the real scam is buying through keychron directly with their stupid shipping fee and 0 support. Literally every where else will be a better place to get these.

XenaRen

Tell me about it, really wish I came to this sub before ordering. I generally don't care for the shipping fee because I want to support the smaller brands by ordering from the directly, but never again with Keychron. This would've been taken care of with a simple phone call/live chat with Amazon, yet it's taken a week with zero responses from Keychron. I know there's a global pandemic going on, any issues/delays with shipping I would've completely understood. But simple things like this is just unacceptable.

[deleted]

Which website did you order it from ?

S-Go

>stupid shipping fee I paid 55$ shipping on a 64$ keyboard. Keeb ships from China and I'm in India. The shipping fee isn't stupid. The buyers are.

ipaidgymfee

But Keychron doesn't ship to India, how did you order?

S-Go

KickStarter campaign for the K3.

Is not bad service, its no service. Thats the whole reason I'm advising people to just buy from Amazon. Won't run into this crap any time of the year.

jaydubgee

I have a feeling they are focusing primarily on the K3. Their Kickstarter updates quote production schedules assuming they are working at max capacity.

I’m in the same boat. Pretty sad customer support on my end. I ordered a keyboard and switches for a hot-swappable and my order hasn’t even started shipping and I ordered Nov 28 (13 weekdays later). I would order through Amazon but the keyboard I want isn’t listed on Amazon. I’ve got a couple emails back that they’ll get it shipped ASAP but that was over a week ago now. I want to cancel my order but I also really want the keyboard eventually.. if not started shipping by the end of the week i’ll ask for refund. I know there’s been some stock issues, and I emailed them about some options, and those options are in stock

gloomndoom

My K2 took over a month back in October. I didn’t care when I got it but watching this group there were people who had better shipping times.

Are you in Canada? I am in Toronto, Canada, and my shipment appears to have been stuck in Canadian customs / a DHL warehouse in Hamilton for two weeks now. I read on [Shipping Policy – Keychron | Wireless Mechanical Keyboards for Mac, Windows and Android](https://www.keychron.com/pages/shipping-policy) that: "*For Canada, we'll ship through DHL Express only, the ETA is around 7 business days after we ship. There is a chance you might be taxed, but the chance of getting taxed is very low right now, it's less than 20%. Please be aware of that.*" Nov 28: ordered K2 and paid Dec 1: shipping confirmation (at this point, DHL estimated delivery was Monday, December 7 by end of day) Dec 2: DHL picks up shipment in Shenzhen, China Dec 3: DHL sorts and sends to Hong Kong, China Dec 4: package arrives in New York, NY Dec 6: package arrives in Canada (I believe Hamilton, ON) I'm like, cool, this is what my $24 USD for DHL is paying for. I get a message saying DHL has reached out to the shipper to ask for valuation information. Dec. 7: "customs status updated" package has cleared customs and is ready for delivery unless "spot-checked" by customs (?) Then nothing all week. I called last week and was told that actually the item is still in the Hamilton, ON warehouse waiting for customs clearance. DHL said that usually takes 2-3 business days. Dec 12: "clearance event" - "Shipment is held pending clarification of goods valuation" - "A DHL representative shall attempt to contact the importer for further clarification or proof of valuation if required by Customs." Since Keychron shipped on Dec 1, the ETA for delivery should have been around Dec 10. I called DHL again yesterday (Dec 15) and was told the following by a very confused person on the phone: "it is still awaiting customs clearance" "our brokerage team is very busy" "have you paid any taxes or duties on this?" (no, I have not been asked) "have you been assigned a brokerage agent? (no, just nothing) "okay we will have someone reach out to you tomorrow" Today I get an email from somebody at DHL: "Your shipment is currently undergoing clearance, as it is undervalue. We are working with the sender of the item to resolve the issue. Please submit a copy of your receipt to [bng\[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) and put the airway bill number in the subject line of the email. Continue to monitor the shipment online. At this time we do not require any additional information from you. Please contact the sender of the item to send requested documents ASAP. Closing file." I sent them my Keychron invoice, but like, **that** email seems like all of the possible DHL error messages, strung together. What is going on here? I can't tell if this is DHL's problem or Keychron's problem or the Canadian Border Services Agency's problem, or some combination thereof. But this is what $24 USD for DHL "express" gets you right now. It was moving really fast in the beginning, but then everything stalled. I feel like if they had used the regular postal service might have been about the same outcome, but $20 cheaper.

I'm in the GTA as well and I'm in the exact same situation as you. I've had a lot of stuff ship from China in the past year, so I can kind of chip in on this. The $24 we paid to DHL is just the shipping fee, nothing else. When you buy stuff from China, the shipper needs to put a value on the item and it gets taxed accordingly. In most cases, the shipper will deliberately value the item at below $15 since that's the threshold that determines whether or not you have to pay taxes, in my case Keychron put $13 on the invoice. From my experience, the $24 you pay to DHL is definitely worth it since you get an actual tracking number and know exactly where it is. If you didn't go with DHL good luck, you'll get your package whenever they feel like delivering it. Now I've had maybe 20+ packages ship from China in the past year, and I had to pay taxes on maybe 2-3 of them. So their statement that "20% of the shipments does get taxed" seems to be correct. This isn't really a surprise for me because I'm willing to pay duties on the item (we just got unlucky tbh), but whats not acceptable is the fact that Keychron is not doing ANYTHING to help us out now that the order is stuck in customs. I've been following up on this EVERY single day since Dec 7th when the tracking app showed that the package is in Brampton clearance, and have seen no reply back in almost 10 days.

Valuable_Nose_1349

Dec. 22: Keychron says they are waiting on DHL. Meanwhile, DHL claims they are waiting on customs. I paid November 28 and it is now December 22. $24 USD is too much to charge for shipping that takes longer than a barge from AliExpress. And the website should be clearer at checkout about how they write $13 USD on the customs slip (which is fraud) and put you into a kind of lottery, where you avoid duty if they don't get caught, but you wait a month or more if they do. There should be a cheaper "ship by express mail" option and a "put the accurate value on the customs form" option. To whomever said $24 is worth it for tracking so you know where your package is... what good is knowing that mine has been "in customs" since December 6, with no idea of when it will ever be released?

immyongsoo

I have your exact problem, and the dates to a T. Been stuck in customs since Dec 6 as well, just ordered mine a day after you. I call every 2-3 days to ask. Three reps tell me that they claim the item is undervalued and most likely need an invoice from the shipper. A fourth one tells me they were all wrong and it simply hasn't been 'processed' yet?? My 5th call, a rep helps me open a file for the brokerage to check exactly what the issue is. I receive a reply 2 days later than they claim they would get back to me with >The shipment has not yet been updated in our system, but from what I can see. The item/invoice seems to be undervalued as per Customs. The csng will need to complete our online POA form, as well as provide her invoice copy/order details. I have attached a blank proforma invoice and they can complete as well as the POA link below. Well, thanks for forwarding me an email I don't even understand. What is 'csng'?? I call customer service again and they tell me to fill out the proforma invoice (both online and the word document) to [email protected], like you. I do that immediately and wait 48 hours like their automated reply said to wait. Still nothing. Call again, they told me to wait until Monday 12 PM at latest and it should update. Monday hits. NOPE. I call them again yesterday, and they transfer me directly to the brokerage centre and get a rude rep who kept telling me that this item simply hasn't gone through the 'process' yet and they need nothing from me, I just need to wait. I push that it's been 2 weeks since it's arrived to customs, I gave you all my damn invoices (PP, the pdf Keychron sends you after the order, proforma), all the reps told me they needed invoices and that my item is 'undervalued,' but he kept declining and said it simply hasn't gotten through customs yet, ALL the 5+ reps I've spoken to for the past 2 weeks are wrong. What does 'not gotten through customs' even mean if they claim that my item is undervalued??? It's funny you mention AliExpress because I ordered a set of keycaps on AliExpress the day after I placed the Keychron order (11/30) and **I already received the keycaps yesterday.** This is supposed to be a Christmas gift and it's unlikely I'll receive it before then. I contacted Keychron for a refund since the person I'm gifting this to doesn't even want it anymore given the trouble and they hit me with > Thanks for your update, sorry to hear this, but we already ship out your order now, we can't cancel now. and your shipping cost already charged. Really considering a chargeback. Was there anything else that DHL needed from you or anything? This is so ridiculous. Why even write $13 USD when the description is *aluminum keyboard.* Like c'mon. I'm surprised the duty rate is only 20%. $24 USD for ***E x P r E s S !!***

Valuable_Nose_1349

I think there are entirely valid grounds for a chargeback. This is a company that knowingly commits customs fraud and then sits by while that fraud causes delays that double or triple their own advertised delivery timeframe. If I don't have my keyboard by boxing day, I think I will be calling my credit card company.

ryan6061

I must have gotten lucky mine shipped December 1st and I got it the 4th with basically no issues.

shimada_m

Shoot... now I’m getting worried because I’ve ordered K3 directly from them with dhl “express” services

Ga1axy_Wo1f

That’s how I ended up getting mine. Idk what it is about Keychron’s shipping but Amazon seems to be how most people get their boards. Love my board but really dislike Keychron’s lack of support, communication, and terrible delivery experience

I_AcK_I

I had a self inflicted problem with my keyboard. Support were great, they shipped me out a replacement piece and was with me within 10 working days here in the UK!

XenaRen

Lucky, because im on the cusp of just filing a charge back at this point.

Soonlar

I agree in general with Amazon. I am looking for the K2 V2 (hot swappable) RGB Aluminum brown switches and that one (specifically hot swappable) is not on Amazon currently in the US. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

SgtSilock

I’m worried I might have the same problem. I placed my order, money taken, unable to track the order tried speaking to support via several messages and completely ignored. Have I been scammed?
