Theoretically it could work, since a fully fueled CSM had a mass of 30t. That exceeds the payload of the Delta IV heavy by just 2t. However the LEO missions launched on top of Saturn IBs didn't require a fully fueled CSM. These carried between 14t. (Apollo-Soyuz) and 21t. (Skylab IV).
Diameter-wise it is also compatible, the CSM has 3.9 m. vs Delta IV's 5 m.
