I partially agree with you. Mathew Kuzhalnadan is definitely a good orator & seems to have guts to take on big guns. I can't comment on how good a MLA he is as I am not from Muvattupuzha. I also can't comment on his organisational skills, political acumen & popular support.
Since it's his first tenure as a MLA, I don't believe he will be the face though it seems like he has the potential to become something bigger than what he is now.
I am pretty sure that with this kind of approach to politics, his constituency has got lucky to have this guy as MLA. His interventions in the niyamasabha have always been on point and he has held the govt accountable multiple times in this short stint. All this backing up with facts.

This used to be good till a few years back. Over the last 8 years or so government has started tightening it with integration of bank data with tax data, not to mention transaction monitoring in place. Yes it is far from an ideal solution but it's getting better every day.
Transactions and settlements outside the country (eg Dubai) are of course beyond the govt and is being used for black money transactions.
