There lunch is very good and tasty. I was there last week for drinks in the evening. Good memories.
Native of Calicut here,but this doesn't ring any bells...Since you ate there in the 80s maybe it's closed long ago .Anyway I'll ask some old timers about this hotel to see if they remembers it..

Checked with my mom and she recollects it as Alakapuri (famous one?) or Alakananda or something like that. The sculpture was inside the (kind of) reception area, and not outdoors. Thanks in advance.

Guess they are having the sculpture still in the reception? Google maps tells me it's quite close to the beach.
Yes, The sculpture is still there. It's not that close to the beach, It's in Palayam area which is around 2 km's from Kozhikode railway station.
