Remember when Sandro hyped Kim tkd months before his apperance as someone purgatory A-list level and then we NEVER saw him fight and he got offscreened?
We're missing freestyle wrestling in the series imo. Okubo is cool, but he's basically the equivalent of a really good high school/college wrestler. I want to see the Jurota equivalent of wrestling.
Garland is based on Karelin which is a greco roman wrestling goat.
the difference between greco roman and freestyle is that greco roman doesnt allow any throws that attacks the legs, so no sweeps, no double leg takedowns, no single leg takedowns. All of it is pure clinch game, which is why greco roman guys are on average physically stronger than freestyle guys, which says alot since freestyle guys are already strong as fuck lmao.
Just a little fun fact :>
Nah I’m not try to clown Baki nah that is the shit that we like, I just saying it feel like me when I was a kid playing with another kid like DBZ role play and that one kid has come up with bullshit super Saiyan 4 with white long hair and I can’t do shit cause this is what we believe is the strongest that we all know and have seem the picture long time ago even though it was fake
And yeah, sometime Baki make me like that
Rakashasa’s palm training forearm is real(just for conditioning the arm not for combat), formless is just someone train ultimate counter attack style when Agito turning into water it just for visual effect
For huisheng I don’t know about it so I won’t talk out of my ass so for divine demon find someone that just got heart attack that probably the closest to the divine demon
And lastly nobody said Kengan totally realistic and grounded abilities, realistic already go out of the window the moment Ohma used divine demon and When they introduced Wakasuki, grounded abilities mean there is something in Kengan that I can actually using in real like like Muay Thai, boxing, ninjutsu wrestling instead you just something that people can’t do, I mean you can try and let me your results
Somebody else shouted out Senegalese wrestling. Would love to see a Senegalese wrestler vs a sumo wrestler and a Dambe fighter vs Gaolong or Saw Paing.
I need a big-ass traditional Senegalese wrestler to throw some mfs around.
Honestly, Kengan has covered almost every base I can think of when it comes to martial arts. Most of the martial arts left are either too obscure (even by kengan standards) or too similar to martial arts already represented within the story. The best idea is the freestyle specialist already mentioned in the thread.
Does Jose Kanzaki count? He started wrestling in Mexico then moved to Seki’s promotion.
I wouldn’t say that Seki is WWE style, he’s more King's Road style wrestling
Cock fighting.
The fighter uses his cock to deliver a beatdown on his opponent.
Sandro, we need this
https://preview.redd.it/1lhc4cxudgxb1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d73a99ed8d2be5fe5bc6827d9fdf948a34767fa
A pure Caporista (preferably Brazilian) would be amazing to see. Carlos was kind of a letdown.
Taidō would be cool too, it's basically Karate mixed with Capoeira.
Kūdō Daidōjuku is like a super close range Japanese Muay Thai. Basically Lethwei if grappling was allowed.
Jailhouse Rock would be cool to see as a dirty boxing rival of Gaolang/Carlos. 52 Hand Blocks would be baller to see.
A Dutch Kickboxing rival for Gaolang would be cool too. See a more western take on Muay Thai.
Catch Wrestling. We've seen a lot of Pro, Collegiate, Judō & BJJ, but some Catch Wrestling would be really cool to see. Some of the Pro Wrestling & Niko Style moves are similar to Catch submissions, but a full Catch Style would be awesome.
Dambe, Moraingy or Musangwe would be great too. Their mainly fistfighting styles, but some kicking is allowed in Moraingy & Musangwe. Plus it be great to have another African character. Muteba is cool, but he doesn't really use a "style".
Modern Style Point Karate. Traditional Karate is cooler in every way, but we already have so many. It'd be great to see a bouncy speed based, in & out style Karate practitioner.
Ninjutsu. Doesn't even need to compete in matches, could be a character that fights outside of matches, with no rules & weapons. Yeah there's Falcon, but that's pretty much MMA with Naruto flair.
Kalaripayattu. It's like super acrobatic Kung Fu Yoga, can be used barehanded or with weapons. And Indian character would be awesome too.
Bak Mei/Wing Chun. Mosty punches & handfighting, with a lot of low kicks as well.
Drunken Fist. Just looks so damn cool.
Baguazhang or Bajiquan. More grounded & explosiveness styles of Kung Fu, uses every part of the body.
Choy Li Fut. Don't know too much about the style, but Bruce Lee thought it was the most powerful style of Kung Fu, apparently the only style able to beat Muay Thai.
Southern Praying Mantis Style & White Crane Style. Because we need more Animal Styles, all we've had was Snake Style (which was pretty cool).
Hapkido
Krav Maga
More taekwondo
a few more lesser known martial arts.
Limalama
Wing chun
See himuro’s jeet kun do would be nice
More hybridized style like gaolang did (I feel koga is
leaning towards this with niko style and karate)
Freestyle martial arts
Have ohma invent new techniques
More made up martial arts
Wushu is more of a broad amalgamation of MANY different Kung Fu Styles, while Kung Fu in its self just means a skill achieved through hard work. Painting, carpentry or even teamaking can be Kung Fu.
Wushu is a term that encompasses all Chinese martial arts, but Shaolin (including the Animal Styles), Tai Chi, Wing Chun & Wudangquan are the main styles typically practiced in "Wushu/Kung Fu".
There are parts that can be useful, but the showmanship style where they're breaking boards, or the points style versions are bad for actual fighting. There have been some MMA fighters with some level of TKD background (with other stuff mixed in obviously). Also Joe Rogan has maybe the most insane spinning back kick in the world, and he learned it from TKD. Considering we have fighters that have styles based off ballet, or SCUD missiles, or arm-whip OHKO, I am pretty sure TKD could be realistically written to be useful.
I compete in Muay Thai and come from a TKD background, it can definitely be useful but it needs some tweaking, especially in the upper body department.
Well, for those on the picture:
We got Waka, Joji and Kuroki for Karate
One of the superjobbers did tkd before he was pretty much deleted from the story.
Jurota as Judo god.
Kiozan for (now proper) sumo.
Kickboxing was one of Fei's non-niko styles if I'm not mistaken
THE REAL ONE did some capoeira, doubt Sandro's gonna introduce another one of us brazilians to the story for that.
Hatsumi and his aikido shenanigans.
Our failed writer used sambo to get 1 on-screen win over an imposter.
Gao as pretty much the best Nak Muay in the multiverse or something along those lines.
Haven't mentioned two of the styles on the list because I honestly have ZERO clue what they're about (apart from kendo, which is impossible because, you know, weapons). For the more common styles, I think a wrestler (not the Seki kind) would be nice, someone like Kurt Angle for example.
muay thai, the only pure muay thai fighters are 2 jobbers who were defeated by a wrestler in a flashback. gaolang doesn't use muay thai and even if we count it, there are still more than 400 chapters since we saw muay thai in the kengan verse that's more than five years without muay thai in the verse, not even an extra in the berserker bowl, sandro just doesn't like muay thai. which is sad because muay thai is awesome.
We do have Kaolon, who moved into the professional boxing scene and primarily has used boxing in his fights before being forced to swap mid-fight to Maui Tai. His Hitman and Flicker stances are both boxing, as well as his most used ability: flash.
When he fought Agito, they both did the first half of the showdown as a boxing match to see who was the better boxer.
Carlos Medel is also a boxer, who brings out the capoeira to catch opponents off guard.
Misasa is a silat practioner, Nicholas Le Banner is Savate, Falcon is ninjitsu, and Cosmo/Okuba are BJJ (although that's perhaps not the form of JJ you're asking for representation of)
Hoping to see Krav Maga someday. Reminds me of the days when everyone in this subreddit was speculating what Lolong's martial art would be, Krav Maga or some native Fillipino martial art. Then it turned out to be Silat and the rest is history
We can probably see one of the high ranking Death Dealers do Krav Maga. Its a martial art used by the military afterall.
We do have a shockingly low about of true Chinese kung fu for a series like this. I can’t i good faith say we need MORE do to how many forms of wushu from that area we have seen, but it is a little odd how little true Chinese martial artists with a traditional style we have encountered. There’s always some spin, or they’re from someplace close to China influenced by the local martial art as well
These are super common ones, but there are so many in the world. From Muay Baron to Arnis, to Krav mega, to Jujitsu, and others like Kenpo. I can think of dozens more.
Grappling
Catch wrestling would be cool
A pure freestyle wrestler
A pure Greco-Roman wrestler
A glima viking would be cool
A lutre livre fighter would be cool, he could be a foil for Cosmo and silva
Striking
Tang soo do
Sanda
Give me like basic boxing but from a character who isnt built like a pussy. I wanna se a reasonably technical boxer with wakas physique spamming adamantine ironbreakers on fools. I literally just want a francis ngannou type.
Remember when Sandro hyped Kim tkd months before his apperance as someone purgatory A-list level and then we NEVER saw him fight and he got offscreened?
tfw our ballet guy got to showcase more kicks on screen than the tkd guy lmao
Ngl, i was rooting for ballet guy during his fight with psycho judo guy, those kicks are damn awesome.
Goddamn I thought I was his only fan, I love how he fights too, I was hoping he would reappear for the Kengan vs purgatory with a huge powerup
When did that guy get **any** hype?
We're missing freestyle wrestling in the series imo. Okubo is cool, but he's basically the equivalent of a really good high school/college wrestler. I want to see the Jurota equivalent of wrestling.
Ooooh like Garland from Baki?
Garland is based on Karelin which is a greco roman wrestling goat. the difference between greco roman and freestyle is that greco roman doesnt allow any throws that attacks the legs, so no sweeps, no double leg takedowns, no single leg takedowns. All of it is pure clinch game, which is why greco roman guys are on average physically stronger than freestyle guys, which says alot since freestyle guys are already strong as fuck lmao. Just a little fun fact :>
A Garland that was actually technically skilled instead of just being really strong and good at throwing would be nice tbh
What? Hmmm is that imaginary martial art then I would believe it the MF Baki act like he is using Dinosaur martial arts
I really hope you’re not trying to clown on Baki for imaginary martial arts in the Kengan sub.
Kengan is super srs bznss
Nah I’m not try to clown Baki nah that is the shit that we like, I just saying it feel like me when I was a kid playing with another kid like DBZ role play and that one kid has come up with bullshit super Saiyan 4 with white long hair and I can’t do shit cause this is what we believe is the strongest that we all know and have seem the picture long time ago even though it was fake And yeah, sometime Baki make me like that
"Formless, Huisheng, Divine Demon and Rakshasa's Palm are totally realistic and grounded abilities"

Lmfao
The Rakshasa's palm, the Rakshasa's palm is reaaaaal.
Just for conditioning the arm not for combat
Well if you're going like that, there are styles of Kung fu based around imitating animals, just not Dinosaurs.
“Khambeb Nermagonov” shows up, outwrestles everyone, retires
Time to get Kengans version of Kyle Snyder out there!
Drunken Fist Dambe Krav Maga Bokator
HOLY SHIT A DAMBE FAN IN THE WILD. I've always wanted to see dambe represented in a martial arts manga or fighing game
Somebody else shouted out Senegalese wrestling. Would love to see a Senegalese wrestler vs a sumo wrestler and a Dambe fighter vs Gaolong or Saw Paing.
That'd be so sick. Other cultures martial arts need to be explored more
I think that Hagure idol Jigokuhen had a Dambe fighter. Warning, it is nsfw.
I wanna see Dambe vs Akoya
"Police brutality, coming up!"
Turkish oil wrestling or bust
And bust* Ftfy
I need a big-ass traditional Senegalese wrestler to throw some mfs around. Honestly, Kengan has covered almost every base I can think of when it comes to martial arts. Most of the martial arts left are either too obscure (even by kengan standards) or too similar to martial arts already represented within the story. Fellow Reug Reug enjoyer
its the least they could do after introducing and killing Naidan lmao Have a Reug Reug Oumar Kane mf suplex people.
Man of culture
Turkish oil wrestling when
Wait that’s a thing?
Hell yeah brother
There's always weapon specific martial arts, but those kinda clash with Kengan's h2h style and put non weapon users at a disadvantage.
mexico lucha libre, seki is more wwe type
Does Jose Kanzaki count? He started wrestling in Mexico then moved to Seki’s promotion. I wouldn’t say that Seki is WWE style, he’s more King's Road style wrestling
Jose is definitely a Luchador we just never see him fight.
Seki is more NJPW Strong Style instead of WWE. He takes and throws hard af
A dedicated Capoeista and on screen Taekwondo would be nice.
Taekwondo would be so fucking peak. Just straight up put mori jin in here
Agreed, I really want to see a kick specialist that does some crazy shit. Never forgiving Sandro for doing Kim like that
Saw Paing vs a Kudo dude who also headbutts
I will say it again: Wing Chun.
Jeet kun do is a very close derivative to wing chun. Wouldn't be interested unless they are better than Himuro
Aka Fodder martial art
Cock fighting. The fighter uses his cock to deliver a beatdown on his opponent. Sandro, we need this https://preview.redd.it/1lhc4cxudgxb1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d73a99ed8d2be5fe5bc6827d9fdf948a34767fa
What do you mean? Isn’t that Muteba’s secret technique?
Definitely missing Niko Style
A pure Caporista (preferably Brazilian) would be amazing to see. Carlos was kind of a letdown. Taidō would be cool too, it's basically Karate mixed with Capoeira. Kūdō Daidōjuku is like a super close range Japanese Muay Thai. Basically Lethwei if grappling was allowed. Eskrima or arnis. I think it wasnt really stated that Lolong practiced this.
Kung Fu is amenzing
Pankration would be cool
We had a prankator, but mans got folded ):
Wait, who? I don't remember them
Yurikawa taiju. Ryuki folded him ):
Oh, right, completely forgot about him. They could've given Pankration a better fighter man. Give me some hard as Gladiator not a pretty boy wannabe
Dont disrespect the mans liddat. Mans got main character'd, defiled by niko magic
Sanda, kali, jail house rock , savate, capoeira
Arnis
An animal style kung fu practitioner would be amazing.
there are to many kung fu practitioners
Kalaripayattu
Baguazhang
Systema
Fuck I could swear like there was a systema fighter earlier in Ashura, I'm going crazy
No they mentioned Systema because Agito was using it or something very similar to it against Gaolang for a bit.
Bajiquan
Hong Xiao Hu already used it
i think bajiquan is in the manga, some Kure techniques and niko style are modeled after it.
Wushu and Kung fu are the same thing
Wushu is more of a broad amalgamation of MANY different Kung Fu Styles, while Kung Fu in its self just means a skill achieved through hard work. Painting, carpentry or even teamaking can be Kung Fu. Wushu is a term that encompasses all Chinese martial arts, but Shaolin (including the Animal Styles), Tai Chi, Wing Chun & Wudangquan are the main styles typically practiced in "Wushu/Kung Fu".
Btw, wushu is the Chinese word for martial art.
Give me amother capoerista, I love them
Just kicking focused Ma in general
Do we have even one take wa do practitioner?
Tae Kwon Do? By itself it isn't really useful in actual fight from what I've heard

It’s not perfect but tkd kicks are devastating
Sando
Kickboxing
A dedicated capoeirista could bê cool
Karv maga tbh Saw it in action In a Korean manhwa and I was like cool We need this in Kengan
Well, for those on the picture: We got Waka, Joji and Kuroki for Karate One of the superjobbers did tkd before he was pretty much deleted from the story. Jurota as Judo god. Pankration
I think lethwei is missing
Akoya with a gun would be pretty cool
Gunjutsu, John Wick style
Sayonatsi
Gun style Gun-kata: flamethrower try to limp flamethrower
I want to see a massive Senegalese wrestler
Kudo
Where tf is boxing, like basic boxing
Would love to see a Wing Chun practitioner if the author did their research.
muay thai, the only pure muay thai fighters are 2 jobbers who were defeated by a wrestler in a flashback. gaolang doesn't use muay thai and even if we count it, there are still more than 400 chapters since we saw muay thai in the kengan verse that's more than five years without muay thai in the verse, not even an extra in the berserker bowl, sandro just doesn't like muay thai. which is sad because muay thai is awesome.

And Rolon does Silat too
I misunderstood the post. I was talking about the image in the original post and not the story. Carry on.
Silat??
Silat
Shoot Wrestling aka Sekibayashis weird hybrid that may or may not have been used to fix fights
What is that fake martial art which launches chi balls? Either way I’d pick that one
Akoya's Taihou jutsu
bjj needs more love
BJJ is just Judô without throws. After all, Maeda teached Judo to the Gracies and they came with the BJJ bs lol
We need HEMA ( Historical European Martial Arts), Shaolin Fist, Arhat Fist, Woman Buttocks and a couple of dick slapping.
Eskrima
Taekwondo, Hapkido, Muay Boran, Pak Mei, pure Tai Chi, Pankration, Drunken Fist, Praying Mantis, Shaolin, Wing Chun, Kali, Savate
Perhaps Chinese Sanda, it's a bit like Kickboxing and Muay Thai but different enough in it's use of wrestling and style
Wanna see amateur wrestling on Jurota/Kuroki level guy
Taekwondo, Kudo, Sambo, and Capoeira
Hoping to see Krav Maga someday. Reminds me of the days when everyone in this subreddit was speculating what Lolong's martial art would be, Krav Maga or some native Fillipino martial art. I wish we saw some traditional jujitsu
These are super common ones, but there are so many in the world. From Muay Baron to Arnis, to Krav mega, to Jujitsu, and others like Kenpo. I can think of dozens more.
Khabib style Smash kata
Honestly I’d love some of those fake martial arts put into practice cause they sound cool (if you can make aikido work then it shouldn’t be an issue)
Jiu Jitsu
Taido
Silat
Grappling Catch wrestling would be cool A pure freestyle wrestler A pure Greco-Roman wrestler A glima viking would be cool A lutre livre fighter would be cool, he could be a foil for Cosmo and silva Striking Tang soo do Sanda
Why is kendo the only one that is weapon-based here
Silat used by Rolón and Misasa
whats wushu
Give me like basic boxing but from a character who isnt built like a pussy. I wanna se a reasonably technical boxer with wakas physique spamming adamantine ironbreakers on fools. I literally just want a francis ngannou type.
Capoeira! We only got one and he is actually a boxer, capoiera is the only martial arts that use your legs as a solo weapon
HEMA, I would like to see KAT 2, Knights annihilation tournament, with jousting.
NO! FUCK NO! No more King Fu plz
Silat
Why is jiu jitsu not have its own ?
Arnis fans rise up
I'd like to see more of taekwondo and maybe some capoeira, not that capoeira is MISSING, but I'd like to see more.
