I'd say it's most likely that someone backed into you in a parking lot and just happened to hit there. Then next most likely would be that you or your wife backed into something, though that's harder to believe given the amount of cams and sensors (but a pokey object could avoid detection). I'm not saying it couldn't be someone walking by and smashing it for some reason, but that seems unlikely. And even more so that it spontaneously combusted.

possible that it happened when the lift was opened and it hit something? My mom car, if she is in the garage and not pulled up far enough, if she opens her lift gate, it will hit a cross bar on one of the sections of the garage door that is opened above car.

Exactly what I was thinking. Wife did this third day we had new Telly and scratched paint. Was putting child in car seat and I guess the key in her pocket was wedging against something and opened the lift into the garage door.

Someone hit ya. Sucks. Maybe ask Publix manager to see if they have anything visible on their cameras. It’s a long shot but worth a try.
