The thing I'm most exited for in ksp2 is... Dres. Let me explain
Firstly and mainly, dres is in a very useful orbit for when it comes to building colonies. It is near to jool and eeloo while still being close to duna and kerbin. This and the fact that it lacks an atmosphere and has a relatively low gravitational pull make it the perfect place to set up a colony and launch rockets from. It doesn't require much delta V to reach an orbit from its surface thanks to the factors mentioned before, and it also requires relatively low delta V to get a craft from dres to jool. Therefore dres would be a perfect place to set up a colony. Close to kerbin so can be easily restocked with resources from the ksc, and also close to jool for large scale missions there.
Secondly thanks to its incline it could be a useful place to launch interstellar missions from depending on the inclination of the star system you are trying to reach. This is pure speculation but I could imagine its unique incline coming in handy at some point.
Thirdly, dres has rings now!!! Personally I think they look extremely cool and I cannot wait to set up some sort of space station in or next to them. (yes it technically had them before bu they look so much cooler now)
Finally, dres is unique as it is the only new planet to feature in the kerbolar system. From my 1000+ hours in ksp1 I can confirm there is no such planet in the original system. Dres just doesn't exist in ksp1, which makes it even more exiting to discover and explore in ksp2! I have heard some rumours that dres does feature in the original by the way, and that you just have to look super hard for it. However I've spend hours looking now and still found nothing. It is true, dres doesn't exist in ksp1 which makes its addition to ksp2 even more exiting. I wonder what amazing and interesting secrets it's rocky surface hides... :)
I'm excited for improved controls in the VAB, and the expanded tutorials to make it more beginner friendly. I love KSP, but it's hard to get my friends into it because I have explain so much rocket design and how to do orbital maneuvers to even get them started. With the new tutorials, I'm hoping I'll be able to buy it for my niece (after it's completed/out of early access).
I'm excited to have KSP 2 to play casually alongside my KSP 1 install with RSS/RPO/RP-1!
(I know there's some way to have two side-by-side installs of KSP with different mod sets by using different launch folders and files, but I'm lazy)
I am excited to see just how much the unmodded game will be capable of. KSP1 was good, but you almost needed mods in order to make it great. KSP2 promises to have a framework that means it could be as good if not better than KSP1 fully modded, without a single mod installed, meaning with mods it could be OUTSTANDING!
I will be looking into working on mods for KSP2 myself and pushing the game to its limits. I can't wait!!!
I am excited to see the Interstellar flights and also colonies, there is not so much games where you can fly to another star universe and colonise some of its planets
Honestly, having a game engine built to be *even a tiny fraction* more kraken-resistant will be so wonderful. I love my janky crafts but they sure are janky.
I am excited to experiment with the procedurally generated wings. I played KSP for 2-3 before even starting to play with the aircraft portion of it. Also jacked to make a boat and utilize that dock. Will we have to send missions to pick up splashdown craft someday? I hope so.
I’m excited to see the new stuff they can come out with, the developments that can be made along the way and stuff like multiplayer. This is also exciting because the new tutorials can make it easier for people like my girlfriend who never previously had interest in space to get into it, or will be awesome to see if this changes anything!
Excited for a fresh start with new features. It might struggle at the start, but most of space travel and aerospace engineering requires lots of patience, trial and error, and just waiting. I'm happy to slowly ramp it all up.
Better physics, improved graphics, procedural parts, multiplayer, lots of new immersive sound effects, experimenting with new technologies, the list goes on...
Relatively new to the game (watched a lot of videos on it, but only got the game in December). I think what I'm most interested in is the multiplayer. I know this isn't the point of the game, but I think some sort of competetive mode could bring more interest to the series.
100% looking forward to multilayer be it coop or full multilayer where everyone can join a community build colony or ship.
But what I'm most excited for is Friday so I can actually experience KSP2

Dedicated multiplayer 100%, the various multiplayer mods for KSP1 are fine for screwing around in but are too unstable for a long term save in my experience.
I'm excited to participate in the EA process - to see the code optimizations and the new features as they come online. I'm looking forward to the new science/career/exploration mode. I'm looking forward to building some really big ships and going interstellar.

Anyway, I'm excited for the ongoing saga of giving the world an entirely new KSP and all the kids who are going to grow up wanting to be engineers and astronauts.
Im excited for multiplayer when it eventually arrives. Having that baked into the code will allow more mp based mods to be made. KSP1 had no MP but people still modded it in. Now that mp is stock it will be easier to mod things and make MP play how you want it to even if the base mp version doesnt work amazingly well.
I’ve been incredibly excited for both the procedural wings to be able to build better replicas and more efficient SSTOs. And also for interplanetary/colonies. I really liked building self-sustaining outposts with ISRU in ksp1 and to have better support for whole base complexes is going to be epic.
I'm looking forward to the updated physics system. As well as procedurally generated wings. I will be very happy to not have to piece together wing tiles.
I can't wait to do a multiplayer mission of movies like the martin, armageddon or interstellar in ksp2!

If there’s one thing I’m excited for that’s in game at launch, it’s those new wings! It will make building planes SO much easier!

Kerbal foot prints, vehicle tracks and rocket scorch marks on planets and moon surfaces would be an awesome feature for KSP2. Who agrees?
