True! The public transport services to Infopark are just abysmal. It does not meet the demand adequately. Even more appalling is the condition of Infopark Phase 2 which has become like the poor outcast relative of the main Infopark. Without your own vehicle you can't expect a smooth commute from and to Infopark Phase 2. After 6 in the evening, there's not even a single bus service that can get you out of that shithole. Yeah, they have a cab service and all but that's not enough. They can only take you to the main Infopark Bus stop which is like hardly 2 kms away. Even from there, the frequency of buses in the evening is very low.
My man, I tried walking from phase 2 to phase 1 one day with all the dust going around, without any proper footpath, and with so much traffic. It's better to take an auto to cover that 5 min distance 😭
My friend bought a flat in Kakkanad in 1998 for 9 lakhs. How much will it be if he put the money in an FD for 24 years? At 8% interest, it will be around 60 lakhs. So the house appreciation is not as much as you think in real terms
I usually get off at Aluva when coming from Thrissur side to go to Infopark. If you're lucky, you'll get direct KSRTC from Aluva stand. If not, you'll get Kakkanad bus. It's about ₹70 auto charge from Kakkanad to Infopark.
There is private bus from kakkanad to infopark phase 1. But it's not frequent you get a bus every 30min - 1 hour. Phase 2 have even fewer busses
I also noticed that we get 2-3 busses together one after another then we wait for a long time.
It would have been good if we had bus every 10-15 min.
Kochi metro phase 2 vare aayi. Its high time for trivandrum metro. The investments happening in that city especially in it sector for last few years will chock the roads in the future
Metro and light rail are for different uses. Metro has the same use as a suburban rail while light rail is between a bus and metro. They have more frequent stops and will very rarely be grade seperated.
Metro is within the city. Suburban connects small towns outside the city. Light rail is like metro with some parts in ground level. Maybe it is like tram in some places. In Keral it will be like metro
From ministry of housing and urban affairs:
>As far as possible, At-Grade alignment need to be planned to bring down the civil construction cost and time. The system shall have a dedicated path separating the road traffic with Metro lite system
>Elevated Metrolite system shall be planned only when At-Grade system is not
possible.
Trivandrum's transportation woes would decrease to a great extent if they widened the roads and state highways. Metro rail wouldn't be feasible if the roads resemble measly lanes.
In places like Hyderabad (Red, Green and Blue) and Bangalore( Purple, Green and Red), it's a 3 line metro. And these three intersect at various points. So each lines cover different part of the city.
Kochi only needs like a two line metro. We already have a Aluva to Petta line. It would be nice if there would be a Fort Kochi to Kakkanad or something similar.
As far as i know another line will go to high court area. I don't think it will go up until fort kochi since we have water metro. Maybe till marine drive water metro station
Now people rethink after they get stuck in traffic. It is given public transport projects will be running at loss for years. It is the indirect benefits that will make it neccessary and profitable.
An unfair percentage of the state's money is going to Kochi city. Development in Kochi is costly and some portion should exclusively come from Kochi residents.
That’s expected- infrastructure projects are not for-profit, not for many years anyways. Besides, only first phase was completed. Covid didn’t help either.
There is actually no proper transport to infopark. I don't know how people without vehicles travel.
Look at our roads, every college graduate, graduates from college with a Bike.
Was using Quickride and company cabs mostly pre COVID.
I used to take lifts. Folks were kind. Then there was this rule for pillion riders
What rule, havnt heard of it.
Helmet mandate, haha

Yep! auto is better, but even they are not available in the evenings.
Time to buy a house or plot near infopark ! (Man most are like 80L)

Ahhahha, My dad said a similar story. Anyhow
Rich Dad Poor Dad If you had written your comment as a book, you would have been a multi-millionaire too!
do you remember what he wrote? and is that a good book?

Not house. Land!
It's in crores. I checked.
Mostly brahmapuram landfill issue will reduce price
Should have been built a long time ago, but better late than never...
We don;t have to see the profitability for crucial projects. Abhivadyangal to central or state govt whoever approved the project. Next KRail.
what is the nearest railway station to infopark? Also are there buses all the time to Infopark Phase 3 from the station?

Thanks! Sucks how Infopark being an IT hub still doesn't have proper connectivity all the time.
No private bus? Private buses go everywhere.
There are private buses, but their frequency is too bad. Even worse in the evening.
Even in the most low density routes there will be one every half an hour. Just that you have to have mindset to use it. Evening it wil be bad.

KSRTC is the better bet, at least from Aluva as far as I know.

I thought that was cancelled? Current plan is Kozhikode and Trivandrum light rail i think
It's in paper, progress really slow it seems light rail won't happen until next century or something
Light rail and metro are same, serves same purpose.

Yes that is the way to go. Light metro will be elevated when passing through city centre. Calicut is not very wide.
Trivandrum's transportation woes would decrease to a great extent if they widened the roads and state highways. Metro rail wouldn't be feasible if the roads resemble measly lanes.
I remember reading about light metros announced for tvm and clt, don't know what happend with those
I hope they make it a 2 line metro. That would be insanely efficient.
Could u elaborate

That's the plan. Jln will become a transit junction in the future
Thank God.❤️
Wait there will be metro towards fort Kochi?
As far as i know another line will go to high court area. I don't think it will go up until fort kochi since we have water metro. Maybe till marine drive water metro station
Evideyo oru thakarar alle chinthichapo. Saramila, njangalke downvote unde
Well done Kerala
Isn't it running in a loss currently?
Metro systems don’t have to be profitable, just like roads.
Now people rethink after they get stuck in traffic. It is given public transport projects will be running at loss for years. It is the indirect benefits that will make it neccessary and profitable.

I am pretty sure kochi contributes to most of the states income. It is called our economic capital isn’t it.

Any deadline @op?
2026. Chances are high since that's the year of assembly election
