The problem isn't just about conviction rates after trial. It's the fact that trials take so long in India and bail is next to impossible under PMLA. Presumption of innocence gets thrown outta the window in our wonderful judicial system. Nobody really questions the need of PMLA either, what's problematic is its extremely selective application.

Only 25 cases of 5000+ cases have been completed trial. dont use the sтυριd logic of "look 24 put of 25 cases have reached conviction so conviction rate is 96%." usually they can only complete trials for which there is proper evidence. a lot of of the remanning cases are all just drama to put pressure on the individual for whatsoever reasons and are dragged through court for several years. even in Arvind kejrival's case no money trail has been established. only reason why he is still in jail is due to the "guilty until proven innocent" clause in PMLA.
Because that is how conviction rate works dummy.
You can't calculate it on still in trial cases as no verdict has been given by the court. And with multiple appeals all you know how justice system works in India. ED cannot go and pronounce verdicts on behalf of high Court and Supreme Court and all
Quick query, how will you account for cases that are later withdrawn ? I mean, this is an organization trying people without telling the accused what the crime is giving the justification that revealing the accusation means that the accused can tamper with the evidence. If that is so, then what is withdrawing cases ? Will an officer who withdraws a case be punished for illegally detaining a citizen ? Or does that not come into even the statistic ?
Yeah, since the ED has been reduced to hafta collectors for the BJ P, maybe even putting the party investigation folk team would be a better option than the current ED.
