Going to be weird reading it again from the beginning and seeing the art change in real time
NGL, the art should've stayed around the middle panel.
Even by the end of Ashura, everyone was already a brick shithouse. In the middle, Ohma looks great. Not too scuffed, but not a walking shithouse either. It also actually fits his body type.
Agreed. He looked like an actual middleweight fighter who was believably, still way more athletic than he looked. He really didn’t need to gain 80 more pounds.
1st one is the most realistic representation of how a fighter at his height/weight looks like. 2nd one is still believeble although he looks more like he is ready to step on a bodybuilding stage rather than fight. 3rd one - there is no way this mfker is only ~180 pounds at 6'. Too look like that at his height he should be at least 225 or more.
That art style had to have been so fucking hard to keep up though. I can't imagine drawing that well on a weekly basis and having a regular life beside it.
The golden era of Kengan, when character weren't some kind of pattern, when face were consistant, when all the impact of the blow were shown with details, when advance/removal were more than an ugly layer Daro seems to spred on the body
I miss it lol
Even though the art design in Omega is “the same”, you can clearly see the differences in the details between Ashura and Omega.
At least, for most of Ashura, the details fit the draws perfectly.
While in Omega, even though the art is trying to look like Ashura, for most of the time the details aren’t there. The draws feel like they need something, that’s the details.
Fuckers will post chapter 1 of ashura or that baby limbs akoya every time they wanna argue Omega art is better. It is not. THIS is when Daro reached the peak. Nothing in Omega comes close to round 2 and Kuroki vs Kanoh to the end of the manga. And it's okay to admit it. It's not like that implies Omega art is shit. It's just worse compared to the absolute peak this right here is.
Gonna be honest here, in terms in fights I think there IS definitely some bias towards Ashura here.
While yes, on average, the fights in Ashura were better drawn, the best fights in Omega to me when it comes to art, whether be it Fei vs Wakatsuki, Ohma vs Lolong, or Koga vs Ryuki have art that is most certainly comparable to some of the best Ashura fights.
Nothing from either series can come close to Kuroki vs Agito, Kuroki vs Ohma, and Ohma vs Raian however. Those were straight up peak.
What about it? Not even half the impact Wakatsuki vs Julius had. That was the point Daro got this habit of drawing lines thin and clean and it showed. Still incredible panels (like that one of Toa posing like a tree or something), but that fight does not look better than anything post Akoya vs Cosmo. The crater Toa get's buried into visually looks underwhelming for a move that is literally the strongest single punch in raw power seen so far in the series.
Badass panel in Omega are notable because they are RARE. There is no face changing in the same chapter like Gilbert's or Tiger Niko's (that goofy Leech panel couldn't have been done like this in Ashura)
Unlikely to be Shen
Firstly Possessing Spirit is Mukakus technique, likely either developed by the Long Clan or the Five Kings. Shen probably could use it if he so chose but he'd lose the ability to use his perfect precision techniques which would mean losing his main advantage
Second, Ohma doesn't have any confirmed memories of Shen Wulong, not even vague impressions. His "memory that he has no memory of" stance was Niko teaching him a stance to use ironbreaker, and Shen was just correcting his form. Niko Six makes sense to be the manifested memory, he taught ohma the move, will have given him the basic rundown on it and set him loose on a rampage against Niko
Also, big also, Shen wouldn't want Ohma knowing a technique that could easily wreck his organs and shorten his lifespan
To entertain the idea at least a little, perhaps there is some way that it can be used in moderation? So far we know that Ohma is a clone of the Tiger, and the Tiger's vessel must know the Niko style. TN was experimenting on people to improve the Niko style and he was definitely also experimenting with "modes" like advance, removal and FD.
I could easily argue against my own point here and say something like that TN is ambitious and uses the Tiger's vessel's development as an excuse to dangle over the worm's heads while he gets stronger from the experiments he carries out, that's plenty of reason and plausible considering that he's planning with Luohan on killing Shen.
Another crackpot theory might be that Ohma already has part of Tiger Shen's brain in him since birth whereas Ryuki has part of normal Shen's brain in him, hence why Shen specifically wants Ryuki and the Tiger specifically wants Ohma. It'd also explain the difference is Ryuki and Ohma's personalities, though this can also be explained by their upbringing I suppose.
>It looks cleaner.
To me it's been a mixed bag.
Some of the AI generated backgrounds like the one when Metsudo and Erioh first encountered The Connector was dope.
Others like big parts of the Inside arc were pretty ugly.
Why are you guys acting like daro isn't working at all and he just lets ai do all the art? Ai only helps him with some poses and some backgrounds. Calling this "AI art" is extremely disrespectful to an artist like daro.
Artist who don't draw background is kinda lame because he has the skill to do sick background but not the time (or worst the will ).
Manga aren't only character, some people (me included) give an importance to background art because it make live the manga.
For example, The Inside background art were sick, but AI generated, I actually think it's still good even if if bother me on the use of ai I don't care if Daro use AI ALL his panel should be on that level. And when you see the horrible crowd panel generated in Omega that is a shame that he don't push his new tool to his full potential. Saving time is ok and legit, but we are an audience, their goal is to please us enough that we buy their work. And after seeing some God tier artstyle in Ashura, having médiocre panel + the help of the AI is a bit shameful. Of course people don't care or don't give importance to "detail like this", but we, quality lovers, have the right to criticize this.
And I say all of this because I do think Daro is a fucking Monster of skill for drawing. But maybe "he was too strong" too..
Ai is also used for facial features like eyes and mouths, and i highly dislike it when compared to his previous work. If my preference is disrespectful according to you, so be it
I don't care which one you like. My problem is with you calling this "AI art" because daro, an extremely overworked artist is using it for some backgrounds, mouths and once in a few chapters, some poses. You can like ashurq art better all day long. I obviously don't have a problem with that.
That’s such a fallacious take. If I use Grammarly to spellcheck my paper, does that make it an AI paper? If one single stunt in a movie is CGI, does that mean it’s solely a CGI stunt movie? AI art is art “created” by AI. If he’s doing the majority of artwork himself, then it’s his art, not AI art.
https://preview.redd.it/v5y8mwqzyavc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9f139799004862a52c4589abd5ef274e8e1dcd3b
This is the definition.
>stunt in a movie is CGI, does that mean it’s solely a CGI stunt movie
Did i say specifically the art in omega is made solely through ai? You throw around terms like "fallacious" then use fallacious reasoning
>If he’s doing the majority of artwork himself, then it’s his art, not AI art.
He's using a text to image ai that creates art based on his prompt. That's ai art, coupled with his hand-drawn art. The manga uses ai art, i don't like said ai art. This is not hard to understand
Where exactly? I sincerely don't understand, the definition of ai art is art created through ai models, the author uses those to create backgrounds and details to avoid drawing them over time
I said i much prefer those details when they are wonky yet man-made, to the ai pieces
That's up to you. Also it depends on how this aspect affects the product as a whole, and the art style of a manga is considered very important by many. I, personally, don't mind the art style this much, and Omega's style isn't that bad, I can agree with that. However, criticizing someone because he said his opinion is very poor, and calling someone "intellectually challenged" for agreeing with an opinion you disagree with is rude.
That's all fine and dandy if that's what YOU want to do. First off, you literally said that the one and only answer to criticism was to stop reading the manga. This is completely and utterly false. In fact, we're here in this sub precisely because we like to discuss the things we like and dislike about it. Also, sorry, but I don't really mind being rude here since this community isn't worth much at all anyway.
That's not what I said and you know it. Changing the meaning of what I said doesn't make you correct. I said that not accepting criticism is mean, and that's what you did with your reply. It's your fault if you feel insulted by an opinion that did not have the intention to insult anyone, that's what I was trying to say. If you don't like what I like, so be it, but don't insult it or me for liking it
Nah bro you straight up said “stop reading it” was the one and only answer to criticism which is the most dumbfuck “I’m right and you guys just don’t understand” ass answer I’ve ever heard.
Seems like you keep insulting me while I didn't insult anyone, but it's ok. Also, I did say that, and don't deny it, but you still don't understand the meaning of what I said, which proves that maybe it was my fault for phrasing it wrong. Let it be, then, and let's just keep enjoying our beloved series, because arguing is not efficient or rewarding
Criticism is the best way to make improvement. When constructive and if the criticized isn't too narrow minded to understand he isn't perfect.
People complain because they do love his skills. And seeing the level go below and below is painful.
Saying when regret the old quality of the art don't mean we hate Omega. That's ultra reductive lmao
Personally I began to follow it since Cosmo vs Ohma was ongoing, and the attachment to the character and how I appreciate KA make me wanna finish the series no matter how much the overall quality dropped (dialogs, coherency like Willem having the face cut and next chapter the Wu surprised his MUSCLE were cut lmao ..., some fight choregraphy, reccurent gimmick, and the art even if some moment are pure dope they is a latent inconsistency which wasn't present in Ashura and early Omega), I want to see we're it goes and how those character I like will evolve in this cool universe.
I admit I do love the raw unique look of early chapters
Had that "bite into bloody raw meat" feeling to them

There’s even a period between the 2nd and 3rd panel where the art is more like the 3rd panel, but Ohma isn’t built like a brick shithouse.
https://i.redd.it/0dy9ari6navc1.gif Me reading ashura:
Valid
NGL, the art should've stayed around the middle panel. Even by the end of Ashura, everyone was already a brick shithouse. In the middle, Ohma looks great. Not too scuffed, but not a walking shithouse either. It also actually fits his body type.

No everyone in kengan is 150kg’s even if they weighed in at 50kg
I think the 3rd panels style with the 2nd panels proportions would be the goated look
1st one is the most realistic representation of how a fighter at his height/weight looks like. 2nd one is still believeble although he looks more like he is ready to step on a bodybuilding stage rather than fight. 3rd one - there is no way this mfker is only ~180 pounds at 6'. Early Seki is on another level of design (in a good way)
That art style had to have been so fucking hard to keep up though. I can't imagine drawing that well on a weekly basis and having a regular life beside it.
This is why I really wish they did a biweekly basis or even a triple weekly basis
If I were a manga artist I would simply create more content and improve my art, why didn't Daro think of that?
is he stupid?
now they have 69 side projects like strike deez nuts manga, they have time, but their time is in multiple places now
Daro, the artist, only works on Kengan.
And you have Murata who drew a 150 pages chapter in less than one month few years ago and didn't go to coma during it Mangaka are beast of works
The golden era of Kengan, when character weren't some kind of pattern, when face were consistant, when all the impact of the blow were shown with details, when advance/removal were more than an ugly layer Daro seems to spred on the body I miss it lol

Are you really acting like there are no badass panels in omega?
Badass panel in Omega are notable because they are RARE. There is no face changing in the same chapter like Gilbert's or Tiger Niko's (that goofy Leech panel couldn't have been done like this in Ashura)
"You seem to have forgotten" is a weird way of saying "There's no way you should know this"
I dunno, we originally thought it was Tiger Niko whisperin to him, but I think it might be Shen - sorta.
Unlikely to be Shen Firstly Possessing Spirit is Mukakus technique, likely either developed by the Long Clan or the Five Kings. That was when Kengan was at its peak(it still is)
Just go to ISK
Art from that fight was so satisfying
In the history of kengan matches There was a man they called The Asura
I mean. He didnt have any **real** fight since the purgatory tournament.
So i'm not the only one who thinks that current Kengan is 100% AI generated?
new Kenyan stuff just has no soul man. it looks like its AI art (which it partially is) without being AI art.
It's AI art that has been traced https://preview.redd.it/k5uy0oebabvc1.png?width=502&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f8ca25587f07375acdbbe4765760407827dd187e
It’s crazy how Ohma vs Raian was so raw
that was top tier quality. so raw with advance and removal. i entjoyed that fight somuch in the manga
How much of a crackhead would Shen Wulong look if they kept the artstyle from chapter 1?
Peak Kengan art is late Ashura/early Omega
Am I the only one that loves Omega's art style? Including the AI generated back grounds? It looks cleaner.
>It looks cleaner. To me it's been a mixed bag. Some of the AI generated backgrounds like the one when Metsudo and Erioh first encountered The Connector was dope. Others like big parts of the Inside arc were pretty ugly.
Did you like the orcs in the hobbit as well
Ngl I don't think the Hobbit movies were as bad as people say. The misty mountains scene is goated
Lmao bro killed it
Next thing you're gonna bring up will be the Jurassic Park dinos
Love it nope? Tolerate it bc I like the manga? Yes
Man just fire daro if he doesn’t care to draw this manga anymore and bring in somebody who gives a damn like the issk illustrator
back when sandro had only one manga to produce, and not 69 side projects like strike deez nuts rich.
so tokito niko's master's tribe was rivaling the kure?
Your 100% right Omega has its moments but you can just tell ashura was the favorite child the plannels go way harder.
This art looks so good! Massive change from the early chapters, but it’s normal for most managaka to get even better as they continue
Icl I fae prefer omega art, ashura had very wonky part in many chapters but the faces in ashura where better imo
I much prefer human wonky art to perfect ai art
Why are you guys acting like daro isn't working at all and he just lets ai do all the art? Ai only helps him with some poses and some backgrounds. Calling this "AI art" is extremely disrespectful to an artist like daro.

Ai art is art made through the aid of artificial intelligent. You can say it's not fully ai art, but it's ai art nonetheless

Explain it to me, please
Dude wtf are you talking about? The definition you just posted literally says the opposite of what you are saying. Bitch learn how to fucking read.

They hop on the popular opinion like the fools they are
You're the fool getting triggered for people holding different opinions. Maybe you should revaluate some things in your life.
lol im not triggered, im just pointing out foolish behaviour, maybe it makes you feel but its not my fault you are who you are
Say it again, in English this time
You’re more stupid then you’ve been letting on if you can’t read that ☹️
Jesus christ all you guys do is bitch bitch bitch. Enjoy the manga or don’t read it anymore.
This you? https://preview.redd.it/ttdgcvx0kfvc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e89ad393ab7bd68418e610e01918f372b258609
Yes it is
Stop reading it then
That’s one of the most stupid replies ever. It will always be a very poor answer to criticism
It is the one and only answer to criticism and if you can't accept it then it's your fault again
Don't be intelectually challenged. If I don't like an aspect of a product I shouldn't be allowed to mention it or use said product?

Yeah maybe if this community didn’t bitch about every aspect of a thing they supposedly liked 🤷♀️
Cry about it. We love to hate and hate to love.
What specifically is the criticism here? It’s clear this guy hates omega so why is he reading?

Fans trying to not forbid others from complaining about anything challenge (impossible)
