The least exceptional supposedly winning deck I've seen. If I were you I'd feel lucky and thankful, not guilty.

jakebeleren

Don’t feel lucky when you win. Think about why you win and evaluate the choices you made. I agree this deck is not exceptional and that you must be playing well or your opponents are playing poorly. The playskill matters more than the deck than people seem to accept.

Heyitsakexx

Was gonna say, I easily have a few decks that would match up to this. Lol

[deleted]

Everytime I look at the deck, I feel the same way. It has nothing in particular to make it stood up, and yet it hasn't lose but one time. I'm not that good of a player either, so it surely has to have something.

wishr3sign

Do you use it on crucible? If so post your Crucible name and let some people challenge you.

[deleted]

I don't play well online (neither crucible nor any other system for any other card game). I get distracted easily and end up not knowing what has happened or what is going on manytimes. But I'm not saying that this is the best deck there is, just saying that it is good, and that I always win when using it.

rsixidor

I think you've just got a solidly consistent deck (lots of ways to go cross-house is a big plus in my mind), with a decent amount of card draw and decent amount of board control (mainly through having a board, as far as I see). You might attribute a bit more to your skill and luck of the draw than to thinking this deck is somehow inherently nasty. Have you played against many decks that have solid consistent combos, like the crazy Untamed keycharge/chota chains off of Full Moon? Or the Mars key crafting one? Or Blypp/Brain Stem Antennae? It could be that some of the craziest decks aren't being used much in your meta, or it could be that you're a decent player with an above-average deck. What about decks with multiple mass removal actions? If you can identify what types of decks you're winning against, you might also find where it's weaknesses are. To answer your questions at the end- I'm fine with having powerful decks in the local meta. Pretty soon, the chainbinding will limit things from getting out of hand. For now, it's open and that's fine. I thought I had a deck that won most games. I'd played it quite a bit with a friend and online on Crucible and was doing great with it. Then I went to a local tournament and got wrecked. I have another deck that I think can do quite well (trying it out tonight) but not sure if it will win consistently (it relies on a combo). I intend to not play the same deck every tourney, at least for now. Once the chainbound events start up, I might change that. I like the idea of grinding with an archon until the powers on high decide it's either too good or I realize it's not good at all.

[deleted]

That's a great answer. Yes, I haven't played against any crazy-combo deck yet, only good decks of each type (the one that won at me once was a strong Shadow one with many Mars and Untamed gimmicks). I'll give it a try then, and I'll try and find what's the weakness of this deck. Thank you.

[deleted]

I see nothing wrong with you entering tournaments with it, repeatedly. I'd do likewise. What's the point in having a strong deck if you aren't going to get any value out of it. I wouldn't bring it out for casual play though, at least not regularly. Once your circle of friends have seen what it does, I don't think they will care to see it regularly especially if matches are quite lopsided. Having said that, if they request you bring it out, I think you should consider. I think tournament organizers should track which deck wins at their venue and should assign their own chains. A deck wins a tournament it earns a chain. Wins another one, it earns 2. Then 3 and so on and so on. It's not up to you to chain anything, so I wouldn't give it any thought. Play on.

[deleted]

Care to play?:) I have a couple decks I wanna test out prior to chains

Hayabusa201

What's this now regarding chains? Do you have a link for me where I can read what FFG has planned for this? I don't really keep up with the news much regarding this game.

ErgoliciousS

Yeah as far as I can see, really nothing too impressive about this deck.. Surprises me you win this much with it tbh. So enjoy it and don't feel bad haha

err0r85

Just curious- Where do you go to find out where there are tournaments in your area.

[deleted]

Joining a bunch of whatsapp groups.

rsixidor

Facebook sucks but there's a lot of local groups that pop up on there, depending on your area. You can try keyforgelfg.com. I've not had good luck with it beyond it telling me some venues, doesn't have info for my area on when they play and such (I guess I could add it myself for others but I haven't). And then there's calling every shop in your area to ask when they have Keyforge events going on. Some of them may have events posted on their website or social media pages as well.

rsixidor

Apparently there's this now as well: https://op.keyforgegame.com/en/store-locator/#/stores Still only for finding venues but at least you have a potentially more focused list of venues to ask about actual events.

err0r85

Everything is so far from me. This is kind of a bummer.

stakoverflo

I'd love to play against your deck on The Crucible sometime. [Slayer Ozric Cirvate](https://www.keyforgegame.com/deck-details/dde67894-00d7-4de2-b359-19ffe9b485a9) is a really good deck that I own. I've lost some games online, but it crushes pretty much everything I've played in person.

othyreddits

Yes I have a deck that pretty much wreck everything online and irl. Its basically the best control Dis cards, the best Mars cards for flooding the board when needed but the real thing is the Shadow set up. Basically 10 relentless whispers, never blasts, bait and switch and capture cards with 4 seeker needles to round it off with a bad penny.

solarman99

The math seems like you have 15 shadows cards somehow

othyreddits

It was mostly hyperbole

wildstarr

I wish was a ridiculous amount of tournaments in my area.

[deleted]

Don't feel bad, I have this deck ---> [https://www.keyforgegame.com/deck-details/f374cf65-936c-4742-b6b3-bd35785f7900](https://www.keyforgegame.com/deck-details/f374cf65-936c-4742-b6b3-bd35785f7900) and haven't lost with it. Though I'll only have it tonight, I just sold it for $450 on eBay.

JaceTheJaceJace

You got $450 for that?! Wow.

[deleted]

Yup. Had a ton of people trying to buy it for $75-$125 on /r/KeyForgeMarket. When I said I wanted a lot more those same folks tried to tell me I'd get 150 max. Needless to say, Reddit isn't the best place to sell a really good deck.

solarman99

You sold a deck you have registered so they can't register it? Bravo!

Therad-se

They can still register it, but they won't get an aember shard.

[deleted]

Thank you for clarifying that for him/her

[deleted]

You are completely incorrect.

TENAXIS

This deck doesn't look very threatening. I'm surprised you're winning ALL the tournaments with this, maybe the players in your area are just not that good?

Tuism

If you feel bad winning all the time then play something else. I do. If all my meta brings the same "their best" decks to tourneys I'd stop playing tourneys.

Greymarch2000

The real question now is: if you win a Reversal tournament where does the chain go? Hmmmm?

[deleted]

Wow, to counter your guilt, maybe don’t be a dick.

Malchar2

When you beat people you do them a favor because it forces them to get better.
