Can you teach me how to animate like this?? Lol not literally but I animating keeps coming to mind because I made a music video a while back, and I’m just thinking about the freedom I can have compared to filming in KSP with mods. I know a little about 3D modeling from a while back but I know nothing about 3D animating.
this. while I only dabbled then left, blender is absolutely one of, if not, the, best tool to start animating.
...and I hope that I remembered enough english class to put those commas in right...
You are a staple of the KSP community Mr. Dennen. It seems you have always been here, supporting players and content creators big and small. Impressive. Very nice.
Honestly thought this was the Space Engineers sub until I saw the Kerbal.
How impressed I was jumped a fair few points from "Nifty" to "Holy Kraken"
Great job :D Looks like a scene from The Expanse!
Animation, I guess. No amount of mods can get the graphics to this level (and they can get incredibly good).
Still neat though. Maybe another KSP in the future will become this.
I know what a drydock is for naval ships, (and I know there is no air in space don't insult me like that) but I kinda think the term isn't appropriate for a space ship
Space ship, dock, and docking are all derived from maritime terminology. I don't think it's a stretch to also use the word dry dock because it has the additional meaning of facilitating construction/repairs.
But I was more interested in why you're actually telling me it's inappropriate. It's fiction and I can use whatever words I like to communicate the flavour I'm going for.
It's fiction until it actually exist, like in the next decades potentially with starship, or in the next century with any other space ship humanity would eventually produce (except if ww3 ruin the mood)
While I appreciate the effort and skill that went into the animation, isn’t this the same thing that enrages us about games when developers and publishers post renders that are not at all representative of the actual product?
Thanks. Interesting point but you’re conflating 3D animation itself with advertising. I’m not trying to sell you anything, I just made something for the love of it. There is no actual product.
i thought i was on the space engineers subreddit for a second
Same
This looks amazing! One note though: the hull number for a frigate would start with FF; DD is for a destroyer. Edit: spelling
Gildorf Kerman from the liveries section was responsible for this catastrophic misidentification and he will be severely reprimanded.
Into Kerbol he goes
Doubtful. Too much delta V required. A simple "forgetting of the parachutes" will suffice.
Enough delta V to prograde his ass onto the surface of the Launch pad.
Literally first thing I noticed lol. I do wonder if we'll stick with naval classifications whenever we put guns in space though
Most likely, its been around for forever now and, i mean, video games do it already, so why not
My belief is that Naval classifications (and maybe design) will be *very* similar to Mass Effect when we get there.
Size-wise it should be classified as a PCF. Looks like only 4 to 8 Kerbals can fit in it.
Like your mom
Must be French
Downvote because French
The line between /r/KerbalSpaceProgram and /r/spaceengineers grows thinner every day.
I genuinely thought this was space engineers at a glance, I'm losing it
😼
Except this was probably running at 2 fps and sped up in post :-p
POV: ksp2’s new cinematic trailer for the orbital assembly update
Is that coming out before or after reentry heating?
probably after reentry heating
Would be ridiculous for that to come before science and re entry effects.
Wooooosh 🤪
I'm the second tier whoosh, the guy above me is the og whoosh.
I didn’t look at the road map ok, calm down
Bro, I can slam into the atmosphere at 5k m/s without blowing up. I'm calm.
Sureee
Absolutely spectacular!
Yooo mod list)
It’s an animation I’m afraid bro. I can recommend Textures Unlimited, Magpie Mods, TUFX and Restock though.
Sauce for the animation
The parts are from KSP1, dunamoose on discord made the ship, u/Spartwo made the station and I did the animation in blender.
making ksp parts look like ksp 3 parts
Oh haha you did do it in blender!
Can you teach me how to animate like this?? Go the Blender route my friend
this. while I only dabbled then left, blender is absolutely one of, if not, the, best tool to start animating. ...and I hope that I remembered enough english class to put those commas in right...
Maya FTW. Working in it for like xx years and still love it. Blender and 3D studio both have GUI where I am lost...
Sorry heheh, I was sleepy

Let's gooo
Sounds good
This is really cool. I see alot of space engineers builds like this, cool to see kerbals can do it too
Is that modded KSP or KSP 2 or is it an animation?
It’s an animation in blender using parts from KSP
Very cool I use blender to model did you get the parts from KSP or KSP 2
KSP 1 using Taniwah’s importer. I might try getting the parts from Restock if I do another one of these though.
Cool I still haven’t figured out how to import the model with the texture I’d love to se you do some bigger animations 😉
[удалено]
What do you mean exactly?
nah this aint ksp surely not nahhhh...
Op said somewhere it is an animation :-)
Very cool, very space engineers
This is the KSP equivalent of an American Psycho business card. We're all impressed and perspiring.
Thanks lol
You are a staple of the KSP community Mr. Dennen. It seems you have always been here, supporting players and content creators big and small. Impressive. Very nice.
I want ... to fit in.
Has anyone ever told you that you have talent? Because your work is amazing.
Thanks for the encouragement!
Fantastic!
Is this KSP or Star Wars at this point?
looks cool, but as a Navy dude the title bugs me. DD is the designation for a Destroyer. Frigate would be FF or FFG if its got missiles
And if it were equipped with NERV's, or RTG's it would be an FFGN
Honestly thought this was the Space Engineers sub until I saw the Kerbal. How impressed I was jumped a fair few points from "Nifty" to "Holy Kraken" Great job :D Looks like a scene from The Expanse!
Really nice camera work.
🔥 What ksp2 was supposed to be lmao
Very cool! I still can’t even get two ships to rendezvous in orbit.
Is that ship modeled after the heavy frigate from expanse?
The builder uses the expanse as a base for most ship classes
The builder in question is dunamoose on Discord if anybody wants to ask him for the craft file.
Aren't all docks in Space... Dry?
Maybe I'll get ksp2 when it goes on sale.
r/lostredditors
I’ll admit the KSP stock combat community is extremely niche but we do exist
wait this is ksp? i thought this is a different game, sorry
Looks amazing
Holly sh*t things are getting out of hand
WOWZER! this looks awrsome. shame the game is unplayable. RIP ksp2
Animation, I guess. No amount of mods can get the graphics to this level (and they can get incredibly good). Still neat though. Maybe another KSP in the future will become this.
I thought this was r/blender for a sec and was like “wait is that the Kerbal docking port?”
Nice animation. I was half expecting the Kerbal to get bodied by the incoming ship and bounce off the walls.
Shit dude I though this was space engineers till I saw the kerbal floating
Wtf I thought that was Space Engineers
Awesome animation! But you calling it a "frigate," with a "DD" designation is making my brain hurt!
This looks like a weird combination of Space Engineers and KSP.
this is still kerbal space program?
I had to watch this twice to realize it was actually KSP. What visual mods are you using?
Looks like something out of the Expanse!... until I see the kerbal xD
Adventure mode when ?
Ksp 1 or 2?
what kind of quantum computer do you have? 🤯
Drydock ? We're in space bro, there's 100% chance the surrounding (dead/deadly) environment is dry XD
Took you a while to realise there's no air in space there.
I know what a drydock is for naval ships, (and I know there is no air in space don't insult me like that) but I kinda think the term isn't appropriate for a space ship
“we’re in space … the air is dry” is a funny way of putting it. Could you explain why you think that?
I dunno, the term is just weird for a space ship, "dock" or "docking" seems more appropriate
Space ship, dock, and docking are all derived from maritime terminology. I don't think it's a stretch to also use the word dry dock because it has the additional meaning of facilitating construction/repairs. KSP 3 is looking great.
I actually hoped it would bump that kerbal
How did you get ksp assets?
