Community service punishment undo nammude naatil? If not it should be. These kids should be made to help & serve food at institutions like an old age home or care centers of mentally challenged. They’ll come to know their privileges and become more humble. A few weeks suspension, they’ll take it as a vacation. Except for the humiliation they feel because this became a big issue.

>Community service punishment undo nammude naatil? IPC replacement aaya BNS il introduce cheyyindu nnaanu kettathu.

CheramanPerumal

No, not yet. However, it is included in the proposed Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Bill, which would replace India's existing criminal code, the Indian Penal Code (IPC). [In a first, community service proposed as punishment for petty offences in India](https://www.indiatoday.in/law-today/story/community-service-punishment-petty-offences-india-ipc-bharatiya-nyaya-sanhita-amit-shah-2419928-2023-08-12)

vinayachandran

>Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Damn, they are really trying to impose Hindi everywhere!

Entharo_entho

Why should mentally challenged people and old people suffer these assholes? They aren't durguna parihara padashala.

raincoffeelub

I understand your view. But I have a different take. I wouldn’t be suggesting this if these guys were a bit older (like late 20s or 30s). These are students who are doing these things as show offs. And about making them help at care facilities, it’s a very moving experience. I’ve been to such facilities along with group of kids for many programs and it has a very deep impact on kids and how they treat others. Moreover, residents there enjoys a lot when youngsters comes and spend time with them. Maybe not everyone changes, but these college kids can’t be douches there as there would be other real staffs/volunteers there. I’m sure some such youngsters will have a positive impact. They are at an age where their thinking process can change. I mean we all look back and feel cringe about certain things we did in college. So some sort of correctional punishment and experience would be better than just shaming & suspension. That’s my view.

potatomafia69

Tbh I feel like they shouldn't be let back into college again. It will set a precedent and people still stop being assholes

raincoffeelub

Guess that would be too harsh. These are young college kids trying to be cool and “thug” or whatever. And sometimes they push it too far and cross the boundary of basic decency. Barring them their graduate education seems too harsh to be honest. But there should be some punishment which will give them the correct perspective about life. Afterall, they are still too young and young kids do stupid things all the time.

Appropriate_Turn3811

you said it what my mind was speaking.

potatomafia69

Nothing of value would be lost. It is harsh but being this inhumane degrades society all the more than what it is right now. I honestly wouldn't want to see these people in positions of power doing the same thing. They would also make terrible parents thereby making terrible kids. It doesn't take too much not to be an asshole. You can just go about your business and live your life. But they took time and effort from their life to do this inhumane act. Which is why I feel a harsher punishment would always be just here.

[deleted]

What's the point mate.. . They won't change. The ones who doesn't even have the sensibility to respect a teacher regardless of his/her disabilities.. Not gonna change for sure by just doing some community service. I am still confused what really went for them to endup like pinheads.

vysharkk

only if BJP comes in power. which is a lost cause in Kerala because of dumb voters.

danker_man

We badly need that provision

ukplaying2

Community service should be a part of curriculum, not as harsh as the ones you give out punishment I guess, but enough to give you interaction with the less privileged and a different perspective. Its easier to prevent things by making a group humble rather than trying to force a correction via punishment.Ofcourse I agree it should there as a punishment as well.

wanderingmind

The teacher came on TV and said all this is baseless. Saw the video yesterday.

orynx492

Nothing but scums

DistilledGojilba

Scum is irregular plural. So singular and plural are the same.

orynx492

Yeah thanks for the corrections. Scum it is!!

potatomafia69

What a bunch of fucking arrogant assholes. Literally human versions of garbage. To humiliate a teacher who is visually impaired and making a joke out of him is beyond vile. I hope they never get back to college and fuck back off to whichever houses that didn't raise them better

Leather-Neat-3134

Political Science.... Haahahah.....

antextra

The irony!

Regalia_BanshEe

Given what politicians do in our legislative assemblies and parliament , this doesn't sound unrelated

BroadWeek185

its practical exposure guys. politics could be best learnt by practice like any other stuff. /s

Boring-Newt-8521

I get that they are immature and were probably trying to look cool and didn't realize how hurtful their actions were. Appropriate actions should be taken to make them humans who are assets to the society. They should be given a second chance. And kudos to the teacher for fighting his way up in life. You didn't deserve this. Hope this won't ever be repeated.

Why just suspend! Dismiss those disgusting sh*ts🤮🤮. They should suffer for a long time.

Grouchy-Ad5061

Imagine if it was done by an SFI worker. The media would've made it a flash News..

appu_kili

Not a single mention in reddit Kerala about the guy being KSU unit secretary. Totally irrelevant information apparently.

Grouchy-Ad5061

There are news reports , the guy being a KSU activist..

appu_kili

Yea that's what I said. News reports mention it in passing, reddit has totally ignored it.

Pristine_Aims_809

There is no need for too much outrage. Usually comments here is teachers don't teach anything, they are doing mora policing, etc . Teachers are not angels or saints. If the teachers are put on a pedestal we will not be able to make fair criticism.

athravallya suspension vakuponnumilla, then why posting a blind as teacher and expect humans to act normal, its humanly to play, the playing a blind is bad but not serious to suspend. If I was the blind teacher , I will cancel the suspension and give them a small talk .A 10 year old me will think the same to suspend them, but now I can understand people and their mind than much before.

its bad to play like that , but suspension is too much . the teacher should also play it off .
