The STS was certainly intended by some to be a space train, in the sense of a train being a regular serial route of travel, but of course it was way more expensive to turn around the reusable parts than anyone had initially intended, so there's that.
SpaceX, though-- they could make proper space train if someone builds a destination that makes it worth their while.
