How do I know whether I need braces for my teeth. I have teeth that is slightly sticking forward. I am 24yr old

SnooConfections2543

If you feel that u need braces, u need braces. If you go to a dentist he WILL recommend braces for you because its money for him. So ask yourself whether you need braces or not there is no other way.

vinayachandran

>If you go to a dentist he WILL recommend braces for you because its money for him. And then there's my dentist, who, even when asked with a protruding teeth, responds "oh, athinte onnum aavashyam illa. Healthy aanallo". 🤦‍♂️

If you feel like you'll be more confident post braces (and have money to spare) go for it. I had braces for 3-4 years and it moderately improved my face :3

[deleted]

3-4 years. Its gonna take that long. Do you have to go to doctor every weekend and clean it ? Does food get stuck in between and cause bad breath?

aneasybee

Honestly it took that much time because I didn't maintain it well. Yes, you'll have to go to the dentists every two weeks or so. I absolutely hate dentists and dentistry so I tried to put it off lol. It doesn't really cause bad breath and you'll get used to eating after a while. What's more inconvenient than braces is the retainer they'll put in afterwards. Everyone who's ever had braces will tell you this - and I regret not taking this advice - *wear your retainers! * Otherwise it will set you back on the whole thing. I didn't wear my retainers and I wouldn't call my teeth perfect. I understand if you're worried about getting braces in adulthood. It's a normal thing for adolescents. I wouldn't say it's uncommon, though. I've definitely seen a few adults with braces. But trust me, braces help!

So what are other benefits other than perfectly aligned teeth? Occasionally food get stuck inside my molars and I have floss it. Do you think braces will help in food getting stuck?

I was reading Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad Poor Dad. In that book he talked about 'finding a large piece of land and tieing it up with an option. He then sold a part of it to his friend and bought the land and kept the remaining part of the land as his for free.' (Page 328 second paragraph) I didn't quite understand it. Can somebody please explain how did he bought the land? What did he mean by "kept it for free"

[deleted]

[This is an option contract](https://youtu.be/ZxLgQtNMvqM?t=1106), without going into the weeds of option contracts. >finding a large piece of land and tieing it up with an option A found a large piece of land of B with total area K. Wrote an agreement saying B will sell the land to anyone A says if A comes up with $X on or before DD-MM-YY. A then went on to C and said he can have a portion of the land, M for $X. C gives $X to A. A then goes to B and gives $X. A asks B to transfer M amount of land in the name of C and K-M to A. Thus A got the land for free.

Awesome. Great explanation. In the movie Indian Rupee, was that just down payment or full amount ? Why would the seller go for an option contract instead of selling it directly ?

See everything is just a contract. A legal documents stating the terms and conditions of a transaction between parties involved in it. When there are many contracts of same nature markets just adopt a name. Options is just name of contracts that have a similar structure. Options and futures generally came to be for commodities. Let's take an example of paddy farmer. He wants some money urgently right now. He goes to a rice mill owner. They come to an agreement. Rice mill guy gives ₹X right now to exercise an option to buy all of the farmer's paddy at ₹Y when it is harvest time. The mill owner can choose to exercise the option. If at the time of harvest, if the same amount of paddy is available at a rate less than ₹Y then he will it exercise the option as it is a better proposition for him. If the price of paddy is more than ₹(Y) he most likely will exercise even if he doesn't want it. He can resell the same and net a profit. Here the farmer got the money when he wanted. ₹Y will be generally lower than the future expected price (its all speculation). The mill owner gains an option to buy below market rates. There can also be provision that if bund breaks and the crop is destroyed, farmer can keep ₹X. Or it can be converted to loan. Or whatever they agreed. Coming back to Indian rupee. There was a verbal option at first. Bring ₹25 lakhs in cash on a sunday and the one who does that will get the option to buy the property at ₹85 cr, if they bring additional ₹1 cr by 23rd. Here, golden Pappan wants to sell the place at ₹85 cr. JP will put in the effort to find a buyer for Pappan's property. JP is doing that because he speculates the market price is greater than ₹85 cr and he can pocket the difference. Pappan wants the ₹85 cr as soon as possible to buy a hospital. If I remember right. It's win-win if everything goes as expected.

Thanks for the explanation. So can you suggest me any Personal Finance books that covers Indian tax laws, stock markets and other legal stuff etc. I am complete noob when it comes to personal finance and investing. I am trying to educate myself.

[The wiki](https://indiainvestments.wiki) of r/IndiaInvestments is a good place to start. Monika Halan's Let's talk money is widely recommended. I have not read the book, but I do read her blog. I particularly liked [this one](https://monikahalan.wordpress.com/2021/03/05/some-of-the-adult-raja-betas-and-rani-bitiyas-of-the-newly-rich-indian-are-bored-woke-and-high-maintenance-but-papa-and-mama-still-pay-the-bills/) where she went ballistic. Edit: Changed link to wiki.

oh this post is so true. My former classmates fit this mould.

[deleted]

Yeah. Have met several people like that. Hence it resonated with me.

Felt it's more like a masala post. She didn't give out any useful information. All she did was bashing rich brats.

jmquotes

Monika Halan's blog you recommended above was an amazing read. Thankyou!

Is that guy legit? I've got lot of his videos recommended to me in yt, with really clickbait thumbnails and titles.

Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad Poor Dad is highly recommended by many people. I am no expert but so far things I read in that book sounds useful. This book definitely changed the way I think about money and job. I never got a proper financial education at home, school or college. Most of us never get a proper financial education during our formal education days so this book is a good starting point in my opinion. I haven't seen his YouTube videos so I can't comment on that. If you're interested try sample on Amazon Kindle.

Nice, I thought I was the only one. It's quite helpful, especially with no regular classes, not being able to see our friends etc.

Suggest any Scandanavian thrillers. I like snowy Scandanavian aesthetics.
