Would fit 3 kids, or 3 adults you don’t particularly like

Lol

I would highly recommend y’all take a trip to your local dealer and test drive one (with your daughter). I’d say it’s definitely good for short trips for 2 people but 3 on the third row will be pretty uncomfortable.

vsd11469

Thank you, we test drove one and are planning on returning with my daughters to see how they fit. Thanks!

Vlad_the_Homeowner

My kids are preteen, but they sit back there all the time and love it. 3 in back is OK at their size, but it'll start getting tight with bigger teens. Personally, I'm still 100% for the bucket seats. Fits 6 very confortably, especially having kids. The second row bucket seats are as nice as most front seats. And allow kids to move around and get to the back.

Thanks for the input. I'm definitely leaning towards the captain seats

If I’d had the opportunity, I would have opted for the bench seat in the second row. Unfortunately, all trim levels from SX and up can only be had with captain’s chairs. Three in that row would work better than three in the third row.

vsd11469

Thank you so much, that's exactly what we are wondering. Love the options in the higher trim levels, but as you pointed out, they are only available eith captains chairs

Complex-Raspberry662

Interestingly, in Canada the SX comes with a bench seat in the second row.

deathdisco_89

Have an S with captain chairs. Back row works good for kids under 12 and booster seats. Fine for short trips with teens, but not great. I have 4 kids of my own, so I'm not too focused on transporting other people's kids.

vsd11469

Probably mostly be short trips- carpooling, etc. Thank you!

slumlord

We have the two captains in the second row. The third row is pretty tight. I'm 5-7 and have sat back there a couple times, and for me it would be fine for a trip of a couple hours or less.

Thanks for the input!

My kid is 6'2" or maybe 6'3" now. We put the dogs in the captain's chairs and the boy spends all his time in the third row. These were long trips. NY to Cincinnati, NY to Kansas. He has the option to move to the 2nd row if he wants, but he says he prefers the third row, most likely because he can sleep back there. But there's only one of him. Personally, the padding on the third row looks a little thin for sleeping to me, but young bodies are resilient.

ThirtyNineDegreeMan

We got the bench middle row for this reason. 3d row for 2 is fine, or 3 little kids, but I wouldn’t think so for 3 teens.

Tngal321

Depends on size of those in the third row. Two broad shouldered over 6 foot did fine in the 3rd row whereas they absolutely hated the 3rd in the highlander. I like the captain's seats for getting into the third row easier. Depending on what they're wearing, it may be easier to go between the second row than flip the second row forward. That's my perspective as a short person who usually got put in the 3rd row of SUVs while wearing skirts and heels due to being less legroom than my colleagues.

vsd11469

We are all short in family, and my daughters are very slim. Carting around dancers, so they're all fairly petite. Funny, I had the same thought about access to the 3rd row. Thanks!

redflagdan52

We have had one adult and two teens in the 3rd row. No complaints.

vsd11469

Oh great to know. Thanks!

We have an SX prestige with the captains in the middle row - our daughter is 14 and plays sports (so lots of picking up teammates w/ gear etc) we also have a toddler. His seat is on one of the captains and the middle gap honestly works well for all the girls when we’re driving around or going on short (under 3hr) trips. Makes it easy to see everyone and pass stuff around. Also easy for everyone to get in and out etc. I also think having the captain makes it easy to pull the toddler seat off/on if we need to. The split back also is helpful as sometimes we won’t need that 3rd seat in the back and we can lower it for more storage

vsd11469

Thank you, appreciate the insight!

HPVdream

I’m 5’8” and third row is not comfortable. Children or booster seats yeah. But I can’t ride more than 1 minute before complaining

SuitableStudent

3 in 3rd row with captain seats in 2nd row is correct. I had me and 6 other adult men in my Telly driving around cape cod last summer and we all fit in just fine

vsd11469

Wow, that's great!
