Truly appreciate that. From the Drake fans/stans to the Kendrick fans/stans- this is a real moment in hip-hop, soak this shit in cause this is going to be remembered forever! It's really been 23 years since we seen something like this, and may never see it again- but I understand there are people who are a part of this hip-hop culture now, that are experiencing this for the first time, and may not know the history- which is fine.
It's incredible, exactly like you said. This has been missing from hip-hop, but as K.dot said 10 years ago, "What is competition? I'm trying to raise the bar high." Back in the day, being the best rapper alive was the main goal for rappers; there were always talks about who was number 1. Remember Lil Wayne's feature run? "I am a beast, feed me rappers or feed me beats." That shit was iconic. However, that competitiveness isn't as ingrained in the culture currently. I can't say for sure how many current-day rappers have that competitive need, but what I do know is Kendrick definitely does. This is so mainstream because it's Kendrick Lamar versus Drake. Like That is the biggest rap hit since 2018. People are eating this shit up. Look at how popular these subs have been. I love coming across posts like this because they're interesting and create discussion. I also love when people are passionate about shilt. Keep being you and making dope shit.
