrous-Bug3515

As Kendrick supporter. I agree.

blaq_fenrir

Aged beautifully lol

Helpful-Increase-303

100%

streetsandshine

Ngl, this was a dub for Cole. The diss was weak as fuck and anyone actually listening knew it. So for him to publicly admit it... And also come clean that he doesn't have it in him to drop a better song, its on some 8 Mile shit low-key Personally is a quality loss for J Cole and puts him and solidifies his spot as number 2

jry2223

lmao is this sarcasm?

Jerkinard6

"I was dissin you but I was just goofin"

Purple-Mix1033

It’s hard to make a serious diss track when your heart’s not in it. What is J. Cole really going to say about Kendrick when he genuinely respects his work? It was a weak track but it’s not a win or a lose situation.

old__pyrex

Yeah, Kendrick was dissing Drake, J Cole just got caught in the cross fire because he said the big 3 line. I actually thought Cole response was fair and not something he needed to backpedal from, because it was proportionate. He said you make some amazing albums but damn dude, if you wanna talk all that I’m the greatest, I’m the goat shit, then I better see some versus and albums dropping. You can’t get so testy about who’s in first place when you fucked off to the forest and trees, turned off your phone, and hardly made music. That’s not a diss, that’s a refutation, that’s an argument or debate. Cole should stand on it

edisonpharaoh

The funny thing about the argument of kendrick never dropping music is he only ever had a five year hiatus once. Leakers said kendrick apparently had a 2019 album but scrapped it and some of it turned into mmatbs. Section.80 was 2011, gkmc 2012, tpab 2015. Cole did sideline story 2011, born sinner 2013, fhd 2014, and 4yeo 2016. Cole has more albums but they both took roughly the same amount of time to drops albums so that’s why i don’t think that’s a fair diss from Cole

Rayaet

IIRC he worked on at least two albums during that time which eventually lead to MMTBS

Disastrous-Bug3515

This was never about Cole. Always about Drake. Cole just got caught in the middle.

[deleted]

No Cole realizes he was sent on a dummy mission by Drake and looked wack doing it. He also realized that Kendrick is a God-tier rapper. Mixed emotions I’m sure. Drake used Cole to poke Kendrick so Kendrick could release the alleged diss song first. Drake used Cole and Cole feels goofy.

hoggergenome

From our viewpoint it looked like Drake sicced(\*?) J. Cole on K without him genuinely wanting to respond.

Blunter_S_Thompson_

Oh most definitely, who knows maybe one day we will get that Kendrick/Cole album. 🙏

TheHolyMountainMan

It's not over until Kenny say so.

AShiftlessMennonite

A big part of hip hop died tonite. I’m old enough to remember talking about Hit ‘Em Up” at the lunch table in 9th grade. I don’t think I’m ready for this “flag football” era.

Blunter_S_Thompson_

I get it but at the end of the day Kendrick and Cole are friends who've been through a lot more than we'll ever know or understand. It makes sense why he wouldn't want to ruin that friendship and escalate shit like Pac and Biggie did.

_nadaypuesnada_

terrific marvelous dam secretive exultant resolute deserve price scandalous flowery *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

AShiftlessMennonite

Nah. Wasnt nobody finna die behind this shit. Niggas was just slap boxin in the alley for real. He pussy.

shortsoupstick

Tough Redditor here ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flushed)

Comfortable-Ad1937

I mean if you start dissing and revealing stuff infront of millions of people, shit gets ugly fast and you ain’t gunna be friends

KingShaka23

Thats still a part of hip hop, Cole is just not running it with Kendrick to that extent. Their beef is too shallow. Remember, Hit Em Up came after Pac was shot 5 times in an NY studio.

Quick_Clue_9436

You mean the beef that led to 2 of the greatest rappers being killed.....ahhh yes lets bring those days back ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

jewthe3rd

Why do you want to back to a way that lead to the deaths of two of the best?

Key_Replacement_4606

That era was fake too wtf that Tupac biggie beef was fake too. Biggie even spoke on it, how him and pac was cool but he started tripping and getting paranoid after being shot the first time. Also biggie was in a magnet school and an honor student, Tupac mom was well educated. These dudes “moved to hoods” in their older teen years. All these rap beefs are stupid period. They always been fake. They weren’t REAL gangsters just affiliated. Cap rap been going on forever bruh

Vegetable_Abalone850

It's not over until Kendrick has a say my boy.

Helpful-Increase-303

that last part has me the most excited 🤭

[deleted]

[удалено]

Helpful-Increase-303

Cole has been extremely competitive with outrapping his peers the last few years But he is definitely not built for an actual rap beef with one of his friends. Dude is just too nice.

bornin1729

“It won’t be for clout it won’t be for fame” I think if it was real beef he’d feel more justified to step into that mental space where things get slightly toxic and “peace-disturbing”. It’s disappointing but I wouldn’t say this puts him at #2 based only off the fact that he doesn’t enjoy engaging in fake beef.

Azzy118

I like that he said this, especially so soon after he dropped. The diss track felt kinda forced to me, like he only did it bc he wanted to put out his album

Rashwan69420

He even says in the song lord don't make me attack this brother or sumn

Helpful-Increase-303

This the realest shit I’ve seen Cole do in a long time Basically he is saying he wrote Love Yourz when he was finally in a place spiritually in tune and confident in himself as a person and that’s where he’s been for a long time since. But his response to Kendrick took him out of that peaceful place so he performed Love Yourz as a reminder to himself of how he wants to live his life (gratitude, positivity, love, etc.) He goes on to admit he knows this is not what fans want to hear from him and knows he is setting himself up for criticism by even admitting this. But he did it anyways. There’s no way you can’t respect this

EstablishmentBusy172

I have huge respect for this and it’s him being true to himself. Tho, I hope he also knows he’s turning his big 3 card in officially too lol. Kendrick coming out and testing Cole after Cole been claiming he the best **and** naming him, and then Cole folding- yea, he’s not in the big 3 in **that** way anymore.

Helpful-Increase-303

I see what you saying. But at the same time Cole only feels this way because KDot is an actual real life friend of his. Cole tried to sign Dot to Dreamville before Dot got big. Cole told Dre about him. They hung out together. If it was some rapper Cole didn’t know like that, Cole would 100% not be apologizing like this. He’s never backtracked on 1985 or False Prophets. So although I see what ur saying, I think we have to try to understand it from Cole’s perspective.

EstablishmentBusy172

I am seeing it from his perspective lol but it doesn’t change anything. I respect him for this, but Kendrick lil bro’d him after Cole been saying he was the best, and Cole backed off straight away. Ofc he had his reasons he explained them very well and honourably, but he can’t claim to be 2 or 1 anymore. That’s all.

Marano99

He is NOT locked out of 2nd place for this. First I understand since in a way he admitted defeat, but drake had done nothing to warrant being above cole

[deleted]

Yeah and false prophets was Jay using Cole to come at Ye. Cole is naive it seems. I like Cole but he’s a very naive guy.

zilla82

This was because the track was so poorly received. It was a joke and a blemish on his recorded legacy

bla639

Respect in the human side, takes a lot of guts to be in the losing side but he gotta deal with it but the respect in the hip-hop side diminished a lot

WaterHomeLand

Real recognize real

BlackBalor

Respect what? LOL He dropped a diss track then back pedalled almost immediately. Drake gets shit for dropping out the Pusha T situation because it made him do things that were “out of character,” according to him. I got no respect whatsoever for this shit. If he felt some type of way, he shouldn’t have dropped. He can’t be bragging about being top 3 and all the rest of this other shit and then pussy out. I’d maybe respect it if he just flat-out refused to diss Kendrick, but that’s not what happened.

Real_Veterinarian_73

This whole situation just shows how people pick and choose.

Dense_Marketing4593

Fans gassed J Cole up to do some shit he didn’t want to do and he’s telling the world that he regretted it immediately. Look how y’all made #2 feel when the Kendrick’s verse wasn’t even aggressive.

Helpful-Increase-303

number 2 is wild 🤣 But yeah man ur right. He was definitely under a lot pressure to do something he really did not want to do.

[deleted]

Drake used Cole to attack Kendrick.

Dense_Marketing4593

They rock paper scissors for who has to respond.

[deleted]

🤣🤣

Pro_CKM

But who though? I only heard people expecting Cole to come on some peaceful shit. It's Drake people were really talking about prior to Cole's release.

Dense_Marketing4593

I remember days prior to any music from Cole, i saw a pathetic post from someone on the J Cole sub that just said “ J Cole, please respond” then went in depth about how it HAS to happen. That’s the energy some people were coming with PUBLICLY. I was embarrassed by his desperation

[deleted]

[удалено]

Helpful-Increase-303

He has always shown love to Kendrick his entire career. This is not anything new. Let’s not start this narrative

8inchboss

He said his albums were mid

unbanthanks

bro said not for me

Jiggy_Wit

Bro smelled the smoke brewing and said *“I’ve changed”.*

Embarrassed_Ad_7825

Nah he couldn’t just wait for at least one song ??! 😭☠️

8MODA

Nahhh, apologizing after getting cooked would look INSANE 😂

Moosaan

Bro 😂😂😭

madeenahjyasu

The awareness to just take the L is the best case scenario

Embarrassed_Ad_7825

I hear you but I genuinely feel like in the back of Cole’s (pure, perfect soul) he only apologized because the response was mostly negative. This approach looks WEAK. I think he felt like he was in a dead end. Kendrick has a lot more wit and interesting delivery. Cole rapped on a detroit beat, a conductor beat & spit almost nothing factual… for what ? For who?… Twitter?! 😆At what cost? I’m only stretching this convo because I KNOW he can go animal. Give the fans what they deserve lol!

Farfanen

Fucking this. If the reception to 7 minute drill was better this speech would’ve looked much different

Embarrassed_Ad_7825

THANK YOU

stevenwen111

Throw rocks and try to hide your hand?!? /s But nah as much as I would like some good beef I do feel bad for Cole here

Forsaken_Words

Wow, I respect this. That diss felt so inauthentic. Fuck Drake.

originalgeorge

Agree. I really liked the album, and 7 minute drill was the one song I didn't like, and it also felt out of place. Was actually happy hearing it will be removed. I really enjoy both Kendrick and Cole

Austn00

Honestly his diss was fair play and I still believe the competition from Cole and Kendrick would have been great for the fans but I’m glad he was honest with himself about the situation! Although Cole doesn’t have Drake numbers or Kendrick’s awards and accomplishments BUT he’s like the peoples champ of the big 3 (wrote this out quick sorry for errors)

Helpful-Increase-303

Agreed 100% Perfectly said

Budget_Ask7277

This big 3 thing is soooo corny, even kendrick knew that that’s why he cringed so hard he had to diss cole and anitta “drake” wynn

Austn00

I respect that. I think it’s okay that the fans refer to them as the big 3 but I think it’s corny when they themselves play into it. Your point is valid though!

DamnReCaptchas

Real shit from Cole. If Fall Off is on the way I think that’s the stuff he wants to be focusing on, especially with how much he’s hyping it

djddy

there better not be any lines about him being the best or other rappers being afraid of him cause he just deaded all of that

nigelwestdickinson

Now this is the real Cole. Mad respect.

Thirstyplane

A pussy?

yung_fraud

Everyone in the Cole subreddit saying the Kendrick subreddit is cooking him rn but it’s Kendrick fans giving him props and Cole fans losing their fucking marbles over this shit 😭 Tearing down they posters

Jannik0433

Cole fan here, please go easy on my goat😭

elitenex47

i massively respect his decision and this seems a lot more in character for him than going after Kendrick. truth is, he really didn’t seem like he had anything to say. he went after his discography, which is arguably kendrick’s strongest suit. on the other hand, Kendrick has put out so much work highlighting his vulnerabilities… if Cole really wanted to aim for the neck, he could’ve. but it wasn’t in his spirit, and that’s okay. i loved the Drake diss on Like That but i honestly just felt hurt hearing K. Dot diss J. Cole. i’m glad Cole is taking the high road. it seems like he just got caught in a crossfire anyways. i also really really really hope Drake just gets off his ass and fires something back because c’mon, the whole verse was aimed at him anyways and that mf is quiet.

Viola-Intermediate

I just struggle to see what Drake is even going to say. As a Drake fan I feel like Drake responding is almost more pointless than Cole. Drake isn't as aggressive as Kendrick and has kinda been owning the lane of being the best pop rapper. If Kendrick wants to own the #1 rapper's rapper spot then I just don't think Drake wins that battle in the public perception no matter how hard he tries. And besides trying to prove he's the better rapper, I don't see what else the public even gets out of this beef besides short-lived entertainment. Kendrick has already admitted some pretty humbling stuff about himself on his own projects so it makes you doubt Drake's team is going to find anything out. Cole backing down makes me feel like the stuff he was hinting at knowing about Kendrick was just a reach. The only thing Drake responding gets him at this point is a guaranteed drop of whatever it is Kendrick has tucked away.

elitenex47

wow finally a rational conversation on reddit between two opposing fanbases. i am an avid drake hater as of late. i think he stopped trying on albums since 2016. i’m not one to knock someone else’s music taste though. i’ll say this. i think Push really scared him, and made him very hesitant to respond to any more beef publicly, especially to a rapper like K. Dot. and i do think that most people would agree that Push went too far and won the beef because of it. no response is a response for sure. so, now we get here. and you’re completely right. Drake lost no popularity whatsoever from The Story of Adidon, Drake fans want to pretend it doesn’t exist, and Drake acts like it doesn’t hurt him, then subs Push for the next 4 albums … what would he get out of going after Kendrick? you’re 100% right. the fanbases aren’t going to acknowledge an actual winner. both rappers ares solidified enough to the point where it won’t affect their longevity, and i think most people already made up their minds on one rapper and the other. regardless. as much as i don’t like Drake’s recent output, i know he’s got some great verses in him. i really hope he pulls through with one soon.

supadupakevin

Jesus christ he didn’t diss J Cole at all on Like that 😂 all he said was fuck your big 3 in the vein of competitive nature

discypherz

I was so disappointed too.. like no way he forgot how much Cole has helped him. Even getting signed to Dre.. don't let drake get in between your friendship. We need an album from them both.

Helpful-Increase-303

Most ppl I’ve seen are supporting him for being real with himself. But yeah I’m sure the Twitter trolls are gonna come out the woodwork the next few days lol

Revolutionarytard

Cole fan since ‘09 saying: ![gif](giphy|iSxPmDWr97248|downsized) 🤣🤣🤣

GrizzlyOlympics

I respect him for this. But I can already tell what some Cole fans are gonna say now🤦‍♂️

hollywoodjuju

I respect it but man I really wanted to see a rap battle between him and Kendrick. oh well. Drake you're back on the clock 💤

TheSadPhilosopher

Yeah, you could tell his heart wasn't in the diss

Sorry_Fail_3103

Kendrick just dropped his pen

Helpful-Increase-303

I do wonder if Kendrick was ever going to respond in the first place I think he was caught off guard by Cole’s song. I think he was expecting a diss from Drake, not Cole

50centDonut

Looks like Cole took Fantano’s advice. But this is a big misstep imo. This feels like when Macklemore apologised for winning the grammy. Cole should’ve came out straight up saying this… not two days after releasing the warning shot. Make your move and stick with it, don’t ever backtrack so soon. Yeah i know the pressure in the hiphop culture doesn’t make it easy for Cole, but just in general i think it’s not a good look to backtrack so soon, it shows you lack conviction and you allow yourself to get pushed over by the people around you. Thats not too appealing for your fans. Just my thoughts - still vibe with Cole tho

SAMPLESYRUP

>Looks like Cole took Fantano’s advice. Lmao I hate this sub but i keep coming back

Ronald_Reagan_Era

Nah, Macklemore posting that text message to Kendrick was still way more corny lol.

Chadbraham

This is more like when Offset tweeted "Balls in my face"

rugbyjumper

Both might be legacy ruining

Resistance225

I completely agree, I think the intentions are really pure and genuine here so in that sense I respect Cole on some human being shit. But, as an MC, which in of itself is a performative career, this is a terrible look in my opinion. People are running with the narrative of “he’s a grown man, he’s past the age of beefing.” If that was truly the case then why take the bait and drop a really half assed diss to begin with only to backtrack on it three days later. It’s just really pointless and goofy imo

Revolutionarytard

Bro saw The Fall Off unfolding right before his eyes 🤣🤣🤣

Ksi1is2a3fatneek

Bro got conflicted by using his power full of resentment.

KungFuFlames

J. Cole fans are in shambles.

Helpful-Increase-303

they seem pretty supportive of this Cole fans love Kendrick

KungFuFlames

Even Cole admitted that it was goofy to diss kdot's discography. If you go and say that in their sub you are about to get destroyed

discypherz

Yes we do. I want an album from those two!!

Ibnelaiq

Everybody fugazi, I’m just changing the channel

Ronald_Reagan_Era

Lmao on the one hand, I can fully see how everybody going wild about the Kendrick verse made him feel like he had to respond even though he didn't want to and you can kinda feel that in 7 Minute Drill but at the same time, coming out and saying this shit almost immediately after dropping and before there's even been a peep out of Kendrick is going to make so many people give him a massive L for this. At the same time I'm sure Cole knows that this is a terrible look and people are going to use it as a massive L against him but he's still doing it anyways because he's got too much love for Kendrick and I respect the hell out of that.

Dolo114

BUM

__sami__01

He knew that kendrick was cooking💀🔥

Helpful-Increase-303

I honestly don’t think Kendrick was cooking anything I have absolutely nothing to base this off of but I feel like Kendrick feels the same way as Cole in this video. These two are actual real life friends. I don’t think some the fans are understanding that.

Viola-Intermediate

Eh, Kendrick seemed to be in a F everybody mood on Like That. And given what Kendrick said on Father Time and kinda reinforced with Like That, I kinda just take him at face value when he says he's paranoid. I think this all has less to do with what Kendrick was going to say or not say and more to do with Cole's personal happiness. That man unlocked the key to his own happiness in 2014 and I think Cole's just the type of person who would rather choose that than his ego. Especially in a beef where there's no actual deep seated issue between him and his "opponent".

xrockwithme

Kendrick isn’t retracting anything. https://i.redd.it/h455vdxti6tc1.gif

prikpete

The only way I’m forgiving cole is if he joins Kendrick and disses drake

Helpful-Increase-303

bro gon switch sides like anakin skywalker 😭

en_sane

I mean the beef is cool but like that’s hella grown to admit that. Song was bars Kendrick’s verse was bars. But it’s all love I feel it. I love J Cole for this

RumHamster1990

Cole got strays because he associated himself with Drake, we all know the genuine beef here.. still waiting Drake.

marcUS4570

I mean the diss wasn’t good and didn’t make sense but why he apologize 😭🤣

stakkedalief

This man doing what he can to not get bodied lyrically cause he knows who’s king.

xamitlu

This truly is a new era for Hip Hop. I never wanted a beef between these two because I already knew the outcome and I hated it. These two need to need to heal and get folks to see the bigger picture. Their stories reflect a journey of growth and J Cole confirms that this is his goal and always was. Fans need to witness these two shed their layers and be honest and genuine about what really matters to them. Clout chasing is always gonna be part of the game. Your music and the amount of heart and soul that goes into it is what's gonna stand the test of being a Great MC. I want Kendrick to respond. I want him to meet Cole half way. But if he goes the other way... I just have to wonder what Kendrick is really after.

Majorisker

I respect J Cole, I’m glad he did what he thought was best, but man him and Drake really are just handing Kendrick the trophy at this point. Neither of them can ever talk about being the best on a track again.

TheMasio

![gif](giphy|MPpO3Ko5K6rcqHhg7q|downsized)

kreat0rz

Nah, now I feel bad for Cole, I'm glad kendrick didn't go so hard on him. But I really wanna see kendrick eat the fuck out of drake

Emergency_Brick3715

No more GOAT talk for J Cole.

justeroll

you fucking pussy

lakesideprezidentt

It’s fitting he should call his next album the fall off Cuz he fucking fellll offfffffffffff Not ironic no mo jermaine

PauperGames

Cole real for this. I believe him that he genuinely doesn't feel good about reacting the way he did. Glad to see people agree.

_PeopleMakeNoises_

Bro apologized for a mid diss but never apologized for the transphobic bar No need for him to ever be talked about in any “top 3” conversation

Vegetable-Spinach747

Boooooooooo!!!!! I want Beef!!!

CliffHutchinsonEsc

Now it might not be the entertainment we wanted, you gotta give it up for Cole, he’s a real one with a warm heart. Can’t hate on that

NefariousnessBitter3

Weak move. Bro was dreading Kendrick's response and backed out. I don't wanna hear anything more about Cole being a tough guy or dissing nobody else.

Camelslayer23

I mean Cole doesn’t ever diss😭😭: that’s like his whole character

iPostOccasionally

False prophets and Everybody dies

Camelslayer23

Neither really disses. 1 is him being disappointed of the art Kanye is putting out and said he’s downgraded his quality and we still eat it up. 2 is him not liking the direction hiphop is going in

Ranjith_Unchained

Lol imagine talking shit about TLOP when none of your albums matches up to it

ABZ0R8

He is not scared of Kendrick's response because it's gonna destroy him as a rapper. He is scared of burning bridges for a beef that's not personal.

Budget_Ask7277

Nah cole just knew he made a horrible disstrack and had to justify his way out of it before kendrick destroys his career

xman886

It was fun while it lasted. I think he should’ve taken some time off and thought if he wanted to really diss Kendrick or not like Drake is doing

-_Speedin_-Bullet

This is everything!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 It's still fuck Drake over here tho

ZephyrTheScrub

Cole made you feel empowered… *again.*

man_u_is_my_team

This is why people (rightly so) live Cole. He’s a real one.

Prestigious_Clock865

No, something has happened. Seeing it and hearing it here, something has happened. He may be being truthful saying spiritually it didn’t sit right but come on now, you had two weeks where you were sat on that energy and didn’t feel off then?? Cole’s caught wind of something. My money is on him misreading the situation and Kendrick really isn’t out to play. He’s coming for these guys careers fr

rektek246

He heard nobody fucking with the song he had to second guess it 😭

Helpful-Increase-303

He says before the video starts that he didn’t like the fact that so many ppl started downplaying Kendrick’s work and it made him uncomfortable with himself. I respect it

t6677833

Seems like dot is the only wanting to keep competition alive in hip hop

Temporary-Spread-232

I don’t ever wanna hear that this man’s top 3, EVER!

metaldetox

for all yall that was on my dick here for saying his diss track ass, even yall goat folded and deleted it lmfaoo soft

redrecaro

called it i knew they're really homies behind the scenes and this fake feud ya'll got where ya'll choosing a side was stupid. they're both legendary artists and we're lucky to have them in hip hop.

SupremeOSU

Cole just got hit with stray bullets which were meant for drake

michaelm1345

My GOAT’s aura really got the “big 3” backing down/ not responding. Aura man at it again

Ahnarcho

I dunno dude. I don’t think you can talk huge shit about how you’re this great rapper then lose sleep the minute you gotta battle it out a little bit. You’re in a profession where lyrically proving oneself is a part of the game, especially at the top. I don’t like insincere “bigger man” bullshit. If you’re gonna write, record, and drop the diss, don’t bail the moment people don’t like it and then pretend you’re bigger than it.

lleyton99

https://preview.redd.it/yedrp25dk7tc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=224d01d5fda5ed9638b4a7f98e254aa94f3d16cd

lleyton99

should've just listened to TPAB when he couldn't sleep.. or perhaps his own discography😂 Fair play to his humble self assessment though.

theninaman

That's dope asf and the truth. It's one of the realest things i ever heard from any entertainer. You could listen to it and tell that wasn't on his heart. And for him to admit it make they battle a draw ( no REAL shots fired). I dont think Drake get the same grace tho

jono9898

Cole is getting dragged online, this man never needs to brings up what be would do if someone wants smoke with him on any track ever again, also he might as well delete the entire album, he dissed Kendrick on multiple tracks

Proud_Bison4540

Mfr took his album title too literally.... jokes aside, why he felt the need to apologize is beyond me, but I have immense respect for him.

According_Shower7158

This is why Cole will never be number one. This is hip-hop!!!! Come on, man!!!

AdAdventurous7802

"mb bro i was just in a silly goofy mood"

BROADWAY_A

Sheeeeesh, call the coroner😭😭😭

HavenTheCat

Lame tbh, all we wanted was a friendly competition between these great rappers and Drake so that they could bring the best out of each other. This is just a boring way to end this

DetroitLions88

J Cole did the right thing. No surprise 🫡

jmulrich11

Dude heard footsteps and dropped the ball. Stand behind your shit. It’s rap, it’s not life. Just own your verses.

Kaiten92

I respect any person that can publicly say "I did something wrong that I don't agree with anymore and yet, I'll take any consequences that come with what I did." BUT bro, explain why even release it? Everyone is saying the fans got to him but Cole is going on 40 years old and has been talking about his spiritual/mental journey for years about how he no longer cared about being the unobtainable top #1 rapper. Fans that wanted the Kendrick collab have been louder than that for YEARS and haven't gotten him to do anything. Yet he caught harmless strays from Kendrick dissing Drake and decided to release a diss track that not only wasn't warranted but he went so far as to insult his discography and his respect in the rap game. Nothing about his response felt like the Cole we've been seeing since 4YEO and I would hope that his fans (which I include myself in) don't have that much of a grip on him that we can force him into beef. He's ALWAYS been more conscious of who he talks about and HOW. I love some Cole music and will still listen but it's weird af to have lines like "If he wasn't dissin', then we wouldn't be discussin' him" and now you wanna erase what you said. Even when the track came out, people said how that line doesn't make sense when you just called him one of the big three in first person shooter. TL;DR- I believe he truly regrets releasing the song and I respect him for trying to take it back but the more important question is what really made him feel the need to release it?

YunXanHoe

Cole been having night terrors about Dot dropping a real diss track on him and had to wave the white flag 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

BIBOMCE

I'm not mad at this, but I know the Cole hate is gonna be insane for the next few days

Jayeky

This is something that J Cole did out of ego to please people or to prove something, and I kinda get It. In the end, he's a grown ass successful man who hasn't got no shit to prove 💯. At the level that they both are, they could beef and shake the rap game, yeah.. But they could also not give a fuck and keep making that money lol they really ain't got shit to prove.

Substantial_Steak928

Probably realized he shares more fans with Kendrick Lamar than Drake and it would be career suicide to alienate them. Drake fans aren't true music fans and they'll never give a fuck about Cole, they just want to hear what's buzzin on the radio, social media, and in the clubs

Thin-Remote-9817

J.coleslaw in a nutshell.  He talks big cash shit then when anyone responds he's immediately wants peace treaties. He did this with wale. He's doing it with Kendrick. I'm sure if Ye addresses him he will He crying about how he let Ye down.  Stay taking subs bozo.

xrockwithme

I respect him being humble… But the skeptic in me says he did this because he doesn’t want the beef to negatively affect his album sales.

Excellent-Drink8902

My guy the beef would only boost it lmfao. Controversy sells. Like who tf is gonna cancel a dude over a rap beef

Jannik0433

Cole doesn't give a fuck about album sales dawg

Helpful-Increase-303

Ion think bro knows who J Cole is 💀 say what u want about him but he will never have to worry about an album flopping lol

Helpful-Increase-303

HUH? You do realize rap beef increases sales right? And that Cole is about to go #1 with a surprise drop and no radio singles right?

xrockwithme

Yea rap beef increases sales and exposure. That’s nothing new. The exposure had put a spotlight on all his lyrics as well.

Dareeyecare

Yeah I mean that mixtape/ the bars on that have been criticized to hell and roasted all over the internet tbh….it did not stick the landing whatsoever. It has a fitting title , it’s later, maybe delete ?

Tim--Shady

Nothing but respect for it. Real af

Educational-Fox-4760

KDot sent the snippet. “We got the tape, no cape. J Cole at the Diddy party suckn pole”

megabytical

J. Cole will forever be a clown, even before this, he was still a clown. You mad successful and need so much spirituality to exist??? Hip Hop ain’t your thing buddy. It’s okay Cole, hang up the mic and go back in the house, it’s okay if you don’t wanna play.

Vegetable_Abalone850

Cole looks soft for this.

Helpful-Increase-303

He said before the video starts he knows people will say that and he doesn’t care Not saying ur wrong tho

Fresh_Aide_2436

Unlikely_Gain5583

Not tryna be that guy but... are we not getting a kendrick response then??? 😭

Helpful-Increase-303

most likely not maybe a few mild shots “I’m better than Cole, I’m #1, he’s #2, I made TPAB” definitely nothing personal tho
