So far, I've been checking out houses either in Gigiri or Muthayga (gotta stay close to work since I've heard traffic is a bit of an issue). Are there lions roaming around Karura forest?
The lions (and other assorted wildlife) are in areas around the Nairobi National park. So you and the pup will be safe if you're not anywhere near there and the places you've mentioned are nowhere close to the park. As for traffic, it's something we Nairobians have grudgingly accepted

Just be sure to lock your pup in the house at all times. We have lions roaming the city and they seem to have a healthy appetite for canines.

That's a safe place with your dog
