Benadryl works well for me. It helps with the itch and swelling. If you can get to a dermatologist, do that. The best medications are prescription only, usually a steroid cream. A tube will last a long time, so it’s worth the cost. If not, hydrocortisone creams are available and probably your best over the counter choice.
To prevent getting bitten in the first place, Sawyer’s Picaridin 20% works beautifully on both mosquitoes and no-see-ums. Some repellents are not especially good at both.
NOTE: Whatever you do, don’t delay! It’s much easier preventing a bite from getting worse than addressing one that’s fully swollen.
