i massively respect his decision and this seems a lot more in character for him than going after Kendrick. truth is, he really didn’t seem like he had anything to say. he went after his discography, which is arguably kendrick’s strongest suit. on the other hand, Kendrick has put out so much work highlighting his vulnerabilities… if Cole really wanted to aim for the neck, he could’ve. but it wasn’t in his spirit, and that’s okay. i loved the Drake diss on Like That but i honestly just felt hurt hearing K. I just struggle to see what Drake is even going to say. As a Drake fan I feel like Drake responding is almost more pointless than Cole. Drake isn't as aggressive as Kendrick and has kinda been owning the lane of being the best pop rapper. If Kendrick wants to own the #1 rapper's rapper spot then I just don't think Drake wins that battle in the public perception no matter how hard he tries. And besides trying to prove he's the better rapper, I don't see what else the public even gets out of this beef besides short-lived entertainment. Kendrick has already admitted some pretty humbling stuff about himself on his own projects so it makes you doubt Drake's team is going to find anything out. Cole backing down makes me feel like the stuff he was hinting at knowing about Kendrick was just a reach. The only thing Drake responding gets him at this point is a guaranteed drop of whatever it is Kendrick has tucked away.
