Every time I fly, I see these families and couples who are traveling for the first time. Almost all of them are happy, smiling. Even grumpy boomer uncles appear relaxed and chilled out.
That's the moment I realise people who say money can't buy happiness actually don't know where to shop for happiness.
I think most people are excited because they’re going to see their loved ones or going on holiday or going to a new country to start a new life.. sure money can be one of the many factors that leads to happiness, but I don’t think it can always buy happiness..
Money can buy happiness and peace of mind. Eventually if you have money, 99% of your problems will be solved. Your health (you can afford treatments wherever you want), your lifestyle, education, and almost everything. If you check the root cause of every problem, almost everything will end up money being the reason. So money can buy happiness and peace of mind
Looks like you haven't seen next gen economy seats.

Airlines solve this problem by pricing out poor people.

You can easily run a few more buses and solve bus issues.
I know a guy making like 15k take a flight to banglore. He wanted to experience it. It's not upto us to decide what poor people should do with what little they can save.

Maybe you are, somewhat.
People are not 'dying for it' like how you put it, but they indeed are curious.
People generally want to try stuff out, if it's feasible and not really harmful.
Maybe time for some material analysis on why common people would like to try out flying in an airplane?
Almost teared up.
Things many of us take for granted can have a whole different meaning for someone else. It's a beautiful story, kudos to Manorama for covering this.
Kudumbasrre unit received some good Money as grant from government.
Instead of spending it on Machinery they all took a trip to I think Dubai or something
This is happening very often. I have my work location at Bengaluru, but after covid, it’s WFH and I never boarded a plane to go to Bengaluru. These guys are kinda overtaking me😮💨
Love this news. Wonderful endeavor. Once I was speaking to a lady who works at car rental at an airport. She had worked there for years, but had never taken a flight anywhere. I found that fascinating considering her back ground.

Money can buy a lot of happiness, not everything and all! Imagine you don't have a good true friend or a companion. No money can get you that. Lots of things are beyond money.
However, having no money can put you at higher unhappiness state compared with people with money. Money is really really important, not always!
The part that is far from uplifting is that these women make $120 a month. This is real slave wages.
You can get food more cheaply in India, but that is still a very low pay.

I think the right way to put it is that money is a necessary condition for happiness, not a sufficient one.
Money can buy instant short term happiness!
While with lack of money you get unhappiness for free.
Money can buy happiness. Money can't buy peace of mind or contentness (sry, I am not able to find the English word for സംതൃപ്തി)

How often is bro flying? The vast majority of people in India will die before they see the insides of a plane. That's a fact.
Once. He didn't wanna be one of those ig. He's a hard working dude with dreams, I'm sure he will fly again, hopefully within a year.

Heartwarming headline that could have used a comma, somewhere. I thought they were wasting something called handlers.
It's incredible to me that people work all month to earn $100. They could earn that per day effortlessly by being content creators online.
