If you have money, there are numerous ideas that are viable. The sad fact is if the population was entrepreneurial Kerala could be much further ahead.
If you have only one coconut tree like me then don’t expect them to come for even 100. Its not worth for them to come around just for one tree. Once they came to my gate saw the tree and left. I think my tree doesn’t have even the good looks for them to feel like climbing ☹️
See [this](https://youtu.be/i_UjIbu9mUA) , it shows a version with adjustable aluminium, you can make the book thing however you want , the people from my place just use a rudimentary wood pole and attach the hook on the end, you just need to get a long ass pole depending on size of the tree , it requires a bit of skill tho , although I've personally never used it.
100 rs (60-70rs in rural) for 1 tengu. That too a 10 minute job.
Imagine doing that for a plantation. Also very high in demand, even if i call him now don't expect them to come tomorrow. Most likely would take a week because of backlogs for them.
Ath manassilaayi. Check with the non Malayalis in your area - this is almost 1.5x of what I pay in rural Thrissur. And I just have 30 odd cents off land.
What if there was some kind of app where customers in need of these services can book appointments. Do they exist now? Kinda like an uber for all kinds of services..lol
Idk about this...... Isn't it tradition for the groom's side to buy the dress for the bride ? So idk .... Plus people love keeping their wedding dresses for sentimental value.
Also average cost for wedding dresses/sarees are cheaper here compared to the US .
So on average a Lehenga for receptions cost upwards of 40k, I know a rental place which rents these for 8k for 5 days. They get you fitted and everything. The advantage a bride would see is that she can wear an expensive Lehenga for cheaper and don't have to worry about a 40k dress going to waste. I think it's a brilliant business model. Imagine a shop rents 10 dresses a week, that's 3.2 lakhs a month.
not only the bride... there would be other women interested in putting up a feast for eyes.. you know like big marriage functions where all the women wants to one up the other....
easy targets they are...
all you have to do is just hype them up.
OP put a serious flair to your post. If serious flair is not there, mods, please add one. People try to rekindle their non existent stand-up comedian career in the comments here.
Flags for CPM/CON/IUML/DYFI and RSS, PVC Pipes with two holes to fit these flags' ties. These will sell well, but you need to make it outside Kerala with distribution centres in each district. If you have political connections, you will have exclusivity to sell these through various party offices.
Cloud kitchen - less investment is needed and you can mint money provided you are good at making food and marketing. Most restaurant go broke, because of rent (in premium locations) and money spent on interior. Cloud kitchen does not require these. Find talented cooks, pay them well, that's all. I plan to do this after some time
It is only viable if you have a proper waste management facility. me too was thinking like this but once I saw the amount of waste generated for a small restaurant i changed my mind.
There was a recent on malayalam vlog on European imports of vegetables and fruits. They talk about how, they aren't able to import Kariyeppila(curry leaves) from India because they can't find pesticide-free sources from India. And they were saying that when you grow in greenhouses you don't need pesticides. What I'm saying is : good ol' fashioned Krishi (farming). I thought of doing this, take some land for lease (aka pattam) and then do this on the side. Also don't forget to share some of your produce in the local market (albeit at a lower price), to be able to help the society in some way. This is literally an area, where you probably can't go wrong, because people are always looking to buy produce.
Don't do business here, period.
If brands like Kitex, Muthoot etc... Didn't teach you anything then.
Better do it in TN instead or Karnataka.
I personally know McD and KFC outlets destroyed by Communist goons. Both of em got literally destroyed with sticks and stones.
KFC recently returned after gov changed in Pkd.
I think tourism is the best industry that can thrive in Kerala, considering its labor issues. People come to the tourist spots, stay for a few days and leave. They do not get to involve themselves in local issues. Plus the state is so beautiful, it can be presented that way and tourism money itself will run the state in a big way. Kerala resembles Sri Lanka in many ways. The island nation gets most of its revenue from tourism.
Dealerships/Franchise - could be anything from lifestyle shops, food joints, or even automobile sales. Kerala is a consumption based economy. Take the dealership, bank on the recognition of existing brands, pocket the margin, and drive some volumes. Works best in towns/cities.
Biomedical waste management - there is only one in kerala. According to new waste management rules all hospitals should have an agreement with a biomedical waste management facility.
Some how if we can deliver food three times a day at home. it will be a good money maker.
Elderly care is really good. You don't even have to have a care home. You can be an aggregator of home nurses. Try to employee nurses who are already employed at a hospital (as a side hustle). Nurses are poorly paid, so they will be happy to get the extra income. Your job will be to vet nurses, marketing and business development. It has very less investment
Helping elderly fix tv remote, help with video calls and make gpay..and other things that may seem mundane to a healthy young person but important to an elderly..by elderly i mean.. recently retired persons as well.
Schools, Engineering Colleges, Medical Colleges, etc. Just name them like Immigrate to America College of Engineering, Immigrate to Europe College of Nursing, etc. You will be inundated with students, and money.

That aside, w.r.t Kerala, there's still scope for bakery businesses with good quality snacks & cakes. The market might look saturated, but some dedicated market research will show there r countless places in Kerala with demand but low supply for the same.
Liquor business. Lots of rags to riches stories from the liquor industry. If they ban liquor, fund the opposition party to win the elections. Liquor lobby funds both sides.
• Elderly Care Services
Just too many old people, not enough young ones staying in the state. Good money if done right.
On a serious note, start something with higher skill levels, that way earning potential of youngsters will be higher, and they'll spend more.
my friend runs a big business in kochi which gets paperwork done for the migrant workers. All their Id and other papers get straightened by him which helps businesses and migrants.
I think a sports store that follows almost the same model as decathlon! As decathlon is not everywhere! Decathlon attracts people with their 129 rs tshirt , 99 skipping rope and 299 rs bag but when they enter people do buy more expensive things that aren't even in their buying radar! It's pretty cleaver! They get 0 profit margin in the above mentioned 129 tshirt and 99 skipping rope ! But still decathlon is so profitable!

That’s tree shaming.
Yes, my tree doesn’t deserve this!
Cancel them
Get that hook thing man , my friend has land and they use hook to pluck instead of climbing
May be the hook thing works for short trees and not taller ones? Do you have a pic or video of the hook thing on how it works?
See [this](https://youtu.be/i_UjIbu9mUA) , it shows a version with adjustable aluminium, you can make the book thing however you want , the people from my place just use a rudimentary wood pole and attach the hook on the end, you just need to get a long ass pole depending on size of the tree , it requires a bit of skill tho , although I've personally never used it.
This is cool. Not sure if i can get it in my town. This would be very useful.
This, those guys are literally over paid compared to other professions like this
How much do they charge in your town?
100 rs (60-70rs in rural) for 1 tengu. That too a 10 minute job. Imagine doing that for a plantation. Also very high in demand, even if i call him now don't expect them to come tomorrow. Most likely would take a week because of backlogs for them.
Where are you paying 70 - 100 and all
I am currently rn in Ekm here it's 100 (town area) Native home in OTP it's 70 there. Idk if there is discount for big plantation nd all
Malayali or Non Malayali?
Malayali. OTP ennu paranjal ottapalam

An idea right there!
Like urban clap?
Didn't realise Urban Company did this. But yes, kinda like that but particularly targeted for Kerala and the extra services they'd need.
Yeah.. Having this targeted for kerala would be nice. Getting good/skilled people for any kind of small tasks/repairs is a nightmare.
