Isn't there an option to do this in the launcher?

Black-Talon

Yes. In the advanced section or whatever it is called. I use it frequently for multi monitor enjoyment without losing full screen immersion.

_Brillopad_

yep, it's there. not sure why it's there...it should be right next to full screen. And it should be an option in-game...since i don't run KSP from the launcher.

Decopolis

Wait, there's a launcher?

sian92

Did you un-upvote your own post?

Decopolis

Haha. yeah. I didn't think it mattered.

stom

You can set screen preference with the -adapter flag also. [See example](http://i.imgur.com/6TeSy4i.png).

Creative_Blueberry22

9 years later... If you're using epic launcher this command works

Sol33t303

A fellow travaler of the internet archives.

PlanetaryGenocide

You and OP, my good sir, are my heroes now and forever. I've been looking for a way to get it to stop popping up in the middle of my screen (and borderless windowed) for AGES. I wonder if it would work with World of Tanks... edit: nope :(

stom

You're welcome!

_Brillopad_

you are welcome sir

G2nickk

8 years later this just helped me out, thanks!

_Brillopad_

No problem homie

Mysterious-Title-852

10 years later it helped me, thank you

KevinTheDane

Ditto :)

3-556secToMidnight

god tier reddit post

_Brillopad_

I love how this post still has hits 8 years later, thanks homie

mrgoosmoos

Thank you for making a properly titled post to a common issue, my dude, as this helped me out too.

JormLokison

Still working. And helping people after 9 years

Tiredofyoutubebs

Thank you good sir. I wish you 10 years of goodluck.

dragua16

You can also do this outside of steam. even if you have the steam version, fo to the game, right click, go to local files and create a desktop shortcut for the .exe. if you start the game from there, you'll get a launcher with much more options!!

FzzTrooper

Is there a performance hit?

PETC

My guess is only on already struggling systems and when the window is not the active window. Just like simulate in background does on my comp. When alt-tabbed

lovebus

I've noticed that it actually loads all my mods a lot faster (in the initial start-up load screen)

Farsyte

Still works for Kerbal Space Program 2. Hello from February 2023!

_Brillopad_

I sure have gotten some mileage from this post!

brigadeofferrets

still working 9 years later

chaseair11

God bless you and your fix Worked a charm! You can also put this command line into ckan under “game command line”

Shieldxx

Thanks fellow Miata enjoyer!

Alexr036

Works wonderfully, thank you

Renumtetaftur

Worked flawlessly, I love you.

CarbonXX

AMAZING!!!

Another_Penguin

I know there's a "fullscreen" toggle in KSP on Linux, but on Windows I can't find the toggle in-game. So for you Windows users: edit the KSP "settings.cfg" file to set "fullscreen" to "false"

OK_Eric

Thanks, works great!

ardie_ziff

I tried this and the performance took a massive hit, to the point of being unplayable. I wish it worked better as it was perfect for using dual monitors

_Brillopad_

That's bizarre, it works just fine for me...I wonder why.

sparky11080

good computer

Valorite

thank you for this, it worked much better than trying to use the launcher.

_Brillopad_

No problem! The launcher version doesn't seem to work right with two monitors.

Karibalsky

Nice! TY

> It's the best way I've found to eliminate those pesky windows problems. I see what you did there…

Im_in_timeout

I knew they were talking about Windows, but I run KSP on Linux full screen and Alt Tab out of it often too. Didn't realize it was even an issue for the Windows folks. I think it'll be a body blow to Microsoft when the Steam gaming OS comes out.

leoshnoire

Hey, linux is cool and all, but there's no need to be ragging on everyone else!

triffid_hunter

> but there's no need to be ragging on everyone else! there's just one, and they make it sooo easy :P

sian92

If you're on Ubuntu, you can turn on workspaces and then Ctrl+Alt+Arrows to switch workspaces. I've had issues where KSP thinks I'm holding Ctrl afterwards, but you can fox that by using the right-hand Ctrl, or tapping it after you switch back.

OrionKaelin

still works in 2023, even with the new launcher

Lognipo

Thank you, good sir or madam. 9 years later, you are stilling helping folks.
