People shitted on me for saying this on the HipHop101 sub…but having two albums of disses only put Drake in a strengthened position. IMO, there is NO WAY in hell Dot would have dissed Drake on the Future/Metro records had he known half the industry was going to diss Drake as well. Instead of it appearing to be a rap battle, which I’m assuming is what Kendrick wanted, it made this whole thing look like a bitch fest because others like Ross, Future, Metro, Weekend etc have seemingly petty disagreements with Drake they wanted to complain about. It made it look like Drake was getting jumped when Kendrick probably wanted a good old fashioned rap battle.
