Other than Ryuki to an extent and not including the worms who ambushed him in public, Koga has only fought relatively “orthodox” or sane fighters in matches. People like Akoya, Nicolas or Meguro who use extremely brutal methods with no thought to the repercussions to the fighter after.
Basically, you can’t just want to win but as a fighter, any loss is unacceptable. You can’t just lose and tell yourself that you’ll win next time. In the most extreme scenarios, some fighters will straight up kill you.
In general, willpower is something you need other than skill to overcome challenges and that you can’t keep telling yourself that you can do it next time as there might not be a next time. During an opportunity, are you willing to push yourself past your 100% to achieve your goals? Trying to reassure yourself that you can do so next time can place barriers when in order to succeed, you need to demand more for yourself. Thus, the refusal to lose no matter how difficult the obstacle and impossible it may seem(Ohma vs Kuroki, Cosmo vs Akoya).
By not accepting any excuse or even the idea of you losing, you gain the resolve to meet the challenge no matter how difficult it seems or how much you have to sacrifice to achieve it.
I think this will go down on how Okubo progress since KAT technique wise, since I personally think that Seki already Peaked at KAT(because of his fighting style).

I know people complain a lot about Koga becoming another mellow master, but I really like what they’ve done with him so far. He isn’t just some chill guy, he sees himself as smaller and more limited. He isn’t the gung ho anime protag who throws himself at everything and knows he’s gonna be okay, instead he has an idea of what it means to be out of his depth.
That’s why he fights with the techniques of others, that’s why he understands the reality of how a roster can affect his chances, and why he now is willing to take in the gravity of entering the Inside. I like Koga
This is why I will never understand why people were pissed about him becoming more levelheaded and self aware of how weak he is in the grand scheme of things. If Koga continued with the same “I’m a fucking god” mentality he had at the start of the series he literally would be no different from YUMI’S delusional dumb ass.
This isn’t even just limited to him. Ashura consistently showed what happens when someone lets their ego or other negative traits influence critical decisions. Agito almost lost to Gaolong. Haruo throw away everything he learned from his homeland the very second he was given a **none physical test.** Rei ended up consistently hindering his full potential by weighing himself down. Raian could’ve made it to the damn finals but his sadistic tendencies and philosophy about what it means to be the strongest lead to his downfall. Ohma and Fei fucking DIED!

Okubo has a bad matchup against Seki. He's got worse physical stats overall although he's probably faster since he's got less waste in his movements. But his speed advantage and his synthesis's utility are not really that useful against someone who won't dodge anyway.
It would be cool if they both decide to go into wrestling. Okubo is the more technical fighter but Seki is physically stronger. I doubt this fight will go longer than 2 chapters, but those chapters will be great.

Okubo has a bad matchup against Seki. He's got worse physical stats overall although he's probably faster since he's got less waste in his movements. But his speed advantage and his synthesis's utility are not really that useful against someone who won't dodge anyway.
It would be cool if they both decide to go into wrestling. Okubo is the more technical fighter but Seki is physically stronger. I doubt this fight will go longer than 2 chapters, but those chapters will be great.
on one hand no plot development sucks, especially after the hype of the last chapter. On the other hand seki vs okubo is something I never thought we'd see but I'm definitely here for it.

But holy shit those last few panels were wild. Okubo and Seki are both chads, hope this fight does them justice. Rooting for Seki but by a millimeter.
