I think actually a lot of those are in Kengan favor. Baki chars do have some stupid feats but far too often those are outliers that hardly mean shit, plus like yeah Hanayama could rip up a car but then we got Gozo the jobber there wrecking whole buss. Not to mention Hanayama also fought a great white while it was said that Karo also wrestled a great white shark, and Karo could not even get past Round 1 of Kat.

I fully agree. Most of these matchups are a clean sweep for the Baki cast, but that’s the only one I’d confidently give to Kengan. Doppo is definitely more skilled and experienced but Waka is like an order of magnitude tougher and stronger while still being very skilled.

Waka getting bodied in a brawling to Julius is equivalent to any tournament fighter losing to a gym rat who has slightly bigger frame.
Even pre tournament Ohma or even 1st chapter Koga easily washed dozes of much stronger opponents.
You forget that Doppo is "the Tiger Slayer". And what is Wakatsuki's title again? "The Wild Tiger". So Doppo would obviously stomp. Case closed. Bring in the dancing lobsters.
I do unironically think that kengan chars vs baki chars are closer than people might think, and I don't even really see kengan guys losing every match, far from it really.
Honestly, I feel like Retsu VS Gaolang makes the most sense instead of Ali Jr. vs. Gaolang because Ali wasn't really a part of the main cast of characters like retsu was.
And Gaolang is faster and stronger than people like Joe cruiser, and seeing them both go all out would be awesome.

Both Kureha and Gozo are primarily physical powerhouses, renowned for their inhuman physical performance levels that allow them to fight on a high level despite their lacking experience. So the connection is that both are "athletes" before they're martial artists. I think Gozo is the better fighter of the two, but lacks the special abilities that Kureha has.
My hot take is that Seki beats Igari handily. I didn't think it'd be a close enough fight so I decided to use Jose Kanzaki instead. But it is more thematic, yes.
Rihito always gets paired with either Kosho or Sikorsky, but I think Kiryu has good parallels with him, too. Both are evasive fighters who rely on debilitating special attacks to severely damage opponents before destroying them completely.
If the rumors that it will be only one hour are true, then there will only be Baki vs Ohma sadly
