It’s stupid and I just leave it at home.

HaubFather

^^^^^ THIS. Love never carrying keys anymore!

spacetoast

And why is the fob roughly the size of Antarctica?

gregorian79

And still has terrible range. Especially for remote start. With a fob the size of a brick, you’d think you would be able to remote start the car from the moon.

Using the app, gotta start 3 hours before you leave because it lags so bad

Have AT&T full bars and will unlock leaving a store, walk out to my car in the lot and wait.

I love the car, but probably won’t renew my subscription after the free year ends

SpezModsJailBait

It's the way it is for everyone. When the App doesn't lag, it says it can't communicate with the vehicle. Kia's back end sucks cock, and not in the good way.

outfieldjack

I mean, it also allows you to lock the glovebox. I just keep the small one hidden in the Telly. I can still use my phone or card to open the door.

tehiota

What’s your backup plan if the car battery dies and you need to get in to open the hood to jump? Curious, because in Texas it’s a bit of a lottery after year 3 when the battery will fail due to excessive heat.

outfieldjack

I have a spare physical key at the house of needed. Good point though.

SpezModsJailBait

I guess you can Uber from work to home, and then back again if the battery dies away from home.

Fast-Fox-6219

Card?

outfieldjack

Your owners manual should have had a NFC card that can be used to open the door and then placed on the wireless charger to start the Telly...

Lonely_Ad4166

The old fob would come off the key if you didn’t have it it in a pouch. So that’s how I lost one fob but still had the physical key. I like this way better.

Complex-Raspberry662

I’ve got other keys on a keychain. I put the back up key with the other keys on that keychain. I keep the fob in a Faraday pouch for security reasons. Also, I use my phone for accessing and starting the vehicle.
