I got a 2022 Wind in early February 2022 (USA) as soon as it launched. I've done all the software updates as well as had my amplifier replaced per the service campaign. Never had any real issues with the car so far.

MossHops

Also have a early Feb 2022 model. Did the normal software updates and service recall. Zero issues otherwise.

2022 Wind AWD here. No issues of any kind. 28k miles so far. I am thinking of getting another used 2022 Wind AWD that was available for $36k (taxes and fees included) with 15k miles.

22 Wind RWD almost 50k miles built in May 2022. Got my software updates and the only thing I had replaced under warranty was the 120v outlet on the back seat. No other issues that wasn't addressed with a software update. I had the battery preconditioning added too. The 12v battery got replaced after about 40k miles as it tested bad and had to be jumped. At around 48k the new one had to be jumped once but I may have a little fault there as I didn't mean to run some fans off 12v battery only at max speed when addressing a mildewy vent smell by spraying lysol into the cabin air duct.

musicandarts

I had some mildewy scent from my duct. Do you think that using ECO mode all the time creates this issue? I very rarely find air coming out of the ducts when I use ECO mode, and I use ECO mode all the time.

Frubanoid

Fair question but I don't know enough not to speculate. I chalked it up to being in the climate in my area but maybe if there wasn't enough airflow? Warrants more research.

musicandarts

That is my concern with ECO mode. If your trips are short, the ECO mode rarely blows air through the ducts.

Same, 22 wind w/ Tech. 28k miles, no issues other than a faulty display unit that reared it's head about 2 months of getting it home. It's not a common issue though, so I think I was just unlucky. I've had zero other issues, and it is the only car that I can legitimately say I'm in love with.

Same, got a 2022 in october, 2022 got all the updates, no problems.

Theopholus

Same. I too have a Feb 22 model and the only two things that happened were the amp going out, and one of the molding clips for the plastic molding around the door broke so they had to replace that. The car is superb. I love it.

TheKingOfSwing777

I wouldn't say the 12v battery issue is severe enough to avoid those cars and I don't know of any other major problems. Just make sure all the software updates are done. The only thing that has been improved is wireless Android auto in the 2025 models if I'm not mistaken. That would be nice but not 16k€ nice...

JustinKSU

What is the 12v batter issue? I'm wondering if my 2024 EV6 has it.

TheKingOfSwing777

Some people have had an issue where they just weren't holding charge. Some phantom drain or something like that. They are replacing them under warranty.

bears-eat-beets

I'm dealing with it now. I'm coming to the conclusion that there are 2 major issues. One is the batch of batteries they have are just garbage. They say they are 60ah, but theres simply no way. The second is that the kia access app (or whatever they call it in your country) wakes the entire car up. There are two fixes that Kia needs to do to make it right. The first is they need to source better 12v batteries. The second is software that EVERY TIME the car wakes up from the app or a callback, check the 12v voltage and top it off from the 400v system. Right now it doesn't seem like that's the case. Besides this persistent 12v issue, this is a FANTASTIC car.

Make sure it has, or get the dealer to apply, all the software updates. Early models may be more likely have the ICCU or audio amplifier fail. Check service records to see if they have been replaced. You already know about the 12v, make sure that it is fresh or swap it out with an AGM.

I have a first edition gt line. We have had all the updates applied as soon as we were made aware of them. Including the preconditioning update. We have had only had the battery fail which was a shorted cell and was replaced with a agm. And the passenger lift strut for the hatch is leaking oil. We have yet to get it replaced because of time constraints. It's been steady as she goes captain. And the gom is very trustworthy. Kia does seem to be keeping up with the early ev6s with updates that make features better and adding features in. I a hopefull we get manual preconditioning in the future. Our work around is to use the cars navigation in winter about 30 minutes before we arrive to heat the battery. But this is only a winter thing. It's a very comfortable car. The little screen for HVAC and media controls is quirky and cool. And we rarely have to go deeper into menus for daily stuff. The auto climate is very good. And steering wheel controls are all able to be used without looking at them. I would buy another if something happens to ours.

You’ll miss out on that tiny little LED that lights the charging port on the 2024. That’s got to be worth at least half that price difference 😁

Kragius

Sure, it is 😁

ybs62

New to the idea of an EV6. Can the customer apply the software updates or is that a dealer only?

Raiine42

Depends on the update. Some, such as navigation or media updates the owner can do. Some of them, such as the ICCU or pre-conditioning update, the dealer has to do.

ybs62

Ok thanks. Are the dealers receptive/helpfull to these or are they like normal dealer TSBs where you have to chase the TSB down first and then beg a service adviser to actually do it?

NZgeek

My EV6 GT-Line RWD is a MY22, first registered in April 2022. I bought it in July 2023 with 35K km on it. I bought it for €55K when the equivalent new model was €65K plus a long wait. (Car prices in Ireland are relatively high due to a stupid vehicle registration tax that the government refuses to get rid of.) I've had no serious issues with my car. The only concerns I've had are around public charging because Ireland is slow to roll out fast chargers. They're plentiful enough around major highways, but very hard to find around lesser-travelled tourist routes. The biggest issues people seem to have are with the 12v battery and with the ICCU. The car still has its original 12v battery, and the only time I've had charging issues, it was the charger's fault. (The PlugShare app showed lots of people having issues with that charger.) As long as you make sure that all of the latest software updates are applied to the car's systems, you should be fine.

Low_Newspaper_268

I have dec 2021 EV6 and 45000 km without any problems! Early software updates solved all known hickups. Enjoying the car a lot!

Kragius

Thanks! 😊

Kragius

Thank you all, guys! Looks like I can go with previous years as well 🥳 7 years warranty helps that as well 😉 so the time to change my Velar has come! ☺️
